If so youd never know it cause she was so accommodating. She also suggested some amazing places to check out in Boston. Kat was my server she was the sweetest and on top of her game. Seemed like she had a system cause the way she worked the room was so meticulous. We never waited long and was constantly checked on. That may seem like a small feat but it was just her and the room was full to capacity. There were maybe 3 bar seats left. I haven't had good, friendly service like that for a while. I did Sunday afternoon tea here and really loved it! Included for $99 was the a starter biscuit, 3 tiers of food, one pot of tea, a glass of liqueur for your tea, and a glass of champagne. I got the rotating special tea, I believe it was champagne berry flavored. It was sooo delicious! I sweetened mine with the sugar stick provided and I used the liqueur pairing provided. This place makes me so happy, specifically the Afternoon Tea. Overall 4.5 stars, service is outstanding (Evan really made the entire experience), and the food is innovative, fun, and delicious. This is certainly a treat yourself kind of moment, but tell me why I want to come every week! There isn't really any parking in the area, so be prepared to walk or rideshare. The afternoon tea experience includes a generous pour of champagne, a pot of tea with a wide variety to choose from, a paired liquor that compliments the tea you choose, and a tower of treats. I'll break it down by tiers: 1) Scones with clotted cream, strawberry jam, and custard - the cutest little buttery scones, the strawberry jam is so fresh 2) Savory - the lobster roll and their take on lox and deviled eggs are out of this world. The breads can be a little dry, but to be expected when these things can't be made to order 3) Desserts - while still yummy, it's my least favorite tier. Some are a little dry, and others are a little too heavy. Very rich and decadent which can get overwhelming I didn't expect it, but you leave here pretty stuffed. It's located on the first floor of the hotel in a small alcove. The service staff were fantastic and the ambience was very nice. Celebrated my birthday here last month and I had a really good time! We ordered the tower which idk the name of it but we got a lot of options and it was very filling as well. My favorite was the scones, the deviled eggs, and the chocolate little dessert in the bottom of the picture. The tea and the cups it came was so pretty and cute. I think that's like one of my favorite parts lol. Our server was ok, nothing she did really stood out to me but she was nice. I wish we had sat a little more inside near the bar, sitting where the elevator was kind of made it awkward that people were passing by behind us and could see and listen to what we were doing. I came to Trifecta a year ago for a Valentine's themed tea with my girlfriends and forgot to leave a review then (better late than never)! We were all impressed with the selection of teas and the quality of the sandwiches, scones and pastries which were delicious!!!! The tea was served in beautiful tea pots which I was told you can purchase from the Four Seasons Hotel. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. As someone who loves high tea, I can say that this is one of the best afternoon tea venues in the Boston area and also one of the most pricey. Trifecta charges $99 per person, including a glass of champagne. Unfortunately, they do not knock the price down if you opt out of alcohol, but you can get sparkling cider or another non-alcoholic alternative. They also did not make dietary substitutions for any of the sandwiches, which surprised me for such an expensive place. The menu is pre-fixe. The ambience is chick and modern. If you are looking for an old fashioned vintage/Victorian style tea service, you are better off going to the Boston Harbor Hotel (Rowes Wharf Sea Grille). At Trifecta, we were seated in the hotel lobby, not at a nice table with a white linen tablecloth, which is what I usually expect for this type of occasion. I'm not deducting stars for that because it didn't impact the quality of our experience, but it did surprise me. read more

We stopped by during dine out boston for dinner. It was a three course dinner for $46, which was fairly pricey. Including drinks, our bill was around $130. The restaurant was inside the hotel and when we got there, it was empty but by the time we left it was packed. For starters, we got the oyster tacos and fried mushrooms. The tacos were light and flavorful and the mushrooms were crispy. The sauce that came with the mushrooms was very strong and pungent but paired well with both of the starters. For main, we got the burger and the pasta. These took a while to come out, so it felt like we were waiting a long time. The burger was delicious and huge, so I was pretty stuffed after this. The pasta was spicier than we were expecting but it was really refreshing. By dessert, we were both full but powered through. We got a chocolate cake and raspberry cheesecake but we only took a bite or two before calling it quits. They weren't anything memorable or special. Overall, we had a good time but the drinks were so expensive. The espresso martini was almost $30. The food was good but not worth the price so we probably won't be back. read more

After having an amazing high tea experience while we were away in in NYC, my girlfriend found this place located near us in Boston. First of all, the service was outstanding. Very polite, helpful, and not overly attentive. Ambiance is definitely essential for a high tea place, and this place definitely was up to par. The tea itself was good. My favorite out of the two we got was the chamomile. But, I just found myself wishing they offered some milk teas as well. They gave us some spirits to go with the teas that we didn't have since we don't really drink alcohol, but it was a nice gesture and I'm sure it would have paired up nicely. The food items were quite good. My favorites were the curry bite and the pretzel one (I forget the actual names). The deserts, while satisfactory, were a bit lacking in variety. Absolutely loved this place! I studied abroad in London when I was in college and this afternoon tea experience here really took me back! There aren't a ton of places in Boston that does afternoon tea like this and I wish there were. Trifecta does not disappoint and reminded me of all the afternoon teas I had in London. This experience comes with champagne to start, then your tea, and finally the tower of food. I chose an earl grey tea which was really lovely. They also provide you with a liqueur to compliment your tea which I thought was interesting and hadn't seen before~ you can either sip it with your tea or put it in altogether. The food itself was delicious! It doesn't look like much because it's small but don't be fooled by the size. By the time you work your way down to the bottom plate of desserts, it's quite filling. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the service. First of all they were very strict towards the 90 minute policy. Towards the end our waitress kept reminding us that we only had a few minutes left and we had to wrap it up. I understand the time limits but for a fancy place like that I was disappointed they were rushing us out so quick. I would have liked more tea had there been more time, and I wish they came to check if we needed more throughout. Also at the end when we were paying, our waitress made a mistake with our payment not once, not twice, but three times. It eventually got fixed but it was very frustrating and strange. Overall though I would certainly come back and definitely recommend. This is a great place for a fancy afternoon tea experience, and for beautiful decor and atmosphere. This experience was arguably the best afternoon tea I've had in the US. And to be completely honest, it set my boyfriend's bar very high, despite never having been to an afternoon tea before this. The ambiance was elegant with a beautiful attention to detail. The teapots were intricately decorated and colorful, providing a lovely pop of color for the neutral tones in the room. Their pre-set afternoon tea menu comes with a unique selection of quality teas. Originally, I selected the Champagne and Berries tea, but found the flavor and sweetness level to be too strong, so I had it replaced with their signature black blend. The three-tiered masterpiece was even more beautiful than I was expecting. The lemon curd that accompanied the scones was delicious. Each of the savory bites was unique and untraditional, playing with modern flavor and design. The sweet tier was full of colorful, fruity cakes. They were all on the sweeter side, but all extremely delicious. Despite everything being bite-sized, I found myself struggling to finish the last few bites; I was beyond full. Dropped by for a drink. It was not crowded at the time so got a seat right away. The place is small, a lot smaller than I thought looking at the photos. Waiter was nice. Atmosphere feels classy however it is near stairs/elevator where people go up and down, as this is a hotel after all. The menu is beautiful and each drink has a story. Got the "Stir The Pot" and it was delicious and strong in alcohol, without too much overpowering the overall taste of the drink. Complementary bar snacks included caramel popcorn and roasted pecans. However, today the restaurant had canceled my reservation without my acknowledgment and no reason was provided for the cancellation. My plan is interrupted and now I have to find a new place to host the event for next week. Please be aware of this may happen to you. My recommendation is to find a different restaurant that offers afternoon tea for your next event. The last minute cancellation is not acceptable and professional on their part. read more

What a fun treat! Recently just visited Trifecta for afternoon tea for the first time and had a lovely experience. For some reason I expected the restaurant to be high up in the Four Seasons so it would have a view? Not sure why I thought that was the case; unfortunately, it is on the ground level, so no skyline view here sadly. It was also definitely smaller than I expected. Service was great; the host took our jackets to coat check so we didn't need to sit with them and have them crowding us. The waitress was attentive and did a good job explaining every single item on the tiered platter, which is a lot of different details to remember, so very impressive. The one food qualm I had was that, for a high tea, the tea menu seemed a bit small/incomplete. I know it probably changes seasonally, so not sure if it sometimes is longer, but upon my visit in November, there were only 9 teas on the menu, and a lot of tea categories weren't even options (ie there was no green tea or jasmine/white tea or oolong...there were a few fruity ones, one spicy/chai-esque tea, one earl grey, one citrus, one chamomile, etc.). Anyway, I just thought that was a bit lacking for a place whose focus is literally the tea. Besides that, the food was excellent. I've been to several other high teas and, as fun as they are, the food often looks better than it tastes. In this case, I really thought every bite I had was as good as it looked (with the exception of the lobster roll bite; the lobster was good but the roll was super dry?). Everything was beautiful and picture perfect as far as food goes, and then the tea kettles/cups are also gorgeous (I want to buy them!) There was also a lot of food/drink; I know $99/pp isn't cheap for a high tea, but I definitely was quite full upon leaving, so I definitely felt like I got my money's worth in all the small bites and lots of liquids! I also think it's unique that they do a liquor pairing with your tea; I don't think I see that often, so that was a fun twist (AND that was in addition to the glass of champagne everyone gets!). I don't drink alcohol so they gave me a delicious mocktail instead, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Because I wouldn't drink the champagne, they brought me sparkling cider which I loved. My friend and I had a delightful time at Trifecta, the high tea spot in the Four Seasons Hotel in the Back Bay. In comparison to other tea places we've visited, it was a little pricey. We went in the Fall of 2022 and paid about $90 per person. That turned out (we think) to be at least in part because the price includes alcoholic drinks that pair with the tea. I don't drink, so of course the extra value was lost on me, but it might be possible to opt out. The person I was with enjoyed both drinks, so I didn't look into it. The food was excellent. The person who brought it out to us was very knowledgeable and explained every item. She was kind and patient about all of our questions. The room we were in was surprising. It was just a few feet off from the entrance to the hotel. There was an elevator right next to our table. Neither of these were really intrusive but in comparison to the Boston Public Library's tea room, for example, it was a little disappointing. I should mention, the table next to us had little kids and I believe they were able to order from a kid's menu. Very cute! read more

Came here for drinks on a Friday night with some friends. The bar area is tucked away in the back and has a bunch of small intimate tables. The vibe is chill and classy, definitely not somewhere that blasts the music preventing you from having a conversation. It still has that hotel bar feel though. The drinks were very creative and the presentation was nice. Each drink has a cool story so it's fun to work your way through the menu. First time here in four seasons. The entrance was a little hard to find and our table wasn't ready when we got there. To start, you have a choice of rose or champagne, which came w a savory eclair topped w a bit of caviar. Tasted great just had a bit too much cheese filing. Then our tea came, I got the some berry black tea and my friend got the lady blue earl grey, the server poured the tea out too early so sadly our first cup of tea had no tea flavor, just the added flavors of vanilla and berries. We got accompanying liquors for our tea but we didn't like either. The scones were delicious, packed with flavor (blueberry, cranberry and cinnamon) that I didn't even use the jam provided. The sandwiches were good too but like the savory eclair earlier, too much flavor packed in too little casing. I was surprised at how good the cucumber sandwich is! I normally pass on that in afternoon teas but since the other sandwiches were so flavorful, I went for it to freshen up my taste buds. It was so good, the bread was almost a cake like texture and it had just enough feta smeared. Additionally, one of the servers kept pushing my chair in as she walked in between my seat and another customer's seat to cross the room which I felt wasn't very polite as my seat wasn't even in the aisle so there was not much space for me to push in more to sit comfortably. Next, the teas were very fragrant. I tried the hibiscus lychee green tea. I really wanted to try the earl grey tea so I had to make an effort to flag someone down to order it though. The scones, sandwiches, and pastries were another downfall. The scones were extremely dry. The sandwiches were okay, but nothing to rave about. The pastries were also mediocre. Thus, the service wasn't great and the food was poor to mediocre. I wouldn't pay over $70 to have high tea here again. read more

My like their savory sandwiches, deviled egg, cucumber feta, salmon with yuzu sauce, and the portobello sandwich are all very flavorful. The sweet tier is mediocre, most things are too sweet. The raspberry toffee tart thingy is pretty good. My least favorite is the scone plate, all the scones are cold and hard. The jam and jelly doesn't make it better. More disappointing is their tea, I tried their champagne and berry, which is just very regular berry tea you could get at any shop. The liquor pairing is more interesting and goes well with the sweets. The foie gras macaron they give you before you order is actually my favorite, it's a good balance of savory and sweetness, and very unique.
