Bring your phrase book, because this little gem in the hills has no menu and our server didn't speak a word of English. All the diners were Italian. There is no pandering to Americans and it felt like I finally had a truly traditional experience.
And it was fantastic.
Gnocchi tends to be my safe and boring go-to, but wow, did this have depth of flavor. I think they added nutmeg to the pomodoro sauce. My husband ordered the linguine funghi and a mystery dish that ended up being chicken and roasted potatoes. We also were served a plate of beautifully sauteed green beans.
By dessert, my kid was getting silly, so I took her outside to the little play area. Any place that knows kids can only sit still so long and provided a slide is a wonderful establishment in my book. read more
