Wait. Wait. How is it possible that I haven't reviewed Tribu before? These are my PEOPLE. In fact, I'm almost nervous to share them with the rest of Sydney, because I don't want anything to change--that's how much I love this salon.
When I moved to Sydney a few years ago, I wasted the better part of year with a well-known hair salon chain that was slowly making me blonder and blonder, despite the fact that I did not set out to rock that look (don't worry, I figured it out, but...damn).
Finding Tribu (actually, it was recommended by a friend, and I'm eternally grateful) has been a serious light in the dark. Actually, it's probably the opposite, because I'm finally back to the dishwater-blonde-almost-brunette look that I've always been meant for. Seriously, it looks better than it sounds.
Most recently, I took the plunge and chopped off a good chunk of my hair--something I've always wanted to do but never felt I had the right stylist to guide me through. And I honestly don't think I will ever go back to longer hair--the length and style it's at now is my favorite look I've ever had, by far (ok, except maybe for the fire engine red highlights in year six).
The thing that I love most about Tribu, even aside from the fact that you will always walk out looking your best, is that you will feel your best, too. The crew here are such genuine, rock star human beings that I really look forward to my appointments. And Mel, my stylist, is just as capable of neon rainbow unicorn hair as she is of managing "boring office worker breaking out of her shell" type looks (those would be mine, btw).
If you're looking for a salon with incredible staff, a sixth sense for style and reasonable prices, head over to Tribu. You most definitely will not regret it. read more
