We especially loved the Moonlight, Prairie Thunder, and the Route 406. We enjoyed the charming tasting room and the generous outdoor seating with stunning gardens, plenty of shade, and the grape vines in view nearby. I've done tastings all over the world and this was the least expensive tasting I've seen. Four good sized samples for $14. That's less than I paid in CA in the early 90s. A glass of wine was inexpensive and the bottles were an excellent deal at just over $20 each. Phenomenal for what I consider small batch, boutique wines. The owner, Andy, was gracious, kind, and informative. Such a treat to learn more about the operation. All the staff were welcoming and pleasant. Ten Spoon Vineyard is a must do when in the area.

And as the craft beer industry is very noticeable in it's shrinkage in size from the past year or so distilleries, meaderies and wineries may be something we will need to explore more frequently as well. Hidden Legend was a winery or meadery that I haven't tried before and I was instantly drawn in to it. Discovering new places to me is always exciting and keeps thing interesting for me. For Hidden Legend, Steve and I had their Apple Mead Cyser which was an apple mead as indicated in the title and in flavor it had a very noticeable presence of that fruit. It was almost like a cider as we kept it chilled like a dry cider but had the thickness of a mead which put a fun spin to the flavor profile. And of course the presence of honey was detected also like you should expect with a mead giving this particular mead a pleasant and natural sweetness. A very nice change of pace was achieved here and feel like a revisit of their other mead options should be in order.

I had a Founders Porter, Founders is a good brewery but they had a variety of quality breweries on tap including lots of good locals. My boyfriend and I decided to pick our own to avoid any bruises and "cuts" on the fruit itself and it was such a fun experience! They let you sample the cherries as you pick them. Just grab a bucket and start your adventure! The staff advised that a full bucket is about 5 pounds worth of cherries. Walking through the aisles, there are different types of cherries to pick. 1. Tart cherries -good for smoothies, but it really is tart. My boyfriends calls them cherry bombs because of that tart bite. I only liked it because the seed stuck to the stem. 2. Dark red/purple - extremely sweet! And they are so plump!!! These were so good 3. Ranier - of course this is the biggest reason I wanted to go cherry picking. So delicious and tastes way different than in Utah (where I'm currently living) and the grocery stores.
