I normally don't go into Jigsaw because of the prices and because I always find a nice dress I desperately want to own. They have the most amazing summer dresses. And yes ... I found The One and decided to leave it for a day to see if i still want it after 24 hours. Mostly a good idea, as I sometimes forget about it and save myself some money. Not in this case ... but the good thing: it was reduced by 70%. Anyhow this shop is very nice and it is rather large, with a fair amount of fitting rooms. Also the staff offered to take my chosen items and reserve a fitting room for me, until I finished roaming the shop. They also had some comfortable chairs for the foot lame husbands and friends. Very nice shopping experience indeed.

You will be forgiven to just walk by. If you take a careful look you can notice a tiny tiny writing on piece of paper, taped on top of the doorbell: Maison Martin Margiela. But what can you expect from a designer that has never given an interview or take his picture? He didn't even come to the opening. The brand does not advertise and for a long time this store was just a well kept secret. Once you enter the shop the first thing you will see is lobby with a counter. No clothes, so unlike a shop. The completely white washed interior with the sales assistant with a lab coat could fool you if you would not know better. So keep walking. Not only from the back room you find the fashion heaven. The store continues upstairs, where you find divine glass mirror up to the ceiling at on one end, a pair of ornate reclaimed French wooden doors open to reveal a spacious changing room, complete with movie-star lighting. I can't praise this designer enough and my humble opinion just is that he is one of the most talented people existing. Miles away from the polished designer shops spread around the Bond street, original, fascinating and full of surprises!

I never thought I'd be able to lump cheap and chic into the same sentence... usually fashion claiming to do so makes you look more like roadkill then fashionista. Top shop is one of those few places where they live up to the cheap and chic promise. fun girlie pieces, cheaper more wearable remakes of your favorite catwalk look and celebrity wardrobe items. You always know if you need or must have something new to wear on that date or maybe to a new party your going to topshop is the type of place you can run into on you lunch break and pick up something that'll make you feel fab and won't break the bank too. cheap enough to buy something cute every week. Did I mention celebrities also shop here too? Kate Moss not only is a long time devotee of topshop but she now even designs a line for them so mere morals like me can purchase a bit of her style. The only downside is everyone else shops at topshop too so don't expect to be the only girl wearing that 'it' dress or shirt!

When I first happened upon Darimeya not so long ago, I thought I had discovered a hidden gem. The…read moresmall store was - and is - relatively empty, save for about 7 racks of clothing, a smattering of jewellery and a couple of the sweetest shopgirls you can imagine. Nothing is terribly expensive and the designs are highly original (indeed, the Korean designer Darimeya creates the prints herself and only produces a limited amount of each style). Turns out, Darimeya got her start on Portobello Road before moving on up to Topshop and then to two of her own boutiques (Ken Church and Brick Lane) and elsewhere. So you may now recognize the name, but that doesn't change a thing. The clothes - predominantly dresses and only coming in 1 size (around an 8-10) - still have a unique, handmade feel and I love popping into the store to see what's new.

Galleria Conti sells gorgeous, wearable clothes from both well known brands like Maxmara Weekend, Farhi and hot fashion pieces from Luella, as well as quirky one offs. Their prices were a pleasant surprise, too. I've picked up a Farhi smock coat which I've been admiring in Selfridges, but at much better price. Alannah Hill and Nicole Miller dresses were to die for. A definite must for that special dress. Shop staff were lovely too, friendly, helpful and bags of style advice if you stuck for ideas. They also have an inhouse professional stylist. I shall be back. Punkyfish is generally a fashion statement of its own. Starting off as a clothes dispenser for the alternative styles, but when everyone started to buy them they became mainstream styles instead! The clothes are well designed and generally cute, but they sell lots of other accessories as well - look for lunchboxes, pencil cases, all kinds of merchandise and crap that kids are interested in.
