You can no longer order soy drinks, only almond or oatmeal. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend their coffee. Customer service ============== The baristas are friendly, but don't make consistent drinks. Management has begun to be incredibly rude when they are inconvenienced with bills larger than a $10. Location ======= This place is very convenient to several local neighborhoods. It's in the same shopping center as Amy Lafaye's, Friends and El Jinete and right across the street from Hebron high school and middle school. Amenities ======== Well air conditioned for those hot summer days. They have a large enclosed meeting room you can rent for those off-site meetings. We have been here multiple times and left satisfied. The coffee is good, but be careful when ordering speciality drinks. Today when our experience was not as good. We purchased two cold brew coffees and two bags of coffee to bring home. One of the drinks we ordered was NASTY. It was not edible and was extremely sweet. It tasted like drinking straight syrup; no coffee flavor. We asked the girl at the counter if they could remake or fix it. We were told they would have to charge us to make another one. We told her to just throw it away because it was gross, and left. After leaving the restaurant, we left a mobile review. The manager did respond via text and gave us a refund. The management cares. but the kids working the front counter may, or may not. read more

Let's start with the highlights: The aesthetics in here are great. They're not too over-the-top and overall creates a really comfortable work environment. Especially on the big lounge chairs with the side tables . (Headphones are recommended, since the place can get pretty busy during certain parts of the day). It also has beautiful, shaded outside seating. Cleanliness is a 10/10 . You could literally lay down on the men's bathroom floor and get back up totally disgust-free (although I'm not sure why you'd want to?) The customer service was also exceptional. The baristas hand-deliver your order to your table and seemed to have great attitudes. When my tea got cold they offered to brew me another cup free-of-charge since they don't have a microwave, The only negative thing, I could think of during my first free experiences visiting here is about the WiFi. It was a little janky when I was trying to connect from my smart phone, because it request you to sign in using your Facebook or Instagram profile. It is easier to access the WiFi using a laptop/tablet. There you can even skip the social media sign-in all together. Other than that, I truly have no other complaints ‍ I'm looking forward to making this a regular meeting/working space. read more

I wholeheartedly agree with an earlier review that mentioned the coffee having that burnt Starbucks quality. Halfway through my cup of coffee, my stomach was a-twist and unhappy. I honestly would've taken a cup of coffee from Racetrac or QT instead that would've been a fraction of the cost. BUT, Tradewinds gets big props for maintaining a nice balance of chic and modern, yet intimate and cozy in its atmosphere. The gals working there were very helpful and friendly, and if I'm in the area again, I'd love to lounge and enjoy more of their really cool space, but I'd reconsider my drink order. read more

Since originally writing about TradeWind, they've definitely stepped up their game. It seems to remain busy during the weekends and that's likely due to their events and activity on Instagram. I also tried their chocolate chip cookie and brownie bites during a recent visit. Both were delicious and traditional. No frills. My Italian Ice slush drink was good, too. During their busy hours, the wait could range from 5-15 minutes to get your order. Not the best when ordering to go, but hey. They've come a long way. I hope their success remains after the Starbucks is finished being built. read more

Nice new location in Dacula and I hope a successful one as Liam Avenue has claimed quite a few victims. Stopped in on my way back from the Veterinarian and grabbed a Pumpkin Spice, yes a big older guy ordering his Pumpkin Spice with Soy, no you don't want to be around me having whole milk! The place had a great vibe, folks having coffee and conversation, students on their iPads, etc. My PSL (acronym for Pumpkin Spice Latte ) was good but just slightly weak. With practice makes perfect and I'm sure as time goes on another star will emerge. Give this place a try, I will be back when I'm in the area as I want to see it succeed! read more

Love this new local coffee shop in Dacula! Great ambiance, ample seating. The kids play area is a nice touch to keep my 2 year old entertained when I am here with my mom friends! The place is always clean and the employees are very nice and friendly. The coffee is good- I don't think it's mind blowing but very tasty and prices are comparable to Starbucks or maybe a smidge less. They have a decent food offering of muffins, cookies, bars and sandwiches. Their muffins and breads are good- I haven't indulged yet in the other items. They also offer kid friendly items like applesauce pouches, juice boxes, cartons of milk or flavored steamed milks for purchase too. I haven't had the chance to take advantage of the outdoor pergola and seating but it's very pretty- too bad the view is of the parking lot. I hope this place lasts! read more

This cafe offers quality coffee and teas - the sort typically available closer to Atlanta! There is nice outdoor seating that is plastic or metal (mostly) so it is easier to clean and disinfect. I looked for signage at the door about physical distancing and masks and there was none. Some of the staff wore masks. I didn't notice regular cleaning after clients left next to me, during my 1-2 hour visit. The indoor seating is mostly wood (also easy to clean and disinfect) - really nice and spacious. There is even a meeting room you could rent at a really attractive price. The staff are so fast, professional and friendly. I've been a regular customer at Tradewind ever since they opened here in Dacula about three years ago, and they never fail to meet the mark when it comes to good coffee, friendly service, and an enjoyable, open atmosphere. Everything always feels very clean and tidy, and the staff is very personable and kind, including the owner, Christian! My favorite thing to order from here is always a chai latte, and they have a large variety of different flavors and drink options to choose from, as well as a breakfast and lunch menu! They also sell coffee beans by the pound here and some Tradewind merchandise, as well as gift cards. They also frequently host events that involve the community here in Dacula, including open mic nights twice a month, artist showcases, corn hole tournaments, and much more! They also have a conference room space that is available for rent for about $5 per hour if you reserve it in advance. Best coffee shop I have ever been to, and I've been to a LOT of coffee shops in my life, so that's saying something! read more

Finally a small coffee shop in Dacula! I've been waiting for one for a while and am glad one has opened. The location is very nice with lots of parking available. It is also near other businesses. The staff is also friendly giving you space and time to order. While the menu is limited, it's probably because it has just opened. The space is very open and useful for open mics and hosting meeting in their meeting room. There's also lots of tables and outlets so it's a space meant for studying/working. The little children's room is a nice touch. Their loyalty card is also nice since it gives you 5% off for no added fees. You just have to put money on it and you get the discount. Coffee was good. They also sell coffee by the pound but I haven't tried them yet. read more

HOT DAMN! This place has made an impression for sure. I came in on account of the fact that it's 10 minutes away from my house and the reviews were good. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised by this cozy atmosphere in the middle of a lackluster shopping strip. I was warmly welcomed by one of the baristas and ordered a soy iced chai latte (the drink of choice for basics everywhere, i love it). I chose my spot and my drink was brought right to me, didn't even have to move. Now I was expecting a weak chai, because that's been a trend at coffee shops in my area, but the first sip was the most surprising, warming experience. It was super rich, but didn't have that hairspray-burnt taste like iced chai at Starbucks, which was a mega plus. It left the most wonderful taste on my breath like a good latte should. Check this place out, you won't regret it Edit: I had to bump it down to 4 stars because my latte was definitely not made with soy milk. A couple hours after drinking it I got the characteristic bubble guts of dairy and had to spend some quality time with my toilet. Yummy! I had a medium chai latte with Tradewind's in-house made oat milk ($6) which was great! I could taste the specs of chai in the drink and overall it was lovely! I mainly came here because it was stated to be open until 10pm and I wanted to get some work done, but apparently there was a staff meeting that was to start just a little after I arrived (it was to be closed from 3-6pm-ish I think from what I was told?), so I couldn't use the facility to the level I wanted to and decided to just find a different place. It seemed a bit hectic in there too (when I was looking for a table, most were empty, but still had the remnant cups of previous customers) Bummer, but great tea! Many dairy free options here! I like lattes but milk-not so much. Came here for the first time a few days ago and ordered a latte with oat milk; my brother got the same thing iced. It was really tasty! I enjoyed the taste of the coffee as well as the latte overall. There was a little sign on the table that said they offered homemade almond, walnut, pecan, oat, and macadamia nut milk options. I want to try some of those soon! Would come back :) read more

This is the second time coming to good coffee house. First time was a great experience. Great space, prices are pleasantly the most reasonable I've seen thus far. BUT. Came back this weekend to do some good work for the day. Then it happened. After much confusion, the sudden seeing a guy turns on the keyboard (already in house at the cafe), and he and his kids start playing.. then more and more kids and families. We were sitting in the middle of it!! Loud. Ok it's fine we figured out it was a recital of some sort... but maybe the moment we came in and sat on that side, the baristas could have informed us.. so we could make a choice of what to do or expect, we didn't notice any flyers or anything or even the guy .. instructor could have mentioned there was a recital about to happen. SOMETHING! My wife and I were so annoyed and frustrated. We almost left... but decided to sit on other side and crank up the music(bad for the ears btw). But more than likely after this we're gonna consider whether or not we wanna come back. Not sure we'd even suggest this cafe. This is right second time we've been to a cafe and something like this has happened. Last cafe were were sitting in a room barely just settling in and a patron comes in and informs us we have to leave the room because it was going to be used. We came there to work and we spent our money there!! So my suggestion is please be more aware that there's all kinds of patrons and out of courtesy find a way to inform people. Great location - large on the inside with on entry of seating options, including comfy couches and chairs. I chose to sit outside at the front of the coffee shop as it was quite noisy on the inside (not due to the customers). The WiFi was weak the moment I stepped out the door, so I had to switch to xfinity. I ordered online as there was a long line when I had arrived and I probably should've been patient and ordered at the counter instead. I may have missed the instructions if there was an option to select to pick up at the counter or to go through drive through, but I wasn't able to get the attention of any of the employees behind the counters, so I had to wait in line just to retrieve my order. My order: mermaid macchiato which tasted very watered down, most likely due to the ice, and bacon and egg croissant. They ran out of croissants and weren't able to tell me that until I finally made it to the front of the line, kind of frustrating when you expected the order to already be ready. So I subbed for the brioche bread instead. The egg tasted artificial and the bacon looked like it had been steamed. Not the crispy kind I like (sad face). Not an awful place, but knowing what not to order the next time is helpful for me. read more

Where do I begin. Tradewind is owned by two awesome Christian guys. They have great space for small groups to meet and even have room you can rent. There's a great kid area so mom can get a little me time. The coffee is delicious, lots of options to choose from. The menu lays out exactly what each beverage is for those who don't know coffee. They have a large selection of coffee from around the world to take home. The pastry case is always full of delicious goodies, including cupcakes from !Splat Cakes and such . The customer service is always wonderful. Unfortunately they're kind of tucked away, so they can be hard to locate. They right across the street from Hebron High School. Coffee is delicious. The ambiance is great whether you want to go study (I recommend checking their events since they do a lot with the community so there may be a lot of background noise but still fun!), socialize with friends, or attend their awesome events. What a fantastic spot! This is the kind of trendy, Yelpy coffeeshop that I'd expect to find up in the DC area where I'm from, but I'm so glad that it has a home in Dacula! I loved the openness and layout of the central coffee bar area, the separate playrooms for the kiddos (genius!), and the super friendly staff. My dirty chai was hot & tasty, and I also ordered a breakfast sammy on a croissant that was out of this wooooorld delicious. I don't live in the area, but I frequently visit my sister (Jen R.) who does, and I know that I'll be returning the next time I'm in town for sure! read more

What a coffee shop should be!! We were playing a lacrosse game nearby and lucked into this amazing local shop. The ambiance is perfect: a reading nook, a guy playing guitar, a chess game going on. The coffee was perfect! I ordered a latte and it wasn't syrupy sweet like Seattle chain--it was a real latte with espresso and steamed milk. The register girl was so charming and welcoming! I wish I could find a girl like her for my shop. I've already planned how many times I can return while here for the tournament! they had a good short menu of food items too. It's nice to have a coffee place in the burbs that's not Starbucks. Coffee isn't the best though. IMO it has that burnt taste to it like Starbucks. If you want GREAT coffee, I recommend Orange Coffee in Duluth. I think the owners of Tradewinds should check out Orange. My first impression of Trade Wind Coffee is that it is very large but comfortable. Didn't smell the coffee as we entered. There are different seating arrangements from booths, to high top tables to comfortable upholstered chairs and sofas. As we had already had our daily ration of coffee, we were looking to get some lunch. There is no lunch menu, per se. The nice lady at the counter pointed to the three tired offerings behind the glass; a ciabatta roll (which needs to be toasted or heated for best taste), a croissant and Texas toast. The fillings are basically the same meat and cheese. The counter lady, when we asked if there was any other choice, she said she could make a smoked turkey and avocado sandwich on Texas toast. Okay, that sounds a little better. But when it was presented to us, it was just a plain nothing but just what she promised. No lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo...nothing. And we paid a la carte for some kettle chips. My husband ordered the Texas toast grilled cheese, and a cup of chicken noodle soup. He is a plain meat and potatoes guy, not fancy, but even he was disappointed. I know, I know. This is a coffee shop, Charlotte. You shouldn't expect anything other than a good cup of joe, right. But, au contraire, mon amis, the world has changed. Foodies abound and are spoiled. How about offering 3 specials of the day; a hearty stew with a piece of crusty bread, a specialty sandwich ( online there are millions to choose from) like grilled gruyere cheese with sliced granny smith apples and a fruit and nut salad. Now that 's a choice right there. And don't forget the kiddies that Mom or Dad have brought. I notice that you have provided a very nice safe space for them to read and play. But they will be even happier to have a choice too. A hot dog and chips or a pb and j rollup would be most welcome. Just some ideas. I want to see this lovely place flourish and soar. Your staff could not be more welcoming. I notice that you have live music on weekends. Great! How about a trivial pursuit game night?
