If you are looking for a fabulous driver while in Mexico City, I have the perfect recommendation…read morefor you! Victor Valdez. (FYI, Victor also sometimes drives for clients and celebrities at one of the large local 5 star hotels. Yes, he's THAT good and professional!) A friend from Mexico City had recommended Victor to us as being completely trustworthy and a very safe and totally professional driver who has good English language skills. He was right on all those counts, but that only scraped the surface of what a pleasant experience our two days with Victor were. We were driven around in a very comfortable, immaculately clean and new looking black Suburban. Victor always had bottled water available for us to drink. He helped us plan and take a day trip to Teotihuacan, Aztec city of pyramids, about 30 miles from Mexico City. (I hadn't been as keen on going as my husband and yet it turned out to be the highlight of our trip! Highly recommended.) We also were driven to see many of the highlights of Mexico City including the historic center, Frieda Kahlo's Blue House and museum, Coyocan-Old Town, and more. On our longest day, when my elderly father and I just got too tired, Victor kindly went and got the car so that we didn't have to walk back to it. Very much appreciated :) There were three things in particular that Victor did for us that went above and beyond normal driving duties. We had a parcel that needed to be mailed within Mexico and were too late to mail it at the Post Office, so Victor offered to take it to FedEx to mail for us! On checking into our AirBnB there was a problem gaining access, so Victor called our host for us and orchestrated the necessary steps to help us gain entry. He also took us to buy a local SIM card for our phone and handled the rapid fire Spanish-language transaction. Something else that was very helpful is that Victor is quite knowledgeable about local restaurants (very good suggestions always!) and events that are happening in town. You absolutely couldn't do better than to hire Victor as your driver (our cost for 3 people was about $150USD per day, for a full day both in the city and just outside it.) We are seldom as impressed as were were by Victor and his strong desire to provide outstanding (and friendly) customer service. Do yourself a favor while in Mexico City, make your time there much less stressful and more productive...hire Victor! Mexico has come a long way in the disability infrastructure. I'm so proud to see these giant steps…read morehave finally been overcome with elevators & preferential entrance/access. At this station make sure your senior/handicap enters on the left side, so assure a seat. You can accompany them on that side too. The -2 stars is because there is zero discount for seniors/handicap. Which I think is extremely unfair since metro & metrobus give them free unlimited access. Also the need for a 2nd type of prepaid card is a hassle especially bc I've only used it twice in my life & never carry it. So I have to purchase another if I forget it or don't plan ahead. Let alone if you're a tourist in a group, every person needs one bc its non shareable unlike meteo/metrobus!!!

I came here and somehow managed to run into a children's kickboxing league. The kids were covered in padding, so it's not like they were in any real danger. The shops are nice- good for travelers, and people who are commuting on the trains. Sleek marble surfaces and chrome are the decor here, so it looks nice. It feels safe here. There's plenty of things going on around here- a bus station and a big library are next door. The station has a bunch of subway lines that come/go from here. They have a little model train that is supposed to go around on a track past miniature rural scenes. However that wasn't working, and a full scale model train that wasn't working either. Out in front of the station, tacos and other street foods are sold for ridiculously cheap prices. On the side of the station is the Plaza of the Americas- a nice open place to hang.
