Trader Joe's as a company and brand are always a good bet, with quality products at reasonable prices, courteous service and management that truly values their customers. I do wish the Laguna Niguel location was larger with more variety, but there is a fairly good selection and I am impressed that the Trader Joe's company has kept prices the same or with moderate price increases, unlike many other food chains/stores. Extremely friendly TJs with the biggest parking lot I have ever seen for one. The people that work here are so sweet and helpful. They will talk your ear off, show you adorable pictures of their babies and costumes and drop whatever they are doing to help you find things. This TJs is one of the end of the trucking distribution line for deliveries of fresh flowers and plants, so if you go to other locations nearby they have more selection on flowers, plants and almost everything. But this one may be one the closest ones to the beaches so it is a great place to pick up a picnic, sunscreen and a reusable bag. I had to return something one time and the manager was a blonde bombshell who looked like she was cast in a lifetime movie for the role of grocery manager. I was impressed by the level of customer service she provided. She said "thank you for allowing me to correct this." I felt so good about returning it and shopping there because of how she handled it that I exchanged instead and started shopping there a lot more. read more

Always a nice experience. The options are limited but you cannot beat their prices. They do not carry every single item on my grocery list but I do buy my protein bars, specialty cheeses, olives, soups, hot dog buns, and cereal. All staff have always been energetic, nice and pleasant. read more

Trader Joe's always has what I need, the workers are always friendly, especially Kai who is great at the register. The store is a bit small, and is usually crowded, however you can almost always find a great selection of organic foods. Location wise, the Trader Joe's is conveniently located between several restaurants and across the street from Ralph's, which is a much bigger store and where you can get items that Trader Joe's might not have. The one disappointing thing about Trader Joe's, however, is that they discontinued the gummy tummy. Those things were amazing and I miss them. Please bring them back! read more

Hey TJ's please check your meats. I have purchased spoiled Ground Turkey before, but didn't complain till now. Purchased meat 2/10 with expiration 2/18. Cooked last night 2/13 -- and saw the color was partially grayish/brown (1st clue) was not paying attention till later & realized the package smelled like nasty wet dog or dirty socks... it was horrific! I love Trader Joe's but I hate dogs in stores where I buy food to feed my family. I think it's a health issues & im allergic. I find it rude that people presume that they can take a dog into a grocery store with food items. I watched the lady holding her long haired dog with one arm & reaching over & feeling fruit to see what she wanted to buy then someone patted the dog and did the same, touching food that I was waiting I long to also buy! I asked the check out girl do they allow dogs in the store (I know they don't)! she said unless they are a emotional support! i say to that stay home & order your groceries online & they will deliver, so you don't allergic a person with your dog hair on food we are going to eat!!! read more

Very friendly employees at this store. However, this evening, the cashier who checked me out was very ill. She was coughing so much that she had to ask a colleague to take over for a few minutes. One of my favorite stores for grocery shopping! They have a lot of cool items that other stores don't have! Loved their vegan pesto sauce, hummus and corn puff snack just to name a few!! The staff there are super friendly and helpful! My car's battery was dead a few months ago and one of their crew members actually helped me jump start my car so I can go home and call AAA!! I love Trader Joe's and have been coming here for over 10 years. 95% of the people have been terrific to me. I don't want to spoil that 95%. However, ever since the pandemic (not sure if it has anything to do with it) the attitude of some of the managers is very disrespectful and rude. I returned some items today. I have not returned anything in many months but occasionally we buy something that is rotten or doesn't taste right. This latest purchase included tomatoes that we bought that were molded. We bought a lot from Trader Joe's for holiday parties. I returned about 1% of what I have purchased at Trader Joe's. This one manager named Kevin or Devin (the receipt says Kevin but I thought his name tag said Devin) had a TERRIBLE attitude today. He was acting like I was returning a million $ dollars worth of items and that the entire state of CA living was dependent on him fighting hard not to let me return the items that were molded. It was $30 worth. Manager Kevin (or Devin) refunded me 0.02 cents for each of the 20oz tomatoes on the vine for a total of 4 cents. Trader Joe's and Kevin/Devin should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off customers. Unfathomable!!! See the pic that I posted. He said he would never return this much food. Well good for you Kevin. He said "You are returning all of this!!!! Ohh my gosh I have never seen this much food being returned." I find it hard to believe that He has never in his years seen anyone return this much food. $30 worth. I told him we have had holiday parties and the amount I have purchased here at Trader Joe's has been tremendous. The amount I am returning today is small portion and amount compared to the overall purchases I have made at TJs and it is relative. What a terrible nasty attitude Kevin / Devin has. This guy and his attitude would be great for the Army boot camp instructors but not a grocery store that prides itself on customer service. He missed his calling. After his disgusting attitude, I will go out of my way not to shop here as much. If another place has something similar I will buy it there. This experience is totally different than what it was like prior to the pandemic. I remember the managers and employees of TJ being so gracious, friendly so much so that I wanted to do even more business here and I have. Today that stops. Trader Joe's was the number 1 place to shop for me and my family. But with the attitude of Kevin / Devin, I don't want to be treated like I am a thief for making the terrible mistake of buying some of their foods that were rotten. This same foods we buy all the time for years and have never returned. We had the misfortune of buying a bad batch I guess. I had the receipt with me. Whole Foods has not changed and continues to have great customer service. He was also supposed to give me back my original receipt but he did not. Be careful Trader Joe's. You can get away with treating some customers like crap. I can take Kevin / Devin and his miserable disrespectful attitude. I just hope he doesn't treat the elderly that way. I love Trader Joe's, but boy is this location claustrophobic. The store is quite small, but to make it worse all the staff were out on the floor stocking shelves during peak time in the store. I usually love TJ's and all their stores make grocery shopping a really safe and enjoyable experience for me but this store just gets really busy really fast. I have to give Trader Joe's a shout out for how you handled Covid and your employees and customers. From free flowers leaving the store, to live music while waiting in line, free water on hot days and a squirt of hand sanitizer, I always have a great experience. Some of our favorite foods are of course the fruit and veggies , bambino's frozen pizza, frozen breaded chicken, jasmine rice, chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels, green juice, (of course), Sambucol chewable vitamins, cheese, bread, meat (filet mignon) seriously, everything is good!! Trader's Joe's sells water in plastic bottles under their name. They charge a recycling fee on each bottle. The problem is this, no recycling for these bottles is available. If Trader joe's collects money on each bottle sold then they should provide a recycling center for the return of their plastic water bottles. I asked employees at the Trader Joe's in Dana Point and San Clemente and was told to toss the bottles in my recycling trash bin. Trader's takes a refundable fee up front without provide a method for the customer to be reimbursed by failing to provide recycling for their plastic water bottles. Hmmm! nice little profit for Trader joes at the customer expense. read more

Love this company and this location is great - even when crowded as it is a bit small - great food and TJ products that they will take back if you don't like them without a hassle. Great coffee, yogurt, and organic milk. Nice produce. Good tasting healthy ingredient cereals for the kids. Healthy bread both hard and soft. Interesting and tasty snacks and pre-pared meals and appetizers. I had the worst experience ever at this Trader Joe's in Laguna Niguel. I'm a proud Black Woman & I've shopped at Trader Joe's since the 80's( 34yrs)... living in West Los Angeles & now TEMECULA . I , walked into this Trader Joe's today around 1pm & the spirit was bad. First the Crew Members at this Trader Joe's , didn't speak or ask if you need any help. They looked at me and then look away. I'm like what is this all about!! I know I must be the only black person in here and in the area. Customers there looked as if they saw a ghost . This is 2017 people!!! The only person that said hello and how are you was Crew Member; ERIC FISHER OF TRADER JOE'S. He was the cashier & I told him about my horrible experience & he apologized for his peers. This was TOTALLY UN EXCEPT-ABLE!!!!!! Eric, told me to speak to the head manager, which was Rick . I did and I shared my experience with him. He also apologized as well & said that's not good for any customer & he would speak too his staff. I sincerely hope that Rick.....will follow through with what he told me. BEWARE. TJ's sells expired food. 2 day old bread. Literally. Bought an "organic french baguette" tonight Aug 9th, for a special meal. We start the meal and the bread is STALE and awful. Reason? IT EXPIRED Aug 7, two days ago. Like I'm really going to take 40 minutes out of my life to return a loaf of stale bread. We can't even trust TJ's to sell fresh food now?
