Tramways Medical Centre is a relatively new medical centre in Glengormley town centre. The Doctors surgery moved from Glengormley Health Centre in 1996 to the present premises. As far as I know the clinic was built as the Health Centre couldn't house the number of GPS and the community needed a place to go where they could visit their own doctor.
The new clinic has gone form strength to strength recently and has begun catering to many new services which includes the extensive list of managing diabetes, asthma, hypertension, epilepsy, COPD, cancer, stroke, CHD, hypothyroidism and mental health. There is a clinic for minor surgery / a wart clinic / soft tissue injection clinic . diabetic and CHD clinic. Additional services include Cervical screening, contraceptive services, vaccination and immunisations, childhood vaccinations and immunisations, child health surveillance and maternity services. Recently added to the clinic was the enhanced services centre including Anticoagulant monitoring, influenza immunisations, provision of near patient testing and IUD.
My boyfriend registered here and received the utmost care and attention. The doctors are never usually a place anyone likes going but Tramways strives to make you feel comfortable. There's the usual array of old magazines, a kids table and the so not comfy seats don't exactly add to it, but you certainly don't feel uncomfortable. There's a great self check in desk where if the receptionist is overly busy you can opt to sign in here instead of cueing forever. Tramways is a good clinic that provides great care for its patients. read more
