Our…read morePastor, Jim Driskell is very knowledgeable in relating the Bible to us in a way that is understandable and relative. He schedules a monthly prayer breakfast and a Men's Network meeting. From children's Bible study to adult study, education in the Bible is emphasized. We are an active congregation. We have had events such as VBS, a Block Party, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Service in the Park with picnic, monthly craft classes, and a Sharing and Caring/Outreach committee. Recently we hosted a sauerkraut take out dinner to great success. We will be celebrating our 98th anniversary with a Thanksgiving type dinner this year and are entering a float in the New Castle Light Up Parade. If you are looking for a church that is welcoming, Christ Lutheran is definitely worth a visit and maybe stay awhile.

Really good youth and kids programs overall and they do some cool stuff with the community (pumpkin drop, date nights, food warehouse fundraisers, yard work for elderly). I feel I can speak to the quality of the people. From the first day my parents took over the church the members have been nothing short of amazing. All of the church members are always nice when we come for a visit. I can't count the number of times that we have walked in and they are asking about how things in my life are going. These people truly care about anyone who walks in the door. If you are looking for a church where the word of God is preached and lived out in the lives of the members, then this may be the church for you.

Young lady and I wait till after everybody has gone in to enter so that we don't cause a scene, we wait till afterwards to let all the little kids pet her. We were met by a very nice lady at the door and a gentleman. The gentleman made a comment about young ladies size and then looked over for her service dog collar then made some kind of motion towards the woman who then told me I was welcome to go sit in the Overflow although everybody else was still going into the chapel? When I explained to her that I could listen to the radio except that I wanted to feel the emotion and the love that comes with worshiping in a group. I have had churches before that tell me the dog is not welcome, I guess I could say that at least this one was polite enough just to make me sit outside and watch service through the window? I think they need to learn a little bit more about reflecting DOGs love and forgiveness and showing GODs
