    Phnom Pehn noodle dry
    Corinna W.

This is a hole in the wall restaurant that's been here for 40 years. Owners are Cambodian Chinese and so nice. We ordered the Phnom Penh noodles dry style with egg noodles which came with a beef rib bone in a broth on the side, salt and pepper wings and the Phnom Penh noodles in broth. All very good and we really enjoyed the broth with our noodles phnom pehn noodles has a variety of meats like meatball, shrimp, char siu, chicken and roast duck. The salt and pepper wings were crispy and full of flavor. I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised how delicious they were. There's no frills here. Service is good and food comes out quickly. Also there's a parking lot so that helps a lot in this area.

My husband's favorite place for noodle soup! His go-to order is the BBQ pork thin rice noodles with intestine. I've tried a few different dishes here, the satay dry beef noodles and wonton noodles were not really my favorites , but overall, most of the dishes are pretty good. The restaurant is run smoothly by a family, and the service is efficient. We've never had to wait for a seat, which makes the experience even better. A reliable and comfortable spot for a satisfying bowl of noodles.

Don't miss this place, Savory broth with bone marrow and lovely shank meat... also probably the best pork wonton's I've had in Little Saigon, Pork intestine added to the dry noodles was a lovely substitute- it tastes like a soft and toned down version of five spice duck. The service has always been excellent, there are a couple other Cambodian restaurants in the neighborhood but not at this level... Ambiance is OG. A "Best of Little Saigon" hands down. We will be back soon!

I've been here a few times, but never had a chance to review this place. By far one of the only few Cambodian-Chinese restaurants in San Diego that offers authentic taste. I always order the same food, which is the porridge and it won't disappoint if you're looking for some comfort food. The taste is always consistent and the service is consistent. Looks like this place is run by a small family and they have been around for a very long time. The fish cake is also very fresh and tasty. Every time I come here, I'm treated with amazing customer service and delicious home cooked style meal. The portion is also generous. Overall highly recommend to give this place a try.

This is my favorite Chinese noodle place in San Diego, heck maybe even in all of SoCal. I absolutely love the bone marrow soup that comes with every noodle order. I got the sate noodle soup with flat rice noodle, and it was delicious (it's a bit spicy, so beware). My boyfriend got a Hainanese chicken rice which is tasty as well. We also got their Salt and Pepper shrimp which was good, but I think I prefer the Salt and Pepper chicken wings a bit more. The staff is lovely and food comes out fast and piping hot. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's a small lot but we've had good luck both times we've been here. Even though the restaurant is old, it's very clean and well maintained. Overall, I would highly recommend this family owned restaurant!

I've heard of this place but never been, until today. The menu is easy to read and follow. There is plenty of interior seating and the space is clean. Friendly people. We ordered Hu Tieu, you can choose which noodles you want -- from flat rice, to thin rice, to egg noodle, etc. And then you choose what combination you want, I chose the WONTON one with THIN EGG NOODLE. Even though it was wonton, it also came with shrimp, a piece of duck, chicken meat maybe, and some fish balls. The broth was sweet and flavorful with the cilantro and green onion addition. You can also get a side of Chinese donut to put into the broth. It's super filling and delicious for lunch. We had great ice water and nice hot tea with a good jasmine flavor. The price was about $15 for each and we got the "small" bowls. Which were honestly quite big and we had a bit of leftover. Great place for lunch!

ALWAYS ALWAYS GOOD. The bone broth is out of this world. service is fast. It's a staple stop when we are craving noodles and soup. COMBO #1 EVERY TIME!! The wings are also good. Parking is pretty easy with a lot. Chinese restaurant decor.

Really enjoyed this spot. combo 1 was interesting, very clear broth. Good with the chinese donut. Skip chow fun. Chicken wings were decent.

As soon as I saw an Instagram post on Trieu Chau, I had it bookmarked. Reason, "Trieu Chau" is the Chinese dialect me and my family speaks, I just had to check it out and the food & Yelp reviews sounds great! I was excited, when I asked my love, my Uber driver to take me here. The bright yellow sign is so welcoming, Old School, mom & pop business been around for 30+ years, spoke to owner Cathy in both Trieu Chau and English and she recommended some dishes that are Trieu Chau style. On Oahu I believe there is one business in Chinatown that serves this style foods. Cathy and her sons run the shop, located in original Chinatown, this is what I learned being a newbie to this area of San Diego. We started off with the combination soup , got the flat rice noodle which comes with duck, pork, chicken, shrimp & meatball. Went with dry style with soup on the side and Chinese breadsticks. I enjoyed eating the noods and toppings then slurping the soup after. Loved sucking the bone marrow and trying to get all the meats and fat, brought back childhood memories when my mom cooked us vegetable pork soup. The broth is so refreshing and flavorful, I wish I can come back for more of this soup! I wish I could try all the dishes but the other half and I can't eat that much. We decided upon the pork chop with rice and veggies, a few of owner's recommendations. The pork is very tender and I loved the pickled veggies, the rice dish also comes with the pork soup which is perfect, more of that yummy soup goodness!! The coconut was a nice after meal treat. As always, our eyes are bigger than our stomach, we couldn't finish the plate and packed it to go to finish later at the hotel. All in all, I am happy I get to visit Trieu Chau Restaurant, there's also Trieu Chau in Santa Ana, not same owners. Can't wait to be back for Trieu Chau foods again, on our next visit to SD!!

Always love coming here. By far one the best hole in the wall Asian comfort foods. The bone soup is always a must. The people are very and accommodating.

We also ordered the garlic green beans, but they came out so late that we were already completely full from the noodles, so we took them to go. Thank god we did, because they turned out to be pretty salty on their own and really needed to be paired with white rice at home. Overall, an amazing spot for authentic noodles! Something I didn't love though, you order and pay through the online menu. Considering you leave a tip I don't fully understand how it works when we did this whole process ourselves. I also noticed other tables getting plates and bowls which we had to ask for. Overall, I felt the servers weren't too friendly either and seemed to rush through our table despite them standing around not seeming too busy. The food was excellent though! The soup had a great spice to it and super flavorful. The beef and onion was so juicy and addictive, the green beans were good too and had a slight kick to them.

The shrimp were huge, and the caramelized walnuts were broken up and sprinkled all over so you could taste it in every bite. The portions were alright--three dishes were enough for two people. The waitstaff made themselves available if you needed anything while dining. We made a reservation online and indicated it was for a special occasion, but nothing special was done. We didn't expect anything, really, but it doesn't make too much sense to have the option to mark our dinner as a special event on the reservation website. TL;DR It's really good. Go here…read more -------------- I came here after a friend recommended it when I told them I was coming down to San Diego for a day trip during my spring break from school in Orange County. I was born and raised in LA, so I've had a lot of Chinese food growing up, and I wasn't expecting to be this surprised--but I really was. I ordered the black bean eggplant and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings are what they're known for, but I have to start with the eggplant because it completely caught me off guard. It wasn't mushy at all--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and coated in sauce without losing its texture. Every bite had depth and balance, not just saltiness. I actually meant to start with the wings, but the eggplant was so good I ended up eating half of it before even getting to them. By that point I was already getting full, but I still made sure to finish the wings--and I'm honestly excited to take the rest of the eggplant home as leftovers. By the time I got to the wings, I understood why they're popular--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying--but what stood out to me was how both dishes complemented each other. One rich and layered, the other crisp and bright. I never got tired of eating, which honestly says a lot. I even told the staff how much I enjoyed the food and they thought I was joking, but I meant every word in saying I thought it was comparable, if not better then the food I've had in Chinatown in LA. Really glad I came here and the next time I have a chance to come back down to SD I definitely will come back here and that's not negotiable for me

This place is NOT worth the high rating it has. We ordered the Fried Green Beans, they were cooked in oil that was obviously not to temperature. Too greasy for consumption. To make it worse? They were drowned in salt! The Crispy Beef was nothing but thick dough with no beef inside. To add insult to injury it was BURNED so badly that all you could smell was burnt dough and taste burned dough. Hardly any sauce on it as well. The Shrimp Fried Rice should have just been plain white rice for how bland it was. The Vegetable Chow Mein literally was just a container of salt. Slim noodles and salt, disgusting! We spent so much money and all of this is going right into the garbage. Stay away from this hole! It should be shut down for trying to poison people. Feels like I am going to go blind from the amount of salt I ingested from only a few bites. Gross!!

Afterwards, we thought it was AYCE on the menu of your choice + the side buffet where there are limited selections of sides and refrigerated drinks.
