Our first visit to Trader Joe's was outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel welcome. Twice, we asked staff on the floor for help finding items--and both times they didn't just point us in the right direction, they personally walked us over and made sure we found exactly what we needed. That level of service is rare. At checkout, the cashier was genuinely friendly and engaging, which added to the overall experience. We also had an unfortunate moment where we accidentally dropped a bottle and it broke. We felt terrible but the staff handled it with kindness and professionalism, immediately putting us at ease without making us feel uncomfortable. That kind of customer care leaves a lasting impression. You've definitely won us over we'll be back. Five stars honestly don't feel like enough for a first experience like this. read more

To us, Trader Joe's is for coffee and wine, and some silly treat that catches our eye. This Joe's was busy, the aisles were clean, and the staff were nice. Produce was fresh, flowers were fresh. The customers can be a little overly-hurried, especially in the parking lot. I'm not telling you anything you dont know. I said coffee. It surprises me that there is not a whole lot of variety in sourcing and roast-styles. This Joe's has a small coffee section in the back left corner, around 40 options. Somehow the selection seemed rather sparse. Maybe they've been outdone by local roasters. Poor me, right? Well, I saw two dark roasts, and I grabbed 100% Trader-Joe's-brand arabica French roast whole beans. At home, they looked gorgeously shiny and the aroma was rich. They tasted quite good! Fresh and bold without excess acid or bitterness. Ok, Joe's, well-done. We headed for the wine corner, and were rewarded with tiny samples of a smooth whiskey and a fresh nut-mix, offered by a bold fellow with a short distinctively-curly mustache. We scanned the wines and got an inexpensive $5.50 Espiral Portuguese Vinho Verde, a very-light slightly-sparkling slightly-sweet white wine. Typically it's thought of as a summer wine to drink chilled for any non-serious pairing with non-serious food. We like it because, as long as it's not flat and not a noticeably sour brand, vinho verde is a nice year-round evening-blurry treat. And we got some mixed-flowers for a bright reminder of a pleasant shopping experience. read more

Probably my favorite Trader Joe's in the bay area! Every location has chaos, especially in the parking lot any day and time of day so you really can't avoid it. But this one is the best experience I've had getting in and out. Something about being in a Trader Joe's just feels so nice, and different from other grocers. From the color signage, to really good prices and unique offerings, all of it is worth the hype. The workers also light up the store. They're always so kind and wanting to help however they can. Trader Joe's for the win (again)! The staff here are seriously the best , always super friendly and happy to help you find anything on your list. You can tell they actually enjoy what they do. The store's always clean, organized, and just has that good Trader Joe's vibe. I grabbed a bottle of La Sonriente Garnacha (2023) for only $6.99, and let me tell you total steal. It's smooth, flavorful, and mild enough to sip on its own but still tasty with food. Honestly feels like a much fancier bottle than the price tag. Paired it with Trader Joe's Lamb Vindaloo and oh man... The lamb is tender, the curry sauce has that perfect spicy kick, and the basmati rice ties it all together. So good! 10/10 meal for under $15. First time in this place and I hope not the last. It's a busy, frenetic spot on 4th just NW of downtown. The first clue I had about the level of activity in relation to size came from the parking lot: "Very cramped!" It got no better once inside the store, and I went on a weekday morning too. To say the store had narrow aisles and little turning room is a generous understatement. They provide small shopping carts to go with the small aisles; save yourself some trouble and go midweek! You'll save yourself some grief and annoyance. It's like grocery shopping in NYC; lotsa people, lotsa stuff; little room to move, breathe or even think that much! Once in there, however, the amount of variety and sheer numbers of products is pretty good. Trader Joe's depends on higher quality products at fair prices. For the most part I'd say that holds true in this store too. Lotsa variety in organic and vegetarian products particularly. Produce selection was limited but everything in stock was top notch fresh wise. We had no shopping list or fixed agenda; it was more spur of the moment if anything. So our we walked with a couple bags of pasta, a few beverages and a couple of bottles of red wine. The wine selection is actually quite nice; better than the average corner liquor shop, in fact! I had to use the restroom while we were there. I found 'em in the back near the produce department. Two unisex/family type restrooms available; it seemed reasonably clean and tidy. Just remember that it's a busy store. The employees all seemed quite friendly and happy to be there. Queen Bee bumped into one of 'em who turned out to be a Brooklyn transplant. QB called me over so the two of us could "talk shop" awhile. Pleasant lady by the name of Genevieve; let's hope she stays there awhile! Another employee named CJ steered us toward a closed register and told us he was opening. Yay! The lines were getting kinda long, so it was CJ to the rescue! When the Queen Bee said it's our first time there, he welcomed us. He also told us about Trader Joe's refund policy, which is a lot more generous than the local Piggly Wiggly, etc. A very outgoing and friendly young fellow who also seems like a good ambassador for the place. So definitely not a store for the faint of heart or weak if spirit. It definitely reminds me of NYC grocery stores for sure; just much better quality and more reasonable prices. It's also a lot tidier and friendlier for that matter. If U like the Trader Joe's lifestyle then this place is definitely for U. Trader Joe's has friendly employees 98% of the time. The one or two times over dealt with an employee that wasn't tbe frieniest, they didn't last long at Trader Joe's. I'm pretty sure it's a requirement. The employees are always helpful, even if you have to return an items for whatever reason. The store is always clean and well organized. Everything flows well except for the flower section and the parking lot. The flower section is at the entrance, so it makes it hard to get in sometimes, or if you want to look at the floors, two people with carts will prevent that from happening. As for the parking lot, it's small and can be difficult to navigate , it's scary The produce is nice and ripe, and they rotate it and monitor it so there is never rotten fruit or veggies. The products are great, but it can be frustrating when they stop carrying a product . Overall, it is a great store with delicious products and an amazing staff. read more

This store is always clean, well stocked, and every employee is friendly and offers assistance. Stopped in today for items we like a lot; i.e., olive oil. gyozas, tomatoes and eggs. The variety of apples is superb, and the English peas rock. Produce and fruits are always fresh, the cheeses are delicious and there is a wide variety of unique conditments. Guilty pleasure today? Ghost pepper potato chips! Hot and crispy for sure. I do share what I believe to be a common complaint, though. Trader Joe's needs to have more locations. ABOVE and BEYOND! I requested a flower bucket and Arianna went back to get one for me. She mentioned that they were having plumbing problems in the back so there was no water to add. Driving by and saw the store and decided to see what all the buzz was about after years of hearing about them. First thing I noticed was that it was extremely small compared to other grocery stores and the packed parking lot meant packed grocery store due to the size. The main aspect is they don't hall all the middle aisle crud most grocery stores have and a more of a necessities stock versus processed boxes. That said I left buying one item a desert ring I had tasted before at a friends. We didn't find the offerings really appealing and the products didn't gear towards our needs. It appeared that they attract the 40 and under age group and that ship sailed a long time ago for us and we won't be back as it wasn't for us. read more

Last month one of my granddaughter called to tell me gift card did not work. I called corporate to look into the card I purchased. They informed me it was already redeemed, which was impossible. Always a preference for my shopping! Their fruits are hit or miss and limited veggies but they have so many unique veg and vegan offerings that it is even worth the current 10-15 minutes waiting in line to get in! They have now kale gnocchi and it is actually a majority kale...vs the other guys that is primarily flour and Kale is the 3rd ingredient. Also note the nut butters...If I am not making my own ...this is the next best thing price to quality Note: Without going crazy mad, TJ's will let you and in a reserved way encourages shoppers to actually open and try things they are not sure about before purchasing! This TJ's is never not busy. The next closest store is either in Tampa or Sarasota. Despite having so many people shop at the St. Pete store, the staff does an excellent job keeping the most popular products in stock. Their recent Fall shipment has been BOMB. I've already been back twice to stock up. You need the following items in your life: -cinnamon bun spread (life-changing, you can thank me later) -fall harvest salsa -fall leaf tortilla chips (shaped like leaves) -pumpkin butter spread -fall zucchette pasta (shaped like pumpkins) -autumn harvest creamy sauce (pair it with the zucchette pasta) -pumpkin pancake mix -Apple pie jam spread -pumpkin cinnamon buns (fridge section) -dark chocolate peanut butter cups (these aren't fall, but they're in the store all year long and are so good) -butternut squash Mac and cheese (I bought six boxes ha!) -Mac and cheese balls Parking there is a nightmare so, good luck! I have yet to go into ANY TJ's and not be lost for a good hour, grabbing my favorites and seeing new, sometimes seasonal, favorites. The customer service is on par all the time. You always hit more red lights on the way home when you have to pee. Staring at a pot of water will make it boil faster. All Trader Joe's have terrible parking lots. These are just some pretty simple facts of life we have all come to accept. In all seriousness though, the 4th st Trader Joe's parking scene is actually one of the least offensive I have encountered. It's pretty tight still and walking back to your car with your cart after your shopping trip is like being stuck in a video game. If you've been to Joe's you already know. They are staffed well here and usually have at least 3 checkout lanes open! I find this location to be a letdown on seasonal offerings. It might just be so popular that I can never get there until things sell out-and so if that's the case, I guess this review should act as a warning: get there early. The flowers are lovely, as always so well priced. And duh-the wine. We love the wine. As of Oct 2020, this location is no longer limiting patrons for social distancing. There is more to Trader Joe's than people often realize! Ok, I am biased, as I love all Trader Joe's but as with anywhere, there are specific things that really shine. I typically hit 4-5 grocery stores in total because there are specific items that they all do well (TJs, Rolling Oats, Fresh Market, Publix, and Whole Foods-when I am close to one). My go tos: 1- Flowers - Absolutely the best value for flowers, herbs, and succulents around. The quality is comparable, if not better than Fresh Market, at a MUCH lower price point. These things really last. You often have to put the arrangements together yourself, though. I bought flowers 1 week ago, and they look the same as the day I bought them! SEE PIC. Got 2 bunches of gardenias and 1 of eucalyptus, which totaled $16. At Fresh Market, this would have cost $25+. 2- Frozen goods- This is my go to for frozen food. They have a wide assortment of organic, fruits and veggies, for low prices, in addition to loads of yummy pizzas, and meals for 1. The frozen meals and pizzas are also delicious with way fewer preservatives than are typically found in frozen foods. Some favorites are the frozen brown rice (individual bags that you just throw into the microwave), ham, onion, and gruyere tarte, butter chicken, and sweet potato gnocci! YUM. 3- Breads- They have some great bread options, also with few preservatives and additives. My favorite is the whole wheat tuscan pane. Also, regarding COVID, I'd have to say that this store has handled COVID, better than any other I frequent, since the start. They have found a way to enforce social distancing and masks, while showing their customers appreciation and gratitude. From handing out water bottles, to providing shelter from the sun to folks online outside the store waiting to get in (due to reduced capacity limitations), they have done an absolutely amazing job, while keeping everyone safe. read more

We must be the last people to shop at Trader Joe's. We stopped by to see what all the fuss was about. The store is a bit more cramped than other grocery stores. There isn't a butcher or fish monger area. However, the fresh produce was something beautiful to behold. Most of the items that are for sale are the store's own brand. We were there because I'm addicted to their Christmas Cookies (the Mint Stars!) As you might imagine the prices for the fresh produce were a little higher than other store but not that much more. They do offer a large variety of products for those folks who have either food allergies or strict dietary regimes. Trader Joe's has a host of items that you can't find elsewhere. However, it isn't a full-on grocery store. It can be difficult to find a parking place on Saturdays. We will definitely drop back by! read more

The BEST selection of already made foods and snacks. I will cry every day until they build a Trader Joe's close to me. I happened to be close by for a meeting and thought hey, I haven't been in Trader Joe's for a while, let's see what they have. I made the mistake of asking the question what should I get to a group text that has about eight people. They all had a million Trader Joe favorites. I panicked, I grabbed a ton of stuff, walked around the store three times, and then left. Here are a few things I noticed. CHEESE SELECTION - I have always been a huge fan of their cheese selection. This time I grabbed a truffle cheese. It was good, but I didn't really taste the truffle, which leads me to my favorite snack. NUTS - They have truffle almonds! These are the tastiest things ever and have a strong truffle flavor. I have hidden them with the baby food so nobody else touches them. They have a great variety of different flavors of nuts. SNACKS - Their fig and olive crackers are amazing. I love their sweet plantains as well. Whatever snacks you grab, you can't go wrong. RANDOM OTHER FOODS - I really enjoyed their chocolate hummus. It's under $2 and I ate it with a spoon. I also grabbed some butternut squash ravioli and tortellini to boil and serve to my baby. They have such an interesting array of frozen foods/pre made foods. Since I don't like to cook, their pre made food really appeals to me. However, when confronted with such a huge variety, I tend to panic. Next time, I'm going to have to thoughtfully research what I want to get and go. The one negative is the parking lot. I will never go to Trader Joe's unless it is on a weekday in the middle of the day. read more

My local Trader Joe's is one of the most well stocked and appropriately sized that I've been to for its market sized. Been to the one in dc, Philly, Tampa and they are absolute zoos. Those are sold out of almost everything, lines around the stores and shopping while you wait in the check out line, need for parking valet. The st Pete location is great and usually you can get in and out easily. They usually have all the special, seasonal, and normal products with 99% being in stock. 4/5 would recommend to a friend. Any TJ's is a must but this one specifically is a yes!! I'll go ahead and get the parking situation out of the way. Yes, the lot is busy and tight but even if you have to circle once you will find a spot and what's inside is worth it. Trust. I would recommend grabbing their newsletter to find out what's what and any new products/food items they are featuring that month. They also have recipes and give you an update on what measures they are taking on going green, any initiatives they have in the community etc. Their produce is always super fresh, great quality and amazing prices. Seriously, you can't beat these prices! The store is also laid out really well. If you need some milk, it's right up front. Same with the eggs and bread! Super nice! This is also a one stop grocery store. You can get spices, obscure ingredients, fresh meats, fish, bakery items all at this location!! Who doesn't love that! Let me brag on the staff for a moment. They are so friendly, kind, eager to help, and REALLY cool people. It's not fake customer service. They are genuinely happy to be at work and TJs is consistently ranked one of the best places to work! I love Trader Joes! It makes me happy walking in there. I normally don't leave without some flowers, they make a perfect addition to my home. A couple years ago I use to think Trader Joes was very expensive (although I had never been there), I just assumed it was. When I finally decided to check it out, I was pleasantly surprised. One of the smaller Trader Joe's I've been into, so don't expect to be able to do all your grocery shopping here. However for stocking up on some weekly necessities or last minute snacks, this is a great store to check out. There's a decent amount of parking here; I've never struggled to find a spot like how I have at the Publix downtown, so that's really nice. The store is laid out well but not like your typical grocery store with aisles displaying signs overhead for what's down them, so you're first experience here might be your longest as you find everything. Associates are super helpful though! I come here to get my snacks. There's an herbs & spices popcorn for $1.99 that's delicious & the bag is about the same size as the Smartfood White Cheddar popcorn too, so plenty to enjoy. I'll usually pick up some sort of dried fruit and some nuts while I'm here; it's often cheaper here with more variety than Publix and even Walmart sometimes, and this way I get to customize my trail mix and snack bags. The cashiers here are always quick and efficient, with usually at least half the registers open every time I've been in. They still use paper bags at Trader Joe's & they're fairly durable, but just keep it in mind if case you're buying cold or refrigerated items that the bags absorb some of that condensation while you're on your way home. There's an easy solution though: just bring your own reusable bags if you know you're buying that kind of stuff. read more

Love the staff and the specialty items here. Everyone's so nice and helpful, plus I can pick up Pumpkin Seed crackers when they're in season. Yum! I wish there was a Trader Joe's closer to me, but this will suffice. I can't really say whether this is a great place to continue to buy groceries -- I assume it's fine.
