Buyer beware. I am very disappointed with the level of customer service I received. This company completed construction of my metal garage in December 2025. Unfortunately, by early March, the roof was leaking in multiple locations. I contacted the company several times regarding the issue. During each conversation, customer service representatives assured me that someone would follow up, but I never received a return call. After multiple phone calls and providing photos documenting the leaks, the company acknowledged the problem and informed me that a technician would be sent to repair the roof. However, no one ever came, and the issue remains unresolved. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend doing business with this company. The lack of follow-through and poor communication have made this a frustrating and disappointing experience. read more

I am very happy with my experience and results with Tri-State Carports Inc. Their sales and scheduling team are very responsive and professional. First use the https://carportview.tristatecarports.com/ to select and design the carport or building you want. It is a very good, intuitive tool. I used it on a laptop for best results. It will provide all the various options and prices. Save the design and contact Tana at (336) 673-3329. That is who I worked with and she is very responsive. I kept track of our communications by email. She sent me the order form by email attachment on 6/20/2023, I paid the deposit on 6/23/2023 and the crew came and did the install on 6/27/2023. That is what I call service. My carport is large, 22x40 feet with 10 foot legs. The frame is double legs, upgraded to 12 gauge and extra braces. The ends are gabled. The installation crew is very skilled and hard working. They arrived at 10am and finished by 4pm. Two hours later a typical Pennington county, South Dakota storm came up with hail and 75 mph wind gusts. The carport withstood it with no problem. read more

Our business purchased a carport for a covered work area outdoors. It was ordered in early October of 2013, and we were told there was a wait time of approximately 4 weeks. Seemed like a while but oh well. We paid deposit and waited... And waited... And waited... Finally we started calling the local dealer where I learned quickly that he had nothing to do with the company other than submitting orders. Finally tristate called back, in a very attacking and accusing tone, to say they wanted to schedule. It was really weird to be spoken to in that tone when I was the one giving THEM business! They cancelled their appointments multiple times, just saying that they would call back to reschedule... Which they never did... I had to call and hassle each time. FINALLY, last week... We're talking February of 2014 (nearly 4.5 MONTHS after ordering) the installers showed up. So far it hasn't rained while someone was out there, but I've read the roofs tend to leak. After the less than stellar, to be kind, service I finally looked them up and wish I thought to do it prior to ordering. This is the NORM with them. BEWARE! They operate under several different names including: Coast to coast Carports, Inc. USA steel building Inc Eagle carports Inc. T-N-T carports Inc. American Steel Carports Inc. Tri-State Carports Inc. They are all either owned/managed or have been owned/managed by the Torres Family. If you order a steel building from one of these companies beware, they are owned by the same people and have almost 200 complaints filed against them on the BBB website. read more

I ordered a metal building months ago just like the rest of us. It was supposed to be installed 4 weeks ago. They rescheduled and rescheduled. I had already waited months for them to set up the appointment. Today they were suposed to be at my buisness between 11 and 1. I called to confirm and was told they were running late (I had to call them). After 6 pm I gave up and went home. NO CALL NO SHOW! I have lost more money from having to reschedule my last 4 weeks and having to refuse work "because we were having construction done". I bet their truck broke down again. It will only be the 6th or so time they used that excuse. I hope they show up tomorrow before we open, start assembly on the building, then I can tell them to pack up and go home. I have waited and waited. Today I did a search on yelp and I'm so glad I dodged a big bullet. I hear their roofs leek and they don't warranty anything. At least I didn't pay a deposit! Home depot sells lots of similar structures. If any one has a good experience with another company selling similar products please let me know. read more

I started my purchase with Hippo Structures, they passed it on to Hughes steel who passed it on to Tri state carports. Tri state scheduled the install, and canceled. Then re scheduled, and no showed, no contact, no heads up. Beware of Hippo structures, Hughes, and Tri state. I believe they are scammers. Terrible experience! No communication, didn't show up the day they were supposed to be here. No phone call, no anything. Finally get a text dictating when it is convenient for them, not me! Then, they show up at 6:30 am! 3 hours early... When I go to see the progress, they installed the wrong type building! Are you kidding me?!!! The office doesn't return calls, doesn't take responsibility for anything, and tells me that I would have to PAY to have the correct building put in!!! This place is a joke. You won't get what you ordered, it won't be on schedule, and then they don't care if they do a good job, get you the right building or try to solve issues! read more

My husband and I ordered a custom carport via a local dealership in our area. I was contacted almost two weeks after I ordered it which first and foremost seemed unreasonable to confirm receipt of our order. Tri-State Carports scheduled an installation appointment with me for a Tuesday evening but less then a week away from our appointment they called me to reschedule for 5-7PM that following Friday evening. I rearranged my day to accommodate their change and found myself sitting in my driveway at 7:45PM still waiting for my delivery. No one called, emailed or even attempted to contact me explaining what was going on. I went digging online to find someone to call but of course, there is no one there at hour on Friday night. So, instead I sent an email to the address I found on their website. The next evening (more than 24hrs after my appointment) I get a call from some guy telling me that he has my carport in the back of his truck but his truck is broke down over an hour away so they won't be coming to do the install and that I would have to call "the company" on Monday to talk to them about it. I was so frustrated! Long story longer, I told him to find a truck and get my carport installed or I would drive my truck down and do it myself. Needless to say, he was at my door at 8AM the next morning with my carport. I got a call almost a week after the install from Elizabeth who was of course looking for my payment but NOT ONCE TO THIS DAY DID ANYONE RESPOND TO MY EMAIL ABOUT THE INSTALLATION. She was not timely in her follow up to my request for a discount. While the carport is finally installed and satisfies what we were looking for I am still sincerely disappointed in the lack of communication and customer service that this company provided. Even after paying over the phone, they couldn't get it right. They called me back saying that my card didn't go through. They wrote down the wrong card numbers! The end result was certainly not worth the hassle and I would not recommend this company to anyone for future use. read more

Signed contract Nov 17 2015. Still no building. They have changed the price of the contracted carport 2 times. The signed contract was $4568.85 today they increased the price by $267.50. Then a couple hours later they inreased the cost by another $725. And then they sent an entirely new contract to me that is $1005.85 higher than my original contract. I have complied with contract. Lot surveyed, pad made, rock delivered. We have a signed contract and paid the deposit. Tri State has had the contract for months and now they say their costs are more. They accepted the contract and took the deposit. Legit businesses do not act like this. read more

This Company is horrible. I have also been waiting. I was promised 6-8 weeks they called and scheduled, then called and said the truck broke down and could not give me a date to re-schedule. I have waited another two weeks and called and they still can't give me a date when it will be here. I already put a deposit down and it cannot be refunded. I am totally disgusted and will never buy a thing from them again and advise anyone to do the same. It must be nice not to care about your customers and future business. This company should be ashamed of themselves. I wish I would of researched this before I purchased. I will also be notifying the Better Business Bureau. read more

I am trying to be as positive as possible as well as professional but my experience with this company is the worst I have every had. They gave me the run around for weeks and were never honest the entire time. This is the first time I have ever placed a negative review on anything online but I feel that I needed to warn people. I finally asked for my deposit back and am going elsewhere with my business, hopefully I am more appreciated by someone else. If you are looking for an honest company that will treat you with respect, do not try this one. I called Tri-State to get an estimate. Left a message. Call not returned. Called again a couple weeks later. Spoke with "Dana". When I told him what I wanted his first response was that he was 4 weeks out. I said that was ok. I called again asking about height. Again the first thing he said was "I'm four weeks out". Then he told me that the height was a couple hundred more. I asked if he could come see where I wanted my carport. He (Dana) said he doesn't do that. Screw him!! I wish I had known! We ordered a carport in Sept of 2015 they said it would be 4 to 6 weeks. They have never ever called us except in Dec to tell us our building would deb here the 28th. Stayed home and low and behold NO show!!! I called and they were closed for holidays. I called again the next week and was told I had to wait to have it rescheduled scheduler is out sick all week. Called back the end of the following week and the scheduler had no record of us, gave her the facts and she found our order and no one told her it hadn't been delivered!!! So she said it would be here this week. Yeah! Called today and she said it will still be here this week but she has to wait until the guys call her and tell her when. {she's the scheduler} She said they would call three days before they come. I said and it's coming this week? she said yes! I said today is Tuesday, Friday would be three days away. I asked so you're calling me today? She said yes. Mind you I called her! Have heard nothing else!! I've made about 20 calls since Sept they have made one...to tell me when it would be delivered and that never happened. We ordered a garage early Nov. the salesperson {according to the company} took the order knowing they were on hold to Michigan till the spring. We paid the deposit on a credit card, the salesperson by the name of Gene was supposed to credit my acct. on Nov. 12, which he didn't do. I called him again today Nov. 26 and asked him why he didn't credit my acct. he said he did it yesterday, I had already contacted my credit card company and they said he hasn't credited the acct. He is a liar and he stole my deposit. He is Gene from Alabama, please don't place and order through him he is very rude and unreputable. He used a curse word at the end of our conversation, F--- you and hung up. I called the company and they acted like it was not a big deal, She said they don't get the deposit the salesperson does, I asked her why does he deserve the $110 she said I would have to contact him. Which I won't do again I have my credit card company handling it they will dispute the claim and that cheat will have to pay it back. We bought our building in Feb. 2013, six months later we had some rain and the building roof leaks. We were told that we only have a 30 day warranty. We spoke to the guy who sold us the building and he called to complain, so they sent guys out to look at it. They replaced screws and ran the water hose on the roof, next time it rained it still leaked. They came out again, replacing screws and ran the water hose. We live in Texas where we have been in a drought and in the past 6 months have had record rain fall. Eagle does not care. We had another company come and look at the building and we are told that the roof was put on incorrectly and it will cost us $4200 to fix it. We had plans for this building to be insulated with a work shop and a bathroom, but with the roof leaking we can not do any of this. The company Liberty Buildings does not want do pay to fix it. It has been very frustating 2 yrs later and we can not store anything in it do to the roof leaking. read more
