I visited this store few days ago after my doctor's appointment and had a very unexpected experience. All my previous visits to any Trader Joe's locations had been very pleasant, including this location in the past. Cashier, Maria, didn't even greet the customer and her entire body language said " I don't like what I do". No smile, no eye contact and can barely hear what she said. A man who came to bagged the groceries was not much better. So very disappointing. read more

We love going to Trader Joe's. I guess we just had a bad experience here. The cashier who was Caucasian with glasses had an attitude. Don't give attitude. You're supposed to have customer service. Yes, I had kids and he could have been nice to them and offer stickers. I didn't even want to ask him because he was already so annoyed. Come on dude! He could have been nicer. We had two baskets full of stuff over 200 bucks worth. Then the next day as I was making sandwiches the bread already was molded! Mold! How sad... The stuff ain't so fresh at this location. Trader Joe's (TJ's) frozen food aisle! That's where it's at. Love their garlic fries, fish nuggets, butter chicken, taquitos, tamales, and the list goes on. TJ's also got a decent produce section and a variety of snacks as well. Absolutely nothing to be dissatisfied. Checkout was a breeze. Adequate checkout lanes were open. This is a smaller store but at least there is one in Napa! We love their cheese selection and they have nice flowers!! The staff is as always so nice and helpful. The only negative is the parking here is not so good! It's a small lot and there are quite a few great stores in this center so it makes it tough but still a good stop! read more

When I lived in Napa this was one of my favorite stores to shop at. Always great prices and always excellent foo to choose from. I loved their crumpets, something you just cant get elsewhere. I also loved the shortbread cookies and the chocolate lace cookies. Both items at prices others cant beat. The Mediterranean salad mix was always a hit. Something different but really good. And their spinach lasagna is wonderful. And many of their frozen pizzas come from Italy. You can really tasted the difference. Great place to shop read more

I really like this location. I've been shopping at Trader Joe's for years, in various locations and states. This particular location is extremely pleasant and consistent with the Trader Joe's brand. The staff is always busy yet friendly and willing to offer assistance when needed. Some of my favorite items are the frozen cauliflower fried rice, Hansen's diet ginger soda and Joe's Joe's cookies. Parking is slightly hectic due to the busy location so expect to walk a little depending on time of day. read more

I'm a regular TJs customer and have been to several up and down Southern and Central California. Have even been to their stores in Las Vegas and other western States. Being it was my first trip to Napa, I half expected the Napa TJs to be stocked with some very interesting if not high-quality items. However and to my disappointment, I found the Napa TJs to be ordinary and somewhat less stocked then many of the TJs I've been to. It had some different items, but nothing to shout about. read more

This is a very busy store with high volume, high traffic and unfortunately the staff sometimes negatively responding to this workload. They are pleasant at best and occasionally snarky. If i have the opportunity, i choose to go elsewhere. read more

The employees: kind like...However every time I'm in there shopping for my weekly dining there is a young woman with the name tag: Shay who seems to be almost bullying her co workers! EVERY TIME, every time, I go into Trader Joes, I leave with a smile. I walk in with a bit of guilt as I never have my bags with me. My check out cash register guy was in his early 20s. He respectfully joked with me about "bag shaming" me. I found all that I needed and more. The staff always makes you feel welcomed, even when they are running around like Santa's Elves, stocking the shelves at a rapid pace. They welcomingly stop what they are doing and answer your questions, concerns and even walk you to the section to help you find something. I can't say enough. I love this place. read more

Who in their right mind doesn't love Trader Joe's?? I literally go here every week and I am addicted to a lot of their products. Can't live without them! My first experience with TJs was in Raleigh, NC. We were getting our first Trader Joes and people were excited. It was the talk of the town! When I walked in the door for the first time, I remember only being impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The vegan options, organic produce and bakery options were very limited. It was just a big room full of processed foods! Fast forward 6 years...Yes, it is still full of processed foods but the number of organic, vegan, bakery and whole foods options offered now has grown exponentially! And the prices are really good. I am often finding myself getting about half of my groceries here before heading to Whole Foods. I have found an organic tofu that is just as good as the Wildwood brand for much less. Tofurky "sausage", organic soy nice cream, a cheese-free pizza, dark chocolate and much more that are as good as (or better) than their name brand competitors! The wine and beer section is good sized and customer service is always happy to help me find vegan-friendly beer, cider and wine. The staff is still friendly and fun! The reason I can only give a 4 is because of the produce section. While the number of organic options has grown, much of the produce travels vast distances to get to us. It often goes bad almost as soon as I get home. And this ranges from the berries to the onions to the avocado. While I still sometimes get peppers and bananas from Trader Joes, I typically pay a little more and buy locally or from Whole Foods. With the cost of groceries being so high in California and the premium charged for organic, Trader Joes offers some much needed relief without having to compromise on the quality of the food. read more

all i need to say is Mustafah!! This kid is the best cashier i have ran into in a long time, he was working the express lane with 15 items or less and I probably had 18 but he waive me in anyways, got me in and out of there in about 40 seconds. We made small talk ask me how I was doing I said great he was doing good total positive attitude between the two of us we fumbled my avocado and hit the ground.He was ready to go grab me a new one and I told him it was OK. I'm going to mash it up anyways.He told me to enjoy the rest of my morning. Are you effing kidding me, this kids got class. Top-notch Cashier.I hope other grocery stores read this review because it's hard to get a smile out of most.Keep up the good work Mustafah. Yesterday we went in to buy some wine.Found what we wanted although the labels were stained by what looked like leakage from a broken bottle. Staff were friendly and helpful,and their wine selection has to be one of the best! Then we bought some lamb and potatoes.Potatoes were great. But the lamb - New Zealand lamb chops from Adkins Ranch - were off,although well within the use by date,and looking delightful. The first clue was the double plastic wrapping with a slight bulge. The second clue was the smell which was very very gamey and not in a good way. Despite this we persevered,and grilled them.One bite was gag inducing. Very much off to the point of rotten. I would avoid the meat counter in this store. read more

Alright, I went to Napa with a friend and we were staying at Silverado. She was escorting a bunch of Tennessee alumni and supporters to the Cal game at the beginning of the season. Needless to say, by the time we made it up to Napa for their excursion, we were exhausted! Yes, I feel a bit ridiculous about being in the middle of Napa Valley and doing a TJ's run to stock our kitchen. But the truth was, we hadn't seen each other in years and we really just wanted to hang mellow and catch up a bit. So, I do not regret not having gone wine tasting. I do not regret not having going out for an overpriced dinner. But I do however feel a little weird about buying wine at TJ's in the middle of one of the finest wine countries in all of the world. It's funny because I've got to disagree with Brice on this one... Trader Joe's are always insanely crowded. I've come to brace for it... I've come to expect it, even, since after all such an awesome grocery store *SHOULD* be crowded... The awesome prices aren't going to stay a secret for long... Certainly not in a foodie's paradise like the Bay Area. Anyway, I've been here three or four times now and I have to say as far as Trader Joe's is concerned, Brice, this ain't crowded... Not even by a long shot! Now try their Concord, Walnut Creek, San Francisco (SoMa), West Hills, and San Diego (Hillcrest) locations and that will give you a different perspective on crowded-ness. In fact, I think Merriam Webster may want to update their definition for the word: Crowd-ed (\'kraud-ed\) see Trader Joe's. But no... this Napa Valley location, while certainly not being void of populace, hasn't been crowded on the weekends I was here. Nevertheless, they got all the goodies you've come to expect: Yummy frozen Mac & Cheese, flatbread pizza, Mediterranean Hummus, Raclette cheese, etc, etc. And the cashier was so cool and friendly too... I swear these guys must be force-fed Prozac... I wish I could be as happy as they are all the time, especially dealing with what I imagine is their fair share of stupid customers. Went here a few weeks ago. Service was outstanding. The staff was very nice and helpful. Hey pumpkin lovers, Trader Joe's has lots of pumpkin inspired treats for the season. The Greek style pumpkin yogurt is okay, but the pumpkin bread pudding in the freezer section is better. The pumpkin butter is good. Yet perhaps best of all is the pumpkin ice cream. So, delicious! Next time you have a craving for something pumpkin, try Trader Joe's. read more

Not going to have everything that a family needs, however for singles and couples it is fantastic. Selection is definitely smaller then a regular grocery store, but they have all the essentials and there is no decision paralysis because of the many varieties. They strike a balance between quality and price, more so then any other chain that I know. Produce and Fruit are decent, and the price reflects very good value for what you get. The store members are very helpful and there is a no ask reason why return policy. Good selection of frozen food and many fresh produce with new things that pop up as the season changes. Overall, I come here probably way too much and there are probably god reasons why I always come back, there isn't anything better at the moment. read more

Trader Joe's has,believe it or not,the best prices in the Bay Area! I've always been a fan of TJ's since growing up in Southern California, and drinking down Sir Strawberry. TJ's has a variety of marvelous products-masala tandoori naan, the vegetable masala burgers, wine at reasonable prices, the best Alfredo and marinara sauces ever, and great deals on the basics. They're carrying chutney again, thank goodness! They also have great sausage, along with deals on fresh fruits and vegetables. As always, TJ's has great service, a fun tasting station, and perpetually hot coffee! read more

Although, a few of my vegan favorites have been missing the last few months (TJ-label Chocolate Chip cookies and the soy meatballs)..... I went in here three times hoping the second or third time would change my mind about the place, it hasn't. It's ALWAYS crowded no matter what time of day you go and everyone seems to be in a hurry but seem to take at least half an hour browsing everything, as such they appear to have sticks crammed up their asses and don't seem to respect those of us who wish to casually find what we want and then leave (which I used to do at Safeway until I realized the only way to do this was to get at 4am and Albertson's until they changed to Lucky's and changed a few things to tick me off, other stores other reviews). The store is arranged in a manner as to that I can't grasp. Granted it took me a while to figure out other stores but this place just seems impossible (at least to me). Combined with the clintele, horrid parking I'd just as soon avoid it especially when Whole Foods is opening. Maybe when they do it'll become less crowded. Don't let my review stop you from trying this place out. I've got plenty of friends who swear by this joint. read more

Trader Joes Napa is my store. I shop here weekly for all of my main grocery shopping here. The food is always fresh and I love the employees who are always a huge help. If they are out of a product on the shelf they can usually always find it for you in the back. I feed my family mostly organic and they have just about everything organic that I need. I like the fact they support small farmers in this and other countries. Will always be a TJ supporter. (the parking lot sucks) read more

I wish Trader Joe's had fresher organic vegetable selections. It's really hard to tell how fresh vegetables are especially when their packaged. There've been several occasions I've gotten home and found that the vegetables were not as fresh as I had hoped. Unfortunately when you're in the middle of cooking it's kind a hard to return something that isn't that bad but you know it's not the best quality. I do like Trader Joe's for their packaged organic and other selections, like they're organic teas. I also love their eggplant hummus. There are a lot of organic selections that I can buy here much cheaper than other stores, like Stevia and veggie burgers. So I stick to the package and bottled items but I go to other stores for fresh choices. read more

Reasons why: - they are well-stocked in everything I want - only a 10 minute drive from American Canyon - healthy choices - less crowded than the Daly City location However.... the store is located in a cramp plaza with the worst parking lot design EVER!!! This TJ's is like any other TJ's, but it's cleaner and better stocked. Happened to drop in because I was curious... Parking lot is crowded thanks to the Whole Foods a few doors down and Target across the way. It's a packed place on the weekend and I seriously doubt it's not any better during the weekdays. I dread seeing this place the day before Christmas or the day before Thanksgiving. While the store and the staff were friendly, pity the same thing couldn't be said for the patrons. There is some serious bitchery brewing in Napa and it isn't pretty. read more

Normally I would only give 4 stars for a chain. But - this is a great location, the parking is decent and somebody only gave 1 star so I am trying to even it out. There are full grown trees in the parking lot. For reals. General nice people work here just like at all the Trader Joe's. GREAT TJ's!!! We were staying in Napa at the Marriott and needed a few things - water, snacks, etc. and while in the wine section (yeah, yeah, buying wine @ TJ's while in Napa, but you gotta do what you gotta do!), the guy working in that section was so helpful and so friendly!!! He had some great suggestions on local wines that we enjoyed in our room (when we weren't visiting the wineries). He went out of his way to help everyone who asked about wine (that's enough to keep him busy all day alone!). We'll be back! read more
