Rachel excels at determining exactly which lab tests to order, how to interpret them, and then how to prescribe the best supplements to correct the problem. She is especially adept at resolving hormonal issues and cholesterol problems, but can handle any medical problem, and especially preventative care. However, she is also there with a hug at the right time when needed. She is brilliant, caring, and very kind-hearted, and this comes through in her holistic approach. Rachel really helped me and gave me my quality of life back. She listens and takes the time to get to the real root of the problem. I truly trust her and her body of knowledge and can't I imagine not receiving this kind of healthcare. I am super happy with the high-quality healthcare I am getting from Rachel. The only downside to Rachel's practice is that her office does not bill insurance plans and she is not a preferred provider on PPO plans and is not on any HMO plans, so she is out of network. However, this is understandable given that dealing with insurance companies is an unpleasant, full-time job. Therefore, her services are expensive, but are worth it, so overall it's a good value. When it comes to your health, it's really worth it. If you just want to take a pill for the rest of your life and are OK with all of the possible side effects, then integrative medicine is probably not for you. However, if you want to be able to spend quality time with your doctor and be able to talk to and work with your doctor to get to the root of the problem and solve it, and not just mask the symptoms, then Rachel is who you want to see for your healthcare.

I am 75 and consider him the best doctor I have every had. He has always followed up on tests that called for further care. He is involved with all my healthcare whether he is the Dr. or a referral. Dr. Houlahan went above and beyond for me during a broken ankle that required extensive surgery. I had a hard time getting public health services at home with the orthopedic surgeon. I love Doctors on Duty on Ocean St. They're right down the street from my place, so I've been there…read moreseveral times. I've never had a bad experience there. All the staff treat people with dignity, courtesy, and respect. This last time I was there I came in with fuzzy symptoms. I was given a blood test, urine test, and EKG. They measured my blood pressure, pulse, and oxygenation. I told one of the staff he was very nice and he said "I love my job ". I don't go there under the best of circumstances, but when I leave I always feel better - at least about humanity.
