A horrible, pass around practice. Went for a consult w/ Dr. Boyd for my R knee, ordered a CT and he passed me off to Dr. Franklin for my back. Franklin was an ass and shot steroids up my back, putting me in a steroid induced psychosis for 3 weeks. Was supposed to do PT w/ProRehab and when unable to do so, they threatened to call the police on me. Got sent to Dr. Perry for a simple trigger finger. He and his therapists were rude, unprofessional, and ruined my right hand. It's in a constant Vulcan "Live long and prosper" posture. When I complain, I was fired from the practice. A complete and total waste of time, money, and driving an hour to get there. Recently saw a hand doctor at Memorial Hospital in Jasper who told me I never had a trigger finger to start with but a tendon problem in my wrist and the hand was so damaged there was nothing he or surgery could repair. A practice of assholes only concerned with money while passing you from one "doctor" to another. Do not get involved with this place. They will fuck you up. read more

Went into their Urgent Care my finger was swollen, had thought it was a bug bite wasn't for sure wanted to be checked out. They refused didn't want to waste my time. Said I should be seen by my pcp. I said I am not a doctor and not sure if it was a bug bite or something else since the swelling hasn't gone down in 6 weeks. Sill refused. Guess what it wasn't a bug bite it is a cyst. So when it has to be removed your office will not see me for a consult or the surgery. You don't even deserve one start if it were an option it would have been zero. read more

I cannot saw enough great things about Dr Carter and Ashley Parker. I had my ganglion cyst removed the first time at OrthoIndy 7 years ago and had a terrible experience that left me with a very large and painful scar. Two months ago I decided I was ready to have the cyst (that grew back) removed again and see if anything could be done about the scar. I am now almost two weeks post op and I could not be more pleased with the results. The scar is virtually nonexistent and I have virtually no wrist pain. The level of care I received by Carter and his team was beyond incredible. I am still in shock about how easy and quick the process was. I can't recommend them enough! read more

This is a large office/surgery center with multiple doctors, NP's and various other offices in it. They have ample parking and the building itself is easy to get to. They have a covered porch for drop offs if necessary which is very nice since it was pouring down rain the day I was there. As I walked into the front there was good signage to point me in the direction I needed to go. I got to my waiting room and check in was very efficient. There were several people in the waiting room. I was called back fairly quickly although not at the time of my actual appointment. I was taken to do X-rays first and then back into the room to wait on the doctor. The radiology staff was very nice and efficient. I had a PA named Kaitlyn who saw me first and made her assessment and it wasn't long and Dr Hamby came in to do his assessment. He agreed with the PA and ended up giving me a cortisone injection and orders for PT and to return in a month for a follow up. Overall this office visit was very efficient and I had a great experience. read more

I fractured my ankle a month ago and Dr.Daines performed surgery and I wanted to say that despite the fact that it has been a very painful experience, that everyone at this facility has made my recovery the easiest and best possible that it could be. My daughter was treated for a broken clavicle and was treated poorly. The doctors assistant would come in and tell us one thing and then the doctor would follow up with something different. The doctor would walk in and he wasn't sure what we were there for and how many weeks it had been since the break. He came in at the 3 week mark and looked at the x-rays and said so it's been 6 weeks she's looking good. We had to tell him different. My daughter needed physical therapy and he told us it wasn't necessary. This was a break where the bone was broke in half. Not a fracture. It's been 15 weeks since the break and she's in pain when she does anything with that arm. I will not be back to this doctor. I will research new Orthopaedic businesses. read more

I had rotator cuff surgery on July 2, 2020. My surgeon was Dr. Zachery Hamby. He had completed a surgery on my right shoulder a few years ago and did fine. There was a double tear in my left shoulder this time. When I came out of anesthesia, immediately - and I mean immediately, I was in severe pain in my left arm, below the shoulder. The assistant told me that it would subside, just reaction to my arm being in the position during surgery. I was given Morphine, Hydrocodone, Oxycontin. For the next nine weeks, I was in the office trying to tell them about this pain. The assistant told me maybe it was Carpal Tunnel, since I have had Carpal Tunnel surgery before, I knew it was not. The pain would practically take me to my knees it was so bad. The forearm was in such pain, that it felt like a knife was stabbing me in the arm and being twisted. On one of the visits, I believe it was 8/21/20, Hamby actually saw me in the hall in so much pain I was trying not to weep. He looked at me and ignored me. While I was in the office that day getting an Ultrasound, never once did he come to check on me. Finally, on September 4th, 2020 after another MRI (9/2/20), Dr. Hamby came in and told me that I had to have fallen because the shoulder was torn again. When my husband and I told him that I had NOT fallen, he changed the story that the second tear did not heal. He had ignored my pain in my lower arm for nine (9) weeks. I had asked for Gabapentin but had been ignored. Finally on that visit he prescribed 100 mg of Gabapentin. He suggested an exploratory surgery or a possible shoulder replacement. We said that we were going to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis - a three hour drive one way, to get help. Dr. Ahmeed at Barnes upped the Gabapentin and the final dose was 900 mg. The Gabapentin did allow my nerve pain to decrease after some time. From what I understand, my neck (which was fused and so noted in my records from a cervical surgery in 1996) was strapped to the side and must have caused a crack in my spine, both above and below the fusion. This should not have happened as my fusion was noted in my records. I am not going to sue but I believe the actions of Dr. Zachery Hamby and his staff should be reported. I was looked at like I was a drama queen, which I am not. I needed help, and they would not acknowledge my problem. They did keep supplying me with Hydrocodone, but there were two times I was in such pain that my husband said either I take the Morphine (which I despised to take - actually, I hate any medication) or he was taking me to the emergency room. I went through nine weeks of severe pain and being dismissed by Dr. Hamby and his staff. I will never refer anyone to him. I was warned the day before about him and his staff, but I believed it was too late to cancel the surgery. How I wish I would have cancelled. read more

I had an wrist injury and yes my Dr.johnson was great,but I had a problem, the first time I went in they took exray and said ur surgery is set for Monday ok I thought well u don't get to meet ur surgeon but before I left he did come in and say hi I'm m Dr.johnson and ur surgeon it took him maybe 2 minutes this is sad our insurance pays these Doctors and do u really get to meet them they just want ur money and they give u to their staff.Hell when U have a baby u see ur gynecologist almost every visit and their busy also I had Dr.Franklin at Welborn Hospital and I think more highly of him than tri State orthopedics I'm glad he came in for maybe 2 minutes why would you want him to do it if he doesn't give u a good 10 minutes to explain to myself what he's going to do which he didn't read more

Doctor Ante . Was wrong about my broken tailbone .. tried putting me in a MRI I was crying within 5 mins. They did it under anesthesia and yes it was broken .. treated me like a drug seeker ..and simply because I was out of town and had to reschedule my appointment he discontinued me from his office. I now cannot get a release so I can go back to physical therapy that I need to go to the bathroom better. His evaluation was poor and that why he got it wrong. I am glad because I don't wanna see him again either ..jerk don't go to him. read more

There are certain Dr's at TSO that their main job is to "fix the other (TSO) Dr's screw ups. My Dr's bedside manner was very sexist. I had to have another knee replacement put in due to negligence. My mom saw Dr. Timothy Hamby and he acted like it was an imposition on his time to see her. He spent maybe 5 minutes with her. He had her raise her leg twice, bend her knee once and was done. We were there for a knee that she could put very little weight on. You think he would have had her walk so he could see how limited her mobility was. Never in my life have I been treated so pitifully by a group of doctors and their business, Tri State Orthopaedics. Dr Alvey issued me a night splint for what was suspected plantar fasciitis, and no one told me that if it didn't work for me I had 30 days to return it. It didn't work, I wasn't even able to wear it one night. A year later and I'm getting a bill for it. I have tried to return the boot since it wasn't worn and they refuse to take it back. If this review saves even ONE patient in my position (on SSDI) from making the same mistake I did in trusting this group, then it's worth the outrageous price they're insisting on billing me and sending me to collections over. Worst business practice I've ever seen in a physician's group. As for Dr Alvey himself, when he found himself at a loss as to how to help me, he pawned me off on a coworker who insists surgery is my only option. I'm still walking- NO THANKS. I agreed to pay up to 50% of the boot, but they wouldn't give me more than a 30% discount SO THEY CAN MAKE A PROFIT. I said we should go through every appt I've had here over the last year, all $300+, which I've paid in full, and count the profitable dollars they've gotten from me. Surely that would cover the cost of the boot. April the billing manager refused, said this is a different object with a different billing code so it won't count, I said if we're talking dollars then don't they all add up the same? Dr. Tim Hamby was my doctor. The very first thing I had to do was get an xray, I'm not really sure why because I hadn't seen anyone yet. After that I was examined by his assistant, she said it was a torn meniscus. A few minutes later he came in. He was in the room for maybe 2 minutes. He glanced at my xray, touched a few spots on my knee & said " I agree with my nurse, It's a torn meniscus, they will be right it to take you to get your mri, then we will get you set up for an orthoscopic surgery, it's really simple, small incisions, snip the torn piece, & you'll be good to go" My insurance had to pre-approve an mri, so I came back a week later for that. I came back the 3rd time, almost a week after that to get my results. Again, he was Very Briefly in the room, said the mri shows that my knee problems are not from a meniscus tear, but from my patella, I need to do physical therapy & that should take care of it. I told him that I didn't understand because I was told by him, his assistant & my family doctor that it was my meniscus. I've never heard of the whatever he just said it was. He repeated his previous statement as if that was supposed to help me understand and darts out of the room. My head is still reeling trying to make sense of what he just said. I had already talked to my boss to give her a heads up that it was gonna need surgery. I'm so confused. He sends someone in, I had to ask her all of my questions because he didn't stick around long enough to talk about anything. After I get home & look it up, it turns out that this patella thing is very common & a VERY brief, simple physical examination of my knee would have basically determined weither it was a meniscus or patella problem, (which still would have needed an mri to confirm). My issue is that this is his "Specialty" He barely examined it, he didn't say it could be one of several things, he just immediately jumped to meniscus/surgery. I expected him to do his job, actually look at it, talk to me, tell me what's going on!! I am extremely irritated & disappointed. read more

I agree with post on 7/17/18. Happened to me, something similar different doctor. Something is going on at tri-state, phones not being answered, rude staff, doctors leaving. I would detail this out but I am familiar with 'the list ' if you complain. Only thing left to do here is file with "the joint commission". You can too, 7/17/18 post.
