This is a slightly worn looking Travelodge in a fantastic location in a quiet road right near the centre of Leicester. Try not to wander into the casino instead.
The rooms are typical Travelodge, basic, cosy and comfy. I have always liked them. I don't need a flashy hotel room. 2 towels is not really enough for a family room mind you, although I expect you can ask for more if you can be bothered. Also 1 bar of soap between the bath and the sink means you probably should be bringing your own shampoo/shower gel.
Foodwise there are a lot of quite cheap options that you can get here and they do have a bar (although it is not especially good). I would avoid the overpriced crisps/just add water meals in the vending machine if I were you.
During my visit they seemed to have a lot of technical problems. On arrival the booking system was not working so we had to check in manually. This was not in any way inconvenientand nor was one lift being out of order, because the other one was working just fine. In the end though these issues mean that I can't give more than 3 because the 3rd technical issue I encountered was a royal pain. Twice, during a 36 hour stay, my room card somehow became unsynchronized or unset somehow from the room. This meant I could get in through the first door and get up to my room, before not being able to get in and having to go back to reception. That was really irritating.
I'd stay here again though..the location is superb for going out or shopping and you generally know what you're getting with Travelodges read more
