Was researching shoes for an upcoming 5K and needed GREAT shoes. I read an article that said go to a store that specializes in running shoes. I didn't think we had a great store like that around, was going to try brands I liked that I knew they carried. I was so wrong! This place was far and above my expectations and exactly what the article mentioned. I spoke to a gal that was extremely knowledgeable about the two brands (Hoka and Brooks) that I was interested in. I explained what I wanted/needed, she made a few recommendations. I made the selections and she brought out several pairs of each. She had me sit and actually put the shoes on my feet! Made sure they were the proper fit, laced them up and had me walk around the store. It was incredible, I was over the moon with the store/clerk and the shoes were epic. I came to Bloomington today to visit my family and have dinner and left with three incredible pairs of shoes and a bundle of socks. Tradehome Shoes has it right. They have an excellent selection of shoes and accessories, but even more than that, the customer service is exceptional. It is the type of service that makes me want to drive an hour to buy shoes from them. My mother, who apparently frequents the shop enough to be greeted with a "Hey, great to see you again!" encouraged me to stop in to look. Although she also lives 45 minutes away, she not only has purchased many shoes there but actually brought friends back to buy shoes as well. Sam, the manager on duty, was hilarious, attentive and knowledgeable about the shoes. Without ever being pushy or aggressive he personally helped me try on at least 6 pairs of shoes and even brought shoes that he thought I might like. He was right...I bought two pairs that he suggested. The other assistant was funny and light as well, sharing her feelings about the shoes from the store that she likes and wears. They both laughed, chatted and joked with us, but never neglected a new patron who entered the store. I will certainly make the hour drive to return to this store. This is where my family goes when we need shoes... we regularly earn the $50 coupon, because we rarely need to go anywhere else. The manager Tiler, as well as many of the other employees, know us by sight and we always wave whenever we walk past the storefront. Not only are they friendly, but they all remember things about our family and go out of their way to ask us about those things. They go above and beyond to make sure we find what we need and of course have even special ordered items for us. Tiler and his crew know how to do customer service right. Bought my first pair of shoes from Tradehome in College Mall today. New Balance walking shoes. Near excellent fit right out of the box. Kamdyn my sales rep tweaked the left shoe a bit to accommodate my wayward little toe, and that did the trick. These guys have an easy going style & take time to discuss products with you. I visited Tradehome for the first time. I have had foot problems over the years. I got the best customer service from Tyler, the store manager, than I have had in Bloomington. He understood plantar fasciitis, which I had in the past. He also understood the foot swelling that I am having problems with now. He brought out more than one shoe that addresses these issues. He had me try on several combinations until I got just the right fit with great insoles. I got shoes and slippers that will prevent future plantar fasciitis and had a fit to accommodate swelling. I had a horrible experience at this store. The store was empty, and the salesperson was making small talk but not listening to my responses and repeatedly asked the same questions. I selected a pair of shoes and asked him to hold them for me because they were the last pair and I needed to do some other shopping in the mall. He agreed and took my name. I came back twenty minutes later and he had sold the shoes to another customer. He did not offer an alternative and acted like it was my problem for leaving. I will not shop here again. read more
