There was a lot of popping, and booming, and every time one person moved away from the microphone or moved to the microphone there was a loud long squeal. And, the preacher went off on a homophobic side trip about the recently deceased in front of his family and friends, and that is cool at all in my book, but I cannot hold this church responsible for the preachers words because the preacher was a guest preacher brought in by the family for the elegy. I am going to give them 4 stars. I want to give them 5 stars because it was a beautiful funeral full of love. But when you get right down it, it was beautiful because it was a beautiful family, and the congregation was beautiful. It was all so sad and tragic and beautiful, but fix the sound if you want to reach for my Soul and my Sunday.

I was greeted with smiles and there was available parking and seating. I believe this is a non-denominational church but one thing I know for sure is that they love Jesus Christ our Savior. If you are looking for a local church where your family can worship together, conveniently located in your area, check this church out. One thing I heard while visiting is they have plans and study groups to help many age groups on their Life Growth Track, who doesn't want an extra push in the right direction. Being stable mentally, physically and emotionally is very important and this check spoke about the importance of Healing and letting God into your life to make you whole again. I will return soon and will bring a friend. Check them out, they have services on Sundays at 9am and 11am, and I believe Bible Study during the week. Closed on Monday but the historical marker in front gives history and the grounds are open for walking. It reads, "Episcopal services in Palatka were first conducted in 1846 by the Rev. John F. Young, later Bishop of Florida (18767-1885). The parish was organized in 1853, and the church completed in 1854. During the Civil War, St. Mark's was used as a barracks by Federal troops and suffered considerable damage. After the War, the church served as the missionary center of the Episcopal Church in the St. Johns Valley. The original building, though altered, is still in use today." It is marker number F-84 and was erected in 1962 by the Florida Board of Parks and Historical Memorials in cooperation with Putnam County Historical Society. There is street parking. Friendly, neighborly & oldest church in the City of Palatka…read more Formerly organized in 1853, but the Parish wasnt formerly recognized until 1873, due to the Civil War, 1861-1865. According to one of the tour guides, the church & city were saved by the efforts of one Mary Easely & her neighbor, who boldly went to the wharf & requested a meeting with the Union' ship Captain firing canons, who listened & stopped the barrage. The church sanctuary just finished a year long, 'labor of love' renovation by parishoners, post-Hurricane Irma, the rains of which seeped into the walls & caused extensive Black Mold damage. New steps in the entry, painted & stained glass panels greet the visitor, as does the architecture. A small 'Memorial Garden' exists behind the sanctuary for any parishioner wishing to be interred on church property. The Parish Hall serves as a meeting place, and the Old Rectory houses the priests of St. Mark's.
