Weight loss is not easy! I decided to invest in my life. I am overweight and I don't eat super unhealthy or drink alcohol very often, I exercise some but it is so hard for me to lose weight. When I diet I lose 10 pounds then I plateau and gain everything back in a heartbeat practically. I get it is about lifestyle change but it is still hard to break habits. Today with just my first coaching lesson I learned so much as to why my body reacts the way it does. My body is in metabolic syndrome. I see the stats out there that the number one cause of death in America is obesity. Those obesity related diseases are killing us. I don't want that to be me. I decided to take charge of my life today. I know how to eat healthy. I know what I need to do but I am not getting it done by myself. I need to change my weight loss game so I decided to invest in a coach so I can win at this game of life. If you want to learn to play tennis you take lessons. When my children learned to drive I instantly signed them up in driving school. So it finally clicks after years of on and off again weight loss. I need help. I need to understand my body. I need to learn what is best for me. I need a professional. I kept thinking it was crazy to pay for someone to say "you shouldn't eat that" but how many times do you see someone on a cover of a magazine cuz they lost weight. I always think "whoopie they lost weight". But then again it so hard. And yes it is a newsworthy story when someone actually achieves weight lose. I also need accountability to my pocketbook and to someone who genuinely cares about my health. And that is what I got today. This coaching is very specialized. You start filling out a form and answering basic questions. They take your blood pressure. They do a body fat analysis. They also ask you to get some very specific blood tests done. With all this data they can tell you what is going on with your body and what needs to change. Today was my first experience and I learned so much. I didn't know and I study this stuff pretty often. Water amounts, proteins amounts supplement amounts have often confused me but when I had a coach look at my personal data and give me direction. I already feel a sense of accomplishment. The visit is about 2 hours and some change depending on your needs. it is in an office complex with many other businesses. And it is by appointment only. All of which I am fine with. They don't have a dedicated office space and use one of those multi-plex office spaces. This business runs efficiently and thank God because I thought it was going to be really expensive but honestly it was so reasonable. The staff doesn't rush and they really want to get to know you and exactly what needs; they can help you with. It is truly a tailored plan. I will update my review with my progress.
