I almost always forget about this store, but when I happen upon it I think, "Why didn't I remember…read morethis?!" The store itself is just the pinnacle of cute and it really is a boutique. It was hard to classify under categories because they sell furniture, home decor, stuff for the kitchen, bath stuff, and things for kids or vintage items for those of us 'big kids'. They have Cath Kidson items, fun cups and utensils, teapots and tea sets galore. Every time I have gone in though, it smells a bit funny. I know what you are thinking... I checked, it isn't me. I'm not even quite sure how to describe the smell, but it does put me off a little bit and I overheard a lady 'whispering' to her friend about it as well. The other thing is that near the back of the store, the walkways are a bit narrow, so it can be difficult to get by others that are looking without knocking something breakable over. Something to think about if you have children, large bags, or you are generally clumsy.

Located on Crown Street this furniture store is slightly out of the way but well worth a visit…read more I had to get a new sofa as part of an insurance claim, because of the floods, and with there not being much choice in the furniture stakes in Carlisle, ended up here. The other major sofa retailer in Carlisle had flooded aswell. I must say that I was I was very impressed with the choice of sofas in my price category and in the end managed to get a really good deal on a two and three seater leather combo. The staff were absolutely fantastic and not pushy at all although it was obvious they were working for commission. They even gave me a free leather care kit which should have cost thirty pounds which was really good of them and has come in very handy with a toddler running about now. I really love my new seating and the quality of the leather is really nice. The seat pads are still really bouncy and retain their shape. The shop is really big and there is loads of car parking spaces. Although it can take a little while to get back out of the car park as the main road can be quite busy.

I remember going in here as a child when my Mother wanted something special - it was definately a look and not touch shop!! They sell very high quality carpets and offer a high quality of customer service and fitting. On the furniture side they stock alot of one-of and original pieces. The stock is very traditional. Prices are high - but you are paying for premium products.

Seeing them in my own home helped me to decide on exactly the right one - I had thought that such trust was long gone. Not only that, but they also gave me a discount that brought it to only £10 over the cheapest internet price - a little to pay for such great service and to maintain such a lovely shop in the town. The place has a warm atmosphere and the staff is very helpuful. It is not difficult to find as it is pretty close from the train station. The royal kings arms is also a nice little hotel with rates pretty cheap if you can book in advance on internet.The rooms are very comfy, you will feel at home!It is a cool place to meet your friends
