The "beach" was not really a place you could just relax on because it was ridden with broken trees and branches, rocks, etc..it was so cool. The environment was our gym! Best workout ever! As we ventured further and closer to the water, the terrain changed and so did the climate, but that made it even cooler! We were literally standing where the water once filled the very area we walked on! Amazing! We encountered some dudes mudding and four wheeling, dogs frolicking, people wandering and just taking in the beauty of it all! As we ventured further, we came across and collected some cool rocks and minerals that had been washed up from the . Just a great place to explore, especially right now! There's lots of high climbing areas, so it could be dangerous for children that aren't very coordinated yet. The park is largely unshaded, so you definitely feel the heat on warmer days. We got lucky that nothing was taken, just a bummer to have to replace a window after doing something wholesome like taking our dog to a nature reserve. Otherwise this place is lovely. The trails are well maintained, the bike lanes are in good shape and clearly marked, and the reserve is clean. I love to take the long way around across the high levee because there is a little creek that runs by and it's just so pleasant to listen to as you walk.

Our visit was in July 2025 to this cute Fair Oaks park within a small neighborhood. The park has a…read moresmall splash pad, and two playgrounds one for younger and older children. My granddaughter who is 8, loved the splash pad & the younger kids playground. The park is not gated and is adjacent to a walking path. Be careful if you have a little runner. The splash pad has a high water bucket dumping water in different directions. There was only one working water spout for the little kids when we came and the frog sprays water but you have to click the yellow button on the blue pole to make it work once it turns off. The older kids playground she loved the round rope swings but did get rope scrapes on back of both legs from swinging on them so be careful. Next time will use a towel under her legs. The big net play structure is fun if you want to just climb around but to get to the slides there is a big gap between the net structures that you have to go past in order to work your way across the rope bridge then to the slide. She was disappointed she couldn't get over to slides as a big gap she couldn't reach other side safely. Really wish there were rope stairs going straight up to slide area so kids can play on slide that can't do rope structure. The younger kids playground was nice. Multiple climbing structures that included a slide, rope hammock, a turning swing type activity. Parking is along the street only. Park has Drinking fountains and clean bathrooms. There are two picnic table areas. One down by the playgrounds and another by the splash pad.

Broder Family Homestead Park is a compact, passive park sandwiched between the Harvest subdivision…read moreof homes and Hazel McFarland park in Folsom, CA. Hurray to the City of Folsom Parks and Rec for this great use of the 5 acres. Broder Park preserves the history of the land. A portion of the olive orchard has been kept. The olive trees are still thriving. New fruit trees have been added since the 2020 park opening. The city also planted new vines in the area where the vineyards use to be. Remnants of the original concrete base of the Broder house is preserved and makes for the border of the patch of real grass. The City did its best to salvage material from the Homestead to be used in the park. The park is elevated with gentle sloping walking paths. The elevation makes for some pretty nice views of the surrounding area. The park has walking paths, some or paved and others are sand packed. Both are ADA compliant. There are benches and information boards about the Broder Ranch and activities, the olive orchards and vineyards, and the way folks in this area received water in the late 1800. The info boards are scattered about the different areas. There is a pavilion with picnic benches that is right next to a play area with farm animal statues. The statues are meant to be climbed on. Above that area is a horseshoe pit. Bring your own horseshoes to toss about. The first time I explored this park was when I visited the neighboring park for a Little League game. Since then, I have been back several times minus the Little League games.

It was about 80 degrees when we were there and the shade allowed us to enjoy being outside. On one side there is a climbing structure and slide. On the water side there was a more advanced climbing structure, swings and a smaller climbing area with the swings. All in all, we definitely enjoyed the park and all it had to offer. It was very clean as well.
