After traveling all day,…read morewe arrived for an early dinner, between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. as Yelp showed the restaurant was open. We were met by the owner, who, while allowing us to come in, was noticeably unfriendly and came across as rude, which set a negative tone for the meal.
We chose this restaurant because of the outstanding Yelp reviews, especially the praise for the pasta dishes. One of the main reasons we ordered the Cacio e Pepe was because several reviews described it being prepared in an authentic cheese wheel. That was not our experience. It was not prepared as expected, and spinach had been added to the dish even though it was not shown in any of the photos we had seen beforehand. Because of that unexpected ingredient, our daughter wouldn't eat it, which was very disappointing.
We also ordered the spicy chicken, and it was, unfortunately, the worst chicken my husband and I have ever had. It contained a lot of bones, was extremely fatty, with very little meat, and was simply unpleasant to eat.
Considering the quality of the food, the discrepancy between what was advertised and what was served, and the unfriendly service, we did not feel the meal was worth the price. We left disappointed and would not return or recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
