My daughter loves the quality of education that she is receiving at the college but the dorms are less to be desired (of course). The cost of college education is crazy & when you have to add in dorms, & food it's almost unattainable. I do believe that Capital is working to make improvements to the deficits in these areas even though they come at a higher cost. I like that Capital tries to provide part-time jobs for students & it's not just based off of income as some other colleges do. I like that with the school being smaller some professors seem to be more attentive to students & notice things out of the ordinary. I also like that when I was concerned about my sick child & called the president of every department that I could find the number to they all responded & checked on my child as well as returned my phone call! I don't like that sometimes the different departments dont tell each other what's going on. I believe that financial aid & accounts payable should know the same info & able to correctly communicate that to parents & students when clarification is needed. This is, in fact, the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities Early Childhood Education Center. The school serves students with and without disabilities which is awesome! Front desk staff are very friendly and make check in easy. You must check in if you are a parent or a visitor. The school is pretty updated and it well kept. The restrooms were nice and clean. They are also very spacious -- this is likely due to the fact that this is a Special Needs school and kids with gross motor difficulties need space to do their business! The halls are also very spacious and well decorated. There are so many resources here. They serve 700 students aged 6 weeks to 6 years. There are many services including OT, PT and other specialists. They have multiple partnerships including the YMCA for childcare and OSU dentistry! Head Start too! It's very comprehensive. They have a "Wonder Lab" that helps kids regulate their emotions. This is awesome for kids emotional needs. It has weighted pillows, fiber optic lights and a water bed! This place really has it together!

High School students for a number of…read moreyears, I must admit that the staff I met from the principal to the 3rd grade teachers exemplified what we want to see shaping our youth. By their positive and supportive actions with their students, teachers demonstrated a loving, caring, and nurturing model for individual and groups of students. As an educator, I witnessed teachers who gave of themselves to help build the character and moral fiber of their students. Students responded to the model set for them in that they we're recognized and awarded for "Good Citizenship" (how supportive kind, and encouraging they were to each other on a day-to-day basis). Parental involvement in children's education is encouraged by reading with their child at least 20 mins. a night and providing opportunities for children to continue reading on their own. A child's education in school is stressed as very important to success. Therefore, even if a child only attends school half a day because of a doctor's appointment Etc., it is important that they be in school the other half of that day. I was impressed by the rich learning environment and the positive responsiveness of the children I observed. In keeping with the importance of reading, I was encouraged that they were having a Book Fair while we were there which then carried over into the next day. Needless to say, I added to the support of the school and the children in our home by participating greatly in the Book Fair. I was told that they will provide another Book Fair next February. The school is in need of people who would be willing to volunteer their time and services to help in the Book Fair or just to assist teachers in the classroom.

My son attended the week-long Battlebots summer camp this week. He loved it all! They also arranged to spend a part of the day playing dodgeball at the Taekwondo studio in the same building, meaning my son didn't come home totally spun from too many hours sitting still.
