Service here is consistently on point. Our waitress was chill, friendly, and genuinely attentive -- checked on us regularly without being overbearing, and was super accommodating throughout. Strong rum, that signature cinnamon flavor, a nice kick and just enough spice to keep things interesting. Also a 9/10 -- it earns it every time. We also tried one of their rotating specialty cocktails -- a Safari something -- which leaned a little sweeter than the other two but was still very solid. A respectable 8/10 for something we'd never had before. Pricing runs $16-$20 a drink, which is reasonable for the size and quality -- especially at Disneyland. The souvenir cups are sold separately at $30, so you're looking at roughly $50 total if you want your drink served in one. Cute concept, but we passed. On our last day at the Disneyland Hotel, we decided to get lunch at Trader Sam's before embarking on our 1.5 hour (minimum) drive home. Since I just had a poke bowl the prior night, I didn't want another, even though it was probably what I would've ordered. Most other dishes were with pork, which I don't eat. Instead, I ordered chicken tenders, which is so NOT what I would EVER order, but I did on this day. The chicken was not overly greasy, and it had good flavor. The fries were even better. The poke bowl looked gorgeous, and the 3 others who got that said it was delicious, although not nearly as much salmon as they were hoping for... and it had way too much rice. (Those of us who had poke bowls from the previous night had loads of ahi tuna and the perfect amount of rice.) My husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger, something I'd never get. Trader Sam's is one of the most quintessential places to go on Disney property. The wait times here can get pretty crazy, especially if you go at night. Also, if you want the full experience you have to drink and dine inside. I do enjoy the drinks and the food here, but this place is very much about the show as well. When you order certain drinks on the menu the bartenders and servers put on a production that includes fun lights and sounds, volcanoes going off, ships sinking, chanting and the guests getting sprayed with water. Oh, and who can forget the cow bell! On this visit, we just came in for drinks. I ordered the Shipwreck on the Rocks and my friend ordered the Krakatoa Punch. Both of the drinks come with a little show anytime they are ordered. They also put on a show if you order the "Uh Oa" which includes chanting and fire. It's just so fun. My family had a magical experience at Trader Sam's Tiki Bar located at the Disneyland Hotel. This bar has indoor and outdoor seating. If you sit outside, you have a great view of the pool plus cozy couch/lounge seating on the patio lined with tiki torches. Sitting inside is where the real experience is. Trader Sam's is inspired by Disneyland's Adventure Land so there are nods to rides like Jungle Cruise and Indiana Jones and the Tiki Room show. The bartenders here really put on a show! When customers order certain cocktails, there are interactive elements within the bar. I won't ruin them for you, you'll have to experience the magic for yourself! We ended our Wednesday night here, hoping to get to see the enchanted Tiki bar. The weight was a little long, but the outside was still very nice to enjoy, so we sat outside and looked at the pretty decorations, and the warm tiki lamps. I really enjoyed the Mojito with dragon berry mixed in. My partner also had the same thing. They came in tall high ball glasses. Our friends had a little bit short of drinks, but they were as good as well. It was really nice to be in the middle of the Disneyland resort hotel. This Tiki Bar is located at the Disneyland Hotel. The bartenders are what makes this place. Sadly, I haven't had a chance to sit inside, but apparently they put on a little show based on the drinks you order. When I came, I sat outside since we were short on time. They don't do the show for drinks when seated outside. RESERVATIONS: You are able to book 60 days in advance to make reservations. Highly recommend booking inside as it's more of a fun experience. You must cancel at least 2 hours prior to your reservation to avoid a per person cancellation fee. You are able to walk in and put your name on the waitlist. PARKING: It is very close to Downtown Disney, but be aware that they do not validate parking for you if you park at the Downtown Disney parking. They can only validate for Hotel parking. You can park at the hotel for free as long as you get it validated. ANGUS HAWAIIAN CHEESEBURGER: $28 Comes with Applewood-Smoked Bacon, Grilled Pineapple, Havarti Cheese, Togarashi Aïoli, Teriyaki Sauce, and served with French Fries. I paid for the upgrade to get sweet potato fries. Overall this was okay and came out as expected. Drinks come with a souvenir cups (the visual on their drink menu is what your cup would be), however you don't HAVE to pay that price for the cup. You can just get a drink in a simple plain boring looking cup too haha. PIRANHA POOL: This drink comes with Strawberry Vodka, Crème of Coconut, Strawberry Purée, and Pineapple Juice. I got this drink and it was quite refreshing and definitely on the stronger side for me (or I'm getting old haha). For instance, when a certain cocktail was ordered he would yell"snowstorm" and throw crushed ice, and for a rainstorm he would pull out a bottle and "make it rain." You're able to put your name on the waitlist through the app, but we walked up at around 8:30 and got seated at the bar right away. The vibes inside are top notch, you feel like you're being transported to a different place. It was definitely on the sweeter side, and you could barely taste the alcohol, so I recommend if that's your kind of drink. So...this is one of the more difficult Disney reservations to get via the app. They do have walk-ins and an outdoor seating area with different menu- but indoors is the place to be! Indoors, it's pretty limited seating: Tables - there are very few, about 6 and there are several high top tables too as well as some individual seats at the bar. There is a wheelchair accessible seating (for two over by the restrooms). Bar stools are way too far back for ladies and fixed in place - no purse hooks on left side of bar but there are purse hooks on right side of bar. These seats are really uncomfortable but they move up and down during some of the mini "shows." Three drinks trigger a mini show! *Krakatoa - red glow cube and triggers the window "view" volcano to erupt... *Shipwreck - Bartenders yell, "Who built this ship?" and "Ship is going down!" as they spray water from a bottle into air around patrons... *Uh Oha - A huge rum bowl for two that will cause your server to light it on FIRE and shake a tambourine will the cast members chant, "Uh Oha! Uh Oha! Uh uh uh!" Pro tip: No validation if you park in Downtown Disney but three hour validation if you park at the Disneyland Hotel since this is technically at the hotel. First time visit to Trader! Sam's (never went as a CM 2010-2015). Boy did I miss out MAJOR-LY!!!! (Have to try at least once.) We ordered the UH-OA (rum, rum, POG, Sam's Gorilla grog) and PuPu Platter (basically a sampler of the appetizers). Be prepared as the Uh-Oa comes in a souvenir tub so it costs $70 and made for 2 ppl. I'm glad my friend decided to order it after all bcz I'm not a drinker, but this one was great. Cicey was our server and I must say she is SOOOOoooo dynamic when presenting the specialty drinks. She is so friendly, kind, and very good at what she does. Make an inside reservation, JUST DO IT! You will not regret it. Remember, it's a hut on a tropical island, straight out of Swiss Family Robinson. The inside is lively, chaotic, animated, and just plain crazy at times, so you have permission to be crazy (in a good way). Make sure the camera/s are ready if you order a speciality drink. I have been here many many times and realized I never left a review! I wasn't able to grab a reservation, but I was able to join the walk up list and got inside within 10 minutes. It wasn't tooooo busy because the Super Bowl parade was going on in the park. I was by myself, and stopped by before going to my room in the Villas. It's so convenient to stop here when staying at the hotel for a quick bite and drink. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and the green beans which are my fav. I'm still sad the took the macaroni salad off the menu. I also collect the mugs but didn't see any new ones to take home. Service is always excellent and the ambiance is always amazing. read more

My favorite tonkatsu here has msg which usually makes me itch and break out into hives. I did not on my last visit but I rather not chance it. The salads and deep fried green beans and burgers do not have msg. The Szechuan cucumber salad has a chili crisp vinaigrette which wasn't spicy but it was a bit strong on the vinaigrette. Nice to try. It was a good amount of salad too. My park buddy had the pupu platter and it came out hot & fresh with pork gyoza, fried green beans, shrimp tempura, and chile glazed orange wings. AMBIANCE (5/5): Can't beat this tiki loving place! ESPECIALLY if you sit inside, you'll feel transported into another dimension! SERVICE (4/5): I usually do the fast-casual order at the window outside & take my drinks somewhere on the patio, but this last time I did a walk-in for breakfast INSIDE the restaurant and sat at the bar which was 10/10 service! So your hands get a little dirty, also just looks weird. The bread also seemed VERY FLAT. Maybe I'm thinking Japanese milk bread which is THICK, but it looked very sad. Again, flavor was bland. Small portion again. "UH-OH": this is a 2 PERSON DRINK! It comes in a triangles shaped cup/bowl, 2 straws, and a great show! The whole restaurant will love it!
