I've been trying out new spots around the South Shore area and Trendy is one I stumbled upon a month ago before I went on vacation. This is a small salon. ***Review is for pedicure only! I got my pedicure done by Cindy. She was on time and ready to take me when I arrived. The pedicure chair works great. Everything was sanitized and sterilized in the machine. Each scrub product were individually wrapped. I took away a star because she smudged my big toe a bit on the top and instead of cleaning it off a bit.. she painted over it. It made that spot extra thick and the polish looked uneven after. It was not a big deal but thought it's worth mentioning. She had a customer waiting after me so I just left it alone. I'm sure if I said someone she probably will fix it. I would go back for another pedicure. read more

I've been to this place a few times over the years. They do a good quality pedicure. I had never gotten my nails on hands done by them until recently as I went elsewhere for that. The first time, it was a good job and a decent experience. The second time was ok for the service but a terrible experience as a customer. I caught my nail tech talking about me in Vietnamese as I got up to wash my hands. She didn't know I spoke Viet. I thought that was so rude. I barely knew this woman! Why be so mean to paying customers??? I will never return. As for vibes, the shop is cluttered and doesn't really give any long lasting impression that makes you want to return. read more

Not super friendly. First time going here because it's close to where I live. No one greats you when you walk in, they just point to a clip board to sign in. My dip manicure took an hour and a half. My nails are all different lengths and different thickness. Some of the manicure is all the way to the cuticle and some are not. Initially I was not even sure how much I was charged because they also charge a deposit before you go. I definitely won't be returning. read more

Came onto Yelp to look for a nail salon to get nails done for a wedding and decided to go with Trendy Spa. Called in to book an appointment and they require a deposit(forgot what the percentage is) Everyone that I encountered here was super friendly and the place was very hygienic. I decided to get a gel mani(with tips for two fingers since they chipped the day before and I had to cut my nail) and regular pedi. I'd def recommend getting tips if you choose a shimmer color. The color I went with ended up being pretty see through even with 3 coats of the color. I did get a couple cuts when the lady was cleaning up my cuticles and she felt super bad. I didn't make a big deal of it since I know things like this happens all the time. My cuts have since healed and was at no risk of an infection so you can tell this place definitely cleans their tools. Overall very happy with the results of my mani and pedi read more

Called to cancel my first appointment here this evening after we got a sudden tornado warning to shelter in place in the basement. I'm 7 months pregnant and obviously didn't feel safe driving after that warning. They did not pick up and the number listed on their site would not allow for a voicemail, so I immediately emailed them. They called me, and I explained above and that I didn't feel safe. She informed me that I should have given them more notice, and that they would waive my cancellation fee this time but next time there would be a charge. Yikes, weird customer service during an emergency. I hope their employees stay safe, but not the place for me. read more

I moved to the South Shore a year ago and it's been over a year since I last went to a nail salon. Finding new nail salons to go to can be a hit or miss sometimes. I've been to Trendy Nails twice now. I was pleased to see COVID guidelines in place and enforced and that it's a clean place with reasonable pricing. Both times I've gone I got a gel manicure with designs. The two times I went my technician happened to be Tammy coincidentally and I was very happy with both results, especially my recent visit (shown in the picture). I really appreciate that she takes her time throughout the process from filing to cutting the cuticles and especially with the designs. I typically prefer doing my own nail designs and I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to these things so having Tammy be meticulous and good with the designs exceeds my expectations. I've been to some nail salons where each of the steps feel rushed just to be able to get to the next client and the experiences I've had here haven't felt that way. I look forward to returning and would recommend anyone reading this review to pay them a visit! read more

I've been wanting to see what the hype was about this place for the longest. Well I finally checked it out by deciding to get just a pedicure and a broken thumb nail fixed, so booked an appt online. I have my own regular nail lady (& also another nail tech as a backup) but unfortunately neither were open @ 9:30 am on a Sunday! I had a brunch to get to so I thought I'd give them a try. I will say my nail tech was so thorough & gave an amazing pedi. I forget her name but I'll come back to edit this review once I find it. Cons : My gel pedi took an 1hr & 30 min. Some ladies love this, i personally don't. My own nail lady does all that I had done here in a fraction of the time, with the same precision & care AND a hot stone massage (which you won't get here). So don't come here if you have somewhere you have to be. They TRULY take their sweet time here. I can only imagine how many hours I would've been there if I'd done my hands too! 3 hrs+ ?!? Con #2: A required 25% deposit to book an appt seems ridiculous. If your salon is popping like this one w/ a high cancellation rate, then I guess....? But I've been to many nail salons, LA, Atlanta, NY--I've never had to do this. The gel pedi was $60, so $15 was taken before I'd ever set foot in there. Con #3: They kind of gave me a hard time about getting my 1 thumb nail fixed. I couldn't find that service on the site, so I just booked for the pedi & figured I'd tell them once I got there.. Bad move. 3 techs were all talking to me at once about how I should've called about it first, even after booking online. Which eliminates the whole point of booking online. It was weird to me how big of a deal they were making it. I had plain white nails as the color, yet they were talking about how they don't have a broken nail service listed online in case the color isn't available, yada yada, yada. It just all seemed so unnecessary to be put on the spot & be talked to by 3 women all at once for something that seemed so minor. That gave me a headache. lol Overall a solid nail spot, with 6 manicure stations & I believe only 5 pedicure stations, so they're busy. I suppose they're worth a try if you have patience and YOU'RE not busy! Maybe I'll keep them as my 3rd back up.. that's a big MAYBE. read more

I did a foot mask and thought it did not work so scheduled a pedicure for polish change. I was contacted later to alter the appt - which was not a problem. More than 24 hrs before the appt my foot started to peel so I called and asked if it was recommended to reschedule. Maybe I should know the answer but didnt. The lady who answered could not answer the question and I had to explain the issue three times before she said she doesn't know what a foot mask is and couldn't answer. She asked if I wanted to reschedule to which I said I'll figure it out and I can cancel online to which she replied you will be charged its within 24 hours. I responded the time I was calling and my appt time are greater than 24 hrs. She got huffy and said do you want to reschedule. I said no I'm going to cancel. Her response - bye and hung up. YIKES. Loyal customer who's *never* coming back after how the owner treated me over the phone. I booked an appointment after-hours for the next morning but I wasn't notified. After what appeared to be a technical issue between Vagaro.com (their booking site) and Trendy Nails, I was verbally assaulted for missing an appointment. I didn't get a text from Vagaro when the appointment was confirmed and I never received a phone call from Trendy when I was "late/a no-show" for my appointment. It wasn't until I saw a charge on my credit card that I realized what happened. I quickly called Trendy Nails to apologize for missing the appointment and to ask if I could still come in, but not have to pay twice (seeing as they already charged me). The owner raised her voice at me, called me disrespectful and refused to hear me out. I promised her I would show her my phone (because I hadn't received any calls or texts notifying me about the appointment) and she sarcastically yelled back at me on the phone "Oh, sure -- yeah please come in. We'll show you our records as well!" Honestly, I'm tired. I never tried to argue. I never said Trendy Nails did anything wrong. The first thing I did on the phone was apologize. Came here for a last minute classic pedicure on a Saturday morning with Winnie and had an excellent experience! She really cleaned my toes and got all the dead skin out, which was exactly what I needed. Winnie really paid attention to my toes and put in a lot of effort to make sure my toes and feet were clean. Because I was amazed by her dedication, I got my lips and eyebrows done which looked perfect at the end. I've been here twice now and I like it. The front desk guy is super nice, the salon is clean and clients are spaced out nicely following covid regulations. Upon your arrival you must sanitize and wash your hands. I had Hannah do my nails each time I came, unintentionally, but I like her. She does a good job and listens to what I want. They always do their best to accommodate me here as I am very particular about my nails - this makes me happy! The first time Hannah did my nails, I was impressed because I almost never have a good first impression. Although she's not very talkative nor does she does greet me, she's nice when we do talk. She takes her time doing my nails, which is long, but they come out perfectly. I've also only had one pedicure here and I'm not too crazy about it so far, I think they can do better. It's not bad, but imo, they focus a lot more on the quality of your nails than toes. I've only got it done once, so I will try another pedi service before I get critical. Overall, I'm liking this place so far and will continue booking, but it's a little hard to book during this season bc they're a very busy salon. I've been going to Trendy nails for a little over a year now and I've never had an issue. I always see Thea and I absolutely love the way she does my nails to the point where no one else has done my nails! She's only available on the weekends so I've had to change around my schedule just for her to do my nails that's how much I love her work! I recently had a baby and had to find a babysitting on the days I do my nails again that's how much I love her work! I've referred several family and friends to Tendy nails in fact my husband has even been a few times to get a manicure. I got my nails done last week by Thea as usual and I left the salon satisfied I again,loved my nails and I even got a design which I rarely do and they came out very nice! I went on the website to book an appointment for next week and my appointment was denied so I called the salon to figure out why. I was told that Thea thought that I wasn't satisfied with my nails so that's why my appointment was denied. I was very confused because I had no issue with my nails I never even told her that. If I had an issue with my nails I would've spoken up or wouldn't have booked with her again but that wasn't the case. I ended up calling the salon back just to get clarification and to let her know that I was satisfied and no one answered my call. I called twice and my second call was forwarded and I was very shocked and hurt! I know they have caller ID and my name popped up on the caller ID and for them to purposely not take my call is very unprofessional and rude especially when a loyal customer is calling just to figure out if I did anything wrong. I ended up calling from my work phone just to see if they would answer and they in fact did answer! Which again was VERY unprofessional and rude. I'm not sure who I spoke with the second time I called but I again explained my situation and was told that Thea has a right to deny my appointment and basically if a technician says they don't want to take a client then no further explanation is needed. She is absolutely correct that Thea does have a right to deny my appointment but to say I wasn't satisfied with my service is an absolute lie because I NEVER even stated that! I again paid for my services and booked with her again so there's no way I could've not been satisfied! Very few people do acrylic at Tendy nails so it's hard to book with anyone and I basically said that to the person I spoke with and asked should I find another salon and she told me yes lol I felt like she could've answered that question a little differently or maybe made me feel better as a customer but to flat out tell me yes is crazy. I thought about booking with someone else but this whole experience made me feel really uncomfortable and hurt so I'm all set. Especially me being such a loyal customer this should've been handled differently. So with all this being said I will never set foot back in Tendy nails. This could've been something that was talked about etc. but instead they treated me very unprofessionally and poorly. Especially after they forwarded my call but answered when I called from a different number lol. I'm very sad that I have to look for a new salon especially since I love Trendy nails. It's hard finding new salons nowadays but I rather keep searching to find a new salon that will treat me with respect and not make me feel uncomfortable. read more

I've been going to Trendy Nails for about a year now and I have never been disappointed. I usually get a dip manicure. Vivian, Hannah, and Winnie are my usual go-tos when making an appointment and I get perfect nails from them every time. They really take their time to get perfect shapes and designs. At this salon, they do a dip manicure without the uv light which I love (unless you get gel nail art). Even though I live in Roslindale and there are many other closer salons, the quality of Trendy Nails is just too good. I recommend making an appointment two weeks in advance as their books fill up quickly read more
