My wife had the chimichanga fajitas and she enjoyed it. A very nice evening. This is a family owned and run business. Tres Toritos is the best Mexican Joint I have been to. The Food is amazing the staff is friendly and a few of them are funny. Jose keeps a tight ship there. The portions are very generous and the prices are in line with other upper crust establishments. The new decor in there is really nice with authentic Mexican art. This place is busy with a big capital B. Some nights the line is longer than I care for but would you really want to eat in a place that the locals will not go to? I would give it 10 Stars but they only let me have 5. read more

Hola! (ya i took some Spanish) The food is mucho bueno (look at me go). The service is great and the drinks always stay cold and filled to the brim of my cup. I recommend the Polo Tres Torito, my favorite dish. My second favorite dish is the Enchalada Supreme dish. It's fantastico (alright I'm done). I've been on the road for more than a week and was ready for some authentic mexican food. It's difficult to find this quality of Mexican outside of LA but I am in the middle of one of the best Chili Relleno dishes ever. Unbelievable. I wish I took a picture before it tore into it. It was beautiful. We also had a smothered steak burrito and it was also amazing. Both dishes were huge and we both had to ask for togo boxes. I cannot recommend this place enough. Great food and staff. Arrived late on a Saturday night. Was seated quickly and had our drinks in no time. Food was delicious. Taco salad came on a warm plate. The shell was filled with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and beef. one of the best I have had. My companion had CamAron Yucatan. We absolutely love Tres Toritos! We lived in Texas for 60 years and have eaten a lot of Mexican food. This is by far our favorite of all time. Luckily, its 5 minutes away. Simply the best. Great food, good atmosphere; and incredible staff. Always extremely friendly, always fast, always great. This is one of the staples of the community and easily the best place for a bite to eat in town. It can get a little crowded in a busy night and you might have to park on the street, but it's always worth it. If you've got a taste for spicy, ask for their house made hot sauce. They make it there in the restaurant and it is extraordinarily flavorful, and nice and spicy. Goes great on their tender Carnitas, on any of their fantastic chicken dishes; or even mixed into soup! We love Tres Toritos! We are so lucky to live down the street from such a great place to eat. We have had several different Mexican restaurants come in and out of our town, and I have eaten at the big places in St. Louis like the Hacienda. Tres Toritos is by far better than any of them. As a matter of fact, when we are out and about we won't even consider having Mexican food because we have the best only a mile from home. Try the Carnitas! Roasted pork smothered with sweet grilled onions. Mmmmmm! The service can vary though. When it is very busy, expect to be patient and enjoy your drinks, but the owner greeting you like an old friend will make you glad you stopped in (even though you had to park on the side street because the parking lot was over full). And don't let the full parking lot deter you from going in. They have more seats than parking spaces. read more

Upon local recommendation and wanting to support local businesses, we stopped by for lunch. Even though we aren't ready for dine-in dining, we called ahead to inquire if they had a patio. They did. We ordered the queso fundido as an appetizer. If you like chorizo, this is loaded! Very tasty, with a touch of spiciness. I have moved around this country a lot over the years, (including growing up in Oklahoma) but I moved to the Saint Clair area 2 years ago and have never had a bad meal at Tres Toritos. The food is authentic, delicious and large portions. I usually have the Grande Burrito (which has a hot sauce on it that is great!), but have also had other items and they are all good. One of our favorite places. Jose, his son Chris, and the servers Cynthia and Gabriella work very hard to make you feel welcome. We eat there regularly and it's like going to a friends house for dinner. The food is very good and the Carnita's are awesome. Although pazole isn't on the menu Jose makes it for the staff when the weather turn cool and puts some aside for me. When my husband & I want good Mexican food, we always say, "Let's go to that good place in St.Clair". It's the BEST Mexican food we have ever tasted with the best prices! Everyone is friendly there. It's a casual/laid back/come as you are type of atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give it 5*s is because it can get a little warm in there (even during the cooler months...So leave your jacket in the car!). And there is maybe too many options on the menu (but that's not a big deal & can be a good thing when you're really hungry & wanting to try everything..lol) Free chips & Salsa is always a plus. The salsa is awesome! We've tried other Mexican restaurants & were never impressed like we are every time we go to Tres Torritos. This restaurant (the building) has gone through many different changes (I'm assuming owners..used to have a restaurant that had all you can eat crab legs on Friday nights..We never went there when it was anything else.)...I really hope Tres Torritos is there to stay. We live in Sullivan, but my husband works in St.Clair, so when I pick him up from work & we're planning on eating out, we always pick Tres Torritos! read more

Small little restaurant that was PACKED on Friday night. Real loud and we had to park way down the street. They got my order wrong twice - gave me a chicken chimichanga not shrimp and then gave me rice, which I cannot eat, when I finally got the right order. But the food, even the chicken chimi, was SO GOOD! First time visiting. We had six and the hostess told us we would have to break up into two tables which we did. The chips and salsa was good. I ordered the Polo Jalisco and it was average. I asked for tortillas and never received them. There was a long hair on my daughter's quesadilla. Very cramped seating arrangement. Service was average, not real friendly. So the place is a hole in the wall a couple of turns off the interstate. It was church let out time and it filled up as soon as I got to a table. The menu's seam to be the original ones from when it opened and were all cracked up. The Staff was young and friendly. The menu has about million options but it contains the basic Mexican options, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas... So I go with Chili Verde thinking it would be pork cause it was in the pork section of the menu. I settle back and watch the game and in a few minutes out come the food. It was Beef not Pork. Ok with that said it was REAL good. And a whole lot of it. I would say if you find your self in This section of I-44 I would say to the trip it was great. read more
