Starting in late January this year, I was stricken with a left frozen shoulder, one of the most painful and debilitating things I've ever experienced. I struggled with daily tasks, like washing my hair, getting dressed and folding laundry. I finally decided to see a chiropractor in September, after a glowing recommendation from some friends. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I have never experienced a chiropractor who took so much of his own time to read and learn about how to treat my specific needs. Every single adjustment was different, unlike other chiropractors, who do the same exact four things at every appointment. After two months of consistent treatment, I am a new person. One therapist stands out above and beyond all the other therapists at Dee's Physical Therapy: Jennifer Choate. Her knowledge of the human body and her probing questions at the beginning of of each session determined the whole course of treatment both in terms of type of exercise/equipment and intensity employed. Jennifer is professional and her high standards are reflected in every improvement and upgrade my body makes. I did the exercises he provided that were specially curated for me and my pain points. I did them religiously. I started this because I was told by an interventional pain clinic that I was required to try 6 weeks of Chiro, massage, or PT BEFORE I could get a referral to the pain clinic. The medical clinic actually made this a requirement. They told me that often this alternative course of care alone resolves the pain without medical intervention. The climate of healthcare is changing and more and more I am seeing all types of providers work together and understand one another's areas of expertise and ability to positively impact lasting improvement and resolution of symptoms. I was referred to Dr. Pike by my primary care physician, Dr. Ann Goering at Winooski Family Health, and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Pike's special gift is in not applying a uniform treatment to all his patients. In my case he understood from the get go that I had a condition that made a gentler chiropractic necessary and he has always provided just the right level of adjustment so that I have always improved under his care. He is surrounded by a team of massage therapists who apply deep tissue massage and electrical stim to help further his treatments to whole regions and supporting regions.
