Yeah, this place is not a good place to go. They didn't wanna give me nothing for my generator but $75 for $800 generator that was brand new in the box and I told the black gentleman behind the counter. I was gonna put him on blast I said you don't know who I am. I'm pretty popular on YouTube and people listen to me when I put the bad places out you know to review what they're doing they they gave some woman a couple hundred dollars for a PS five they look like they had about 80 of them in the case but they won't give me number $75 for $800 generator that was brand new in the box man got real hostile towards me and told me to leave the store so save some time. I have had two bad experiences with them since they moved locations. First I bought a miter saw and because I did not have room in the car I put it on layaway and paid 80% down. I came back then next day with my ticket and paid the balance to pick up my saw. They could not find it and asked me to come back as they misplaced it. The manager said he would call me if the found it. I returned the following day and again no saw. The manager stated that they may have retagged it and sold it to someone else by mistake. I asked for a refund and he said he was not allowed but could offer me store credit. I was not satisfied with that and met with the district manager who told me that as a layaway I had to make my payments on time and the saw was resold because I did not. I told him he was nuts as I paid 80% down and came back the next day and paid it off. He stated that that's not what the computer said and showed me the manager voided out my final payment out of the system. I showed him both receipts and that I paid cash for the saw. It was on the receipt. He had nothing else to say and walked away. I was out 180.00 for a compound miter saw and they did not care that it was their mistake. Both the manager and district manager quit and I never got a single phone call from their main office or a refund. read more

Took a $899 generator up there and they were talking about $279 brand new in the box with the receipt. (was on the whiteboard as a top $ item) Not only that they were rude when I tried to counter, I'm at this number, he said what do you want, then he wouldn't counter back and said that I was talking to myself. This place is used to taking from the addicts and people in bad situations. The store is dirty, and the clientele looks like they could use some kind of intervention. After a kind greeting and a quick check to make sure everything worked, I was offered a very fair amount for my stuff, and was back to my day in no time! I couldn't BELIEVE the way I was treated in this establishment, let me TELL you all how it went down. So I walk in and the guy behind the counter was a long-haired, skinny short guy who offered to help me. I went there first, bc of the relevance to my need. I told him what I was looking for, for my work-at-home job. He showed me what they had, and when I had made my decision on which monitor I was going to purchase, he informed me that he would bring it to the cash register. Next thing I know, he brings up a 55 inch $150+ TV. I told him that wasn't what we discussed, and to put that back. I let him know I was going to shop around for more cost efficient items and that I would be back. 45 mins later, I make my way back to them after price comparing and as I'm reminding him of who I was, instead of saying "One second ma'am I'll be right with you" tells me "Hold on because you are throwing me off, I'm doing something". I wanted to ask him is THAT how you talk to a customer?? I threw you off and I came BACK to YOUR establishment to spend money???? But ladies and gents, I don't. Instead, I stand there patiently for a solid 5 minutes, as he takes his time with his task. So I walk off within eye's view and start looking for possible purchases so I won't look like an idiot just standing there. Of course, I hear mumbling to his superior as he proceeds to speak ill things about me vs his trash customer service. His superior doesn't acknowledge me either or asks what I need, he just stares at me from his computer. So the clerk finishes up his initial task, and proceeds to start another task, as if I couldn't see him and he didn't even look up to see where I had gone. So it wasn't until I take 3 steps back up to the cash register and clear my throat, that he tends to me again. So he passes me off to a female employee, who walks right past me. I call out to her bc I wasn't given a name, and ask her was she the one who was supposed to be helping me. She has no recollection of being told to assist me, but she comes over anyway. At this point, I don't want to be in the store anymore, let alone buy anything. So I remember him telling me about ethernet and HDMI cords they had for a couple of bucks, so I ask her to grab those for me, so I can high tail it out of there. Homegirl goes to the back and gets them, and as she is ringing me up, the same manager that couldn't open his mouth to acknowledge +help me or reprimand his clerk, literally yells at her for not selling me the brand new cords that were priced $10 vs the $1-$2 cords I was getting. This was THE most shitty customer service I have ever received. I wasn't even treated like a person, they treated me like I had no value, and that my service didn't matter. Well guess what, Trade It?? It's never too late to learn some humility, you don't treat the people of your community like scum on the bottom of your shoe. WE are the people who are keeping you in business so we deserve more respect from you all. Period. Essential employee or not, your competitors are less than a mile away from you and I spent TWICE as much with them than the lil upsale you tried to slide on the kid. Your business will NEVER grow with the attitudes that you all have there, giving second-hand shops a bad name all over the globe. Shame!! I will make sure that my story goes far and wide, and I will be letting the people of the community know of your behavior going forward, and point them to a place where their money is appreciated. Great place! I was shopping a few doors down at a used bookstore and heard someone talking about the Trade It store a few doors down. I pulled in and walked in, immediately got greeted by a blonde lady who smiled big and then told me how the store works. They have a lot of electronics and games and phones and jewelry, I bought a portable stereo and looked at the jewelry but didnt buy any. The prices were great but I will wait to see what santa gets me. I am going to clean out my junk closet and see if I can get some extra cash by selling them some stuff, I think anyone should drop by and check this place out. read more

Selling items: Staff if very rude and condescending. I believe this is due to them being used to dealing with crackheads all the time. So if you attempt to sell them something be ready to be treated like garbage and receive crackhead offers for your items. Buying items: Almost every used item in the store is priced as close to new retail price as possible. Don't expect to find any great deals. You're better off going online and searching best prices through Amazon or going to a retail store and buying brand new. Bottom line: Rude staff/management, Overpriced merchandise, you'll be treated like a drug addict. read more

Trade It used to be a store I enjoyed perusing and looking for good deals. As another reviewer noted - NO MORE! The items for sale are wildly over-priced for the most part AND you will get a fraction of a fraction of a fraction for your items. I used their lay away recently. I had used this in the past as well. I was told one thing by one of the nice sales reps and when I researched on my own and found information to be false, a surly, rather unprofessional older sales rep treated me rudely, dismissed what I was told previously, and charged me a restocking fee of ten dollars on a 25 dollar down payment. Yes, 10 dollars to walk to the back room and grab it and put it on the shelf. To his credit he did tell me that the restocking fee was listed on my receipt in the fine print. What service! That may be, but I wonder does it say it will almost be HALF of it? What if you put 20% down on a phone, jewelry, the incredibly over-priced tools that I can buy for almost the same price NEW at Lowes? Now, that must be some stellar stocking service. I then got my remaining 15 on store credit to spend on the wildly over-priced items. What service! And the piece de resistance was when he added after my unhappy chat with him that he would speak to the individual about what I was told. Really? Do you really think at this point I care about that? All I am thinking about is how someone just stole ten dollars from me with some ridiculous explanation. Again, WHAT SERVICE! Beware these folks. They are making money off of unsuspecting people who may trust them based on previous experiences but should be very, very, very careful. As far as I am concerned this was an act of thievery dressed up in store policies. You need to be most careful with dealing with a business of this ilk. My advice to you is to avoid them. try Ebay. try Craigslist. Go elsewhere. read more

i have been doing business with trade it since the had the 1st store in the are where circuit city use to be off skibo rd and they were called cash converters then. needless to say i have purchased thousands of dollars worth of electronics and other items and the people that are working in the sales dept. are always encouraging me to bring in items for cash or store credit. i brought in a brand new pioneer car navigation system, the lowest price on ebay was listed $349.00 (still in box). i took it to the bragg blvd store and this young man with hair to his shoulder offered me $10.00 cash and $15.00 store credit. i inform him that i had just checked ebay and he answered that they did not go by pricing on ebay. needless to say, i took my system home and i have not taken anymore items since. they do have a variety of items with some that are reasonably priced but they need to evaluate how some of the people working that are taking items are treating customers. read more
