it's the morning after the nightmare before,yes we went to the Trent Port in Gainsborough,having been there dozens of times over the years we know what to expect,or at least we thought we did.
on arrival we got our drinks,ordered the £4.10 carvery x4 and then was told that there was only one meat,Gammon.
As this wasn't a real problem ,but not what we are use to, we found a table and went to the counter,no large yorkshire puddings,and the small one's were like concrete,moving on there was about half a kilo of nice looking Gammon,but only one sausage,which was unfortunate as the father and son in front of me had both ordered that.in a desperate attempt to solve this issue the chef said they could take the veg and return when they were ready,or changed to the pie,the two pies on offer were both dried up and had burnt edges,moving on,no carrots,no fish,only a single severing of peas,encased in a dried up bowl,no onions,no chips,but they arrived as i sat down,only beef gravy on offer ? with Gammon ? only roast,or should i say charcoal based tates ,blackened,not just over cooked,black,you could have written with them,and no a few two bowls full.To top it off there was only one gravy,normally two or three,BEEF ,i ask you with Gammon,how hard is it to make up gravy ?how hard would it have been to section off small amounts of other meats and cook them ASAP prior the the fairly large numbers that were there and those that came in with us and behind us,although i did witness several groups leaving,something i wish i had done.
this issue wasn't to do with lack of staff,there were plenty of them, sadly none cooking or planning ahead , it would seem.
i spent over £16 on food and feel i am entitled to a refund,the pub misrepresented it's self , didn't supply the goods in full,and those it did were burnt,dried up and in very very short supply.
we were all offered a review slip.and the gent in the front of me took one, he said" what do you want me to say ? that you have no f**king food ? "like a lot of people i am sure he will not send in his views,but rest assured he will tell alot of people about his experience, as i am afraid i will,we used to attend with as many as ten others,but the others have stopped coming in favour of the Toby outlets,i think we need to join them .
I FEEL WE ARE ENTITLED TO A REFUND AND NOT IN VOUCHERS,I couldn't drag my party back for some considerable time i am afraid,
