This cafe is upstairs with glass 'walls' that allow you to watch the shop below. Coffee and tea etc here are reasonably priced and taste fine. Food is served on a semi self service system a bit like school dinners were. To be honest it depends on the time you visit how appetising it looks. They always sell a vegetarian option of the days 'special' hot meal. The breakfasts are especially good but unfortunately are not served all day. Prices of meals are cheap. Which is what this is, a cheap and cheerful place for a quick meal.

Mosaico opened up about a month ago where it replaced a run down business I never could understand the aim of. It is owned by some lovely people and I felt the warmth as I walked in and had the servers smile at me... Ahh! How refreshing is that to find in London?! I only had a black coffee but it was just the way I liked it. Strong! For a medium sized coffee which lasted through my 1:15hrs journey, it was worth the £2.20p I paid. There is a descent sized seating area and a patio which allows the café to look bigger than it actually is especially during summer as the shades rolls out onto the streets blocking the sun from the set tables and chairs. They not only serve hot and cold beverages but they also serve food and ice cream. Drink, main and desert do you say? I plan on going back to try out more than just a coffee but until then, if you're on the high street and need some real Italian coffee, you know where to go!

I enjoy looking round this shop as it is nicely laid out, the staff leave you alone to look but are helpful if you ask questions, and it has seats. However, I have very rarely actually bought anything because the prices are so high. Almost everything is at RRP, whereas online things are considerably less. Good for window shopping, but then make your purchases elsewhere!

As it's out of the way at the back of the Two Rivers shopping centre it hardly ever seems busy - the best time to come is after 5pm (it's open till at least 7pm most nights) and you can pretty much have the place to yourself. Tesco's books are particularly good value and they often do a 2 for £7 for their top paperbacks. The clothing ranges are also good value and the sizes (particularly for men's ranges) go quite high. The Staines Homeplus is generally kept tidy and I've found staff to be helpful. My only two (minor) quibbles would be that sometimes goods are reduced and the first you know about it is when you're paying for them - if you'd known earlier you might have bought more than one item. And secondly, that when it does get busy there often aren't enough tills open so that you end up waiting longer to pay than you'd like.

The shop itself is a bit tucked away and you'd be forgiven for not noticing it as you drove past. If you do drive you'll need to find street parking or park in one of the few spaces reserved for the other shops in the High Street. Once inside you'll find a well organised shop with plenty of good books in great condition. The bookshop is laid out like a well organised regular bookshop or even a library and so the traditional sorting through piles of books that seems to happen in charity shops is but a distant memory. All manner of books are carried from popular fiction through to rarer antique books. There are sometimes a few music manuscripts too. There's an excellent children's corner too, with a small table and chairs. You'll pay a slight premium for the books here but I think it's worth it as they tend to be in great condition and they've done the sorting for you. If you fancy the latest chick lit or blockbuster title, wait a few months and I'll bet they have several copies here. Worth a trip to save a few pennies if you like to own your books rather than borrow them from the libraries.

It's not very large, but is nevertheless jam-packed with books that the friendly staff are very willing to help you navigate. They have a dedicated classics section as well as large areas for history and science fiction. The children's section is also very well-stocked. The prices are very reasonable and they encourage you to buy books and return them when you're done with them so that others can enjoy them, which is a great way of donating to a very worthwhile cause.
