Flat tire called to see if they had the tire in stock ( a special dealership tire, they had the tire and told us to have it towed there. After we arrived and they found out it was a warranty tire they then told us they did not have time to do today or tomorrow, give me a break this was to put a tire on. They did agree to sell us the tire (would not honor the Toyota warranty) but would not put it on. We were 2 hours from home 4 senior ladies. On one occasion, I was placed on hold for 35 minutes, and after waiting that long, the call was disconnected. When I finally spoke with someone, I simply requested a basic oil change. Instead, I was repeatedly offered additional services that I did not ask for, and I was quoted a price of $89 without a clear explanation. I made it very clear that I only want an oil and filter change--nothing more. I am disappointed with the lack of responsiveness and the push for unnecessary services. I went to Tracy Toyota to buy a used 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring AWD, after coordinating with Khalil Abousoud via email. I let them know I was driving in from San Jose and was ready to purchase if the vehicle checked out. Before moving forward, I had the car inspected by my independent mobile mechanic, Hugo. Within just 15 minutes, he uncovered several serious issues -- including permanent system fault codes related to the vehicle stability assist, blind spot radar, tailgate module, and power window controls, as well as low brake fluid and an active valve cover oil leak. The cost to repair all of these issues was estimated at around $7,000. Only after we presented these findings did Khalil mention that the car had been inspected by Tracy Toyota's in-house mechanic, but admitted "they may not have done a deep dive." Despite the clear safety and mechanical concerns, the dealership made no effort to reduce the price or offer to fix the problems in order to complete the sale. While the CARFAX report showed no accident history, the number and type of faults found strongly suggest that the vehicle may have been in a previous incident that went unreported. Either way, it had clearly not been properly vetted for resale. This entire experience was a waste of time and extremely frustrating -- especially after making a long trip with every intention to buy. If you're considering a used vehicle from Tracy Toyota, do not rely on their internal inspection or the CARFAX report alone. Huge shout out to Jesus who helped me buy my (slightly used) new Prius late on a Friday. My poor little 2013 Prius had a blown head gasket and it was time to stop throwing any more money in to it. I had looked online for used Prius in the 2022-2024 models in about a 50 mile radius from where I live. Spoiler alert...there aren't many. Upon seeing what Tracy Toyota had, I called to see if the website was accurate and ask a few questions about the cars. Mustafa helped me over the phone but his shift was over by the time I got out of work and was able to head over. Enter Jorge...he was friendly, efficient and made the whole process smooth. I knew what I wanted and they didn't try to push me in a different direction. Since you're there for a bit doing all the paperwork, he was also very friendly to talk to-time went by quickly! Easiest and quickest car buying experience! They had a few financing options and do take trade-ins. Unfortunately I couldn't drive my car over to them so couldn't take advantage of a trade in. I had done a ton of comparisons and they had the best prices and lowest mileage on the used Prius in stock out of multiple dealers and sites I looked on (and I searched from San Jose, up to Folsom and everywhere in the East Bay.) If you're in Contra Costa or Alameda counties, it's worth the drive out to Tracy and take advantage of their lower prices. However, after the test drive today, they suddenly mentioned "one more thing": they typically charge $3,000 over MSRP. When I pushed back, they offered to "discount" it to $2,000 above MSRP. I called out the bait-and-switch and walked out. Just sharing this so others are aware of these deceptive practices before wasting time at this dealership. Edit to respond to the business: Tim, I have the VSPEC PDF, which has no dealer adjustments, as written proof. So your team sharing market adjustments before is just not accurate. The shuttle service not only helped me save some money by not needing to order an Uber, but it also got me home fast and early enough to drop my kids off at their first day of school. That same shuttle service picked me up from my home once my vehicle was finished. They provided me with a detailed video of my service (Which I was surprised they did) which showed me exactly what the technician was looking at. Denial of Basic Vehicle Maintenance Info from Tracy Toyota To Whom It May Concern, I'm writing to file a formal complaint regarding the service department at Tracy Toyota. I recently purchased a Toyota from a trusted friend who had always serviced the vehicle at Tracy Toyota. I contacted the dealership simply to ask for the date and mileage of the last oil change, as well as the recommended interval for the next one. The oil change sticker inside the vehicle is smeared and unreadable--the ink clearly wasn't dry before being exposed to heat. That, in itself, poses a safety concern. I attempted to call the service department repeatedly over the course of a full week, at different times of day, and received no answer. Eventually, I called another department and asked to be transferred. The service representative I finally spoke with refused to help. He claimed it was a "safety risk" to give me that basic information unless I brought the vehicle in--despite the fact that I live over an hour away and am not asking for service, just a date and mileage already in their records. I explained that I drive 6,000 miles a month, am a single mom of two, a full-time student, a bookkeeper, and I care for my mother who is on dialysis three times a week. Traveling to Tracy just to ask about an oil change is simply not feasible. He repeatedly put me on hold mid-sentence, said he was "getting his manager," but came back with the same refusal and talking points. Meanwhile, I was upset, crying, and simply trying to make sure I'm maintaining my vehicle responsibly. Out of desperation, I called another Toyota dealership nearby. They picked up immediately. Their response? "Just go by the light. That's what it's there for." Quick, respectful, and helpful....exactly how customer service should be. I am shocked and disappointed that Tracy Toyota's service department would refuse to give out basic, common-sense maintenance information to a Toyota driver, especially when the lack of that information could put someone at risk. Then, whomever booked my appointment put it on the wrong day! They had took down notes for the special price, so I thought that was lost. However, Tatiana service representative was able to book me in despite the error and checked with her manager to help me! Honored that promo price for oil change! She was positive and willing to answer any questions as I checked in on the status of my vehicle a few times since I was in a time crunch. Was able to be done 1.5 hours later. The financing advisor is definitely a clown. He tried to look professional by telling us a non-sense story to compare to how he does financing. We own many Toyota vehicles. My sister has a 2016 Rav4. My brother has a 2021 Sienna. And, I have a 2017 Camry. However, after this experience, we will no longer buying any Toyota vehicles especially from this dealer. Went to buy a used 2021 Honda CR-V last week. ~43k miles. Spent a week in communication with the sales rep about it, negotiating price. I arrived to purchase. I hired a mobile mechanic to come do a pre-purchase inspection. On his device that runs a general diagnostic, so many issues came up. That would be several thousands of dollars to fix. There was also an oil leak going on. I'm so so soooo glad I spent $$ on an inspection before wasting $31,000 OTD price!!! I advise anyone to do the same. Shame on this dealership.
