Each plant is clearly lovingly maintained, and displayed with a corresponding Biblical Verse. Many cities have hidden little gems that are unknown to the general public; this is Pittsburgh's, and it is a neighborhood treasure. Whenever I'm in Pittsburgh in the summer, I find there's no more uplifting way to spend a half hour.

If you go, there is almost a guarantee that the rabbi will introduce himself to you and you will probably have many members of the community coming up to meet you as well. I only found out because they published my name in their newsletter as being a new member. Now I'm afraid I'll get a bill for dues even though I never signed up. I have asked to be unsubscribed from the newsletter and for them to stop contacting me and they won't do either. Whoever hired Kenneth Turkewitz should re-examine their ability to do HR work because he's a nightmare.

This is a great synagogue for families and for everyone else. They are very welcoming. They have…read moreseveral areas for services and gatherings. Right now they are still doing things virtually but that means that you can be included when traveling. Our daughter and son in law had a baby naming ceremony via Zoom and it went beautifully. The staff helped make sure that family from all over the country were able to be connected in for the ceremony. They do a lot to make sure that children feel included. Their Tot Shabbat is able to hold the attention of even the smallest children.

His…read morecomment about "rural steel town" and "miserable part of america (sic) Last year when the president, and I use that term loosely, visited Pittsburgh and Tree of Life synagogue, there were many protesters and there is a great unity, especially within the Reform and Conservative community who are Democrats. Neil L sounds like he was dumped by a very intelligent single woman who attends this lovely temple. I hope over 4 years later he has finally gotten over this loss. As for this temple, there are warm, intelligent and welcoming people here and it is a joy to visit. (No I am not a member, as I live in the East suburbs of Pittsburgh and very proud to be from Pittsburgh)
