They have a wonderful selection, there is literally something for everyone here. There are modern pieces, a small selection of estate jewellery, more classics or boho type pieces, and even a small selection for men. There is also a huge price range which is nice, many affordable pieces in the $50-100 range and also some precious stones and metals in the $500 + range. The exposed brick wall and open workshop give Fawcett's its own hands-on personality. The goldsmith, Blaine, welcomed me kindly and was very helpful in giving me the shop scoop. While the show room displays mainly engagement rings, formal bands and the like, the business is built on custom designed jewelry. Everything is made right here in the shop, behind a wall divider, so as the goldsmith works, you can roam the shop and see him go. Its a different experience, and I liked it. The jewels are too rich for my blood, but maybe some day. Blaine mentioned that they were branching out with some newer and lower price range product, so don't let price stop you from going in for a peek. The only thing I can't comment on here is price - my guy refuses to disclose what he spent, but I would imagine it was a lot based on the quality of the stones and the gold work. Pricing is not for the faint of heart, but what you get is quality and craftsmanship. There is no rhodium plating here - you get the real deal. The customer service is also excellent, particularly when contrasted with the service of chain stores.

I noticed on some photographs here on Yelp that the rear part of the store must have been an art gallery in the past, however this is no longer the case.. Now its an expansion of the sales floor. The first thing one notices when entering the store is the multitude of hats around.. If it weren't for other art pieces on display, one could easily think think the whole store is just for hats. We got a really cool hat made of rain-jacket material. It certainly came in handy since there was a raging snow/rain storm going on outside and those specific hats are waterproof.. I also really liked their knitted winter wear hats/tuques. Some of them are quite unique (see photo I added to the business profile). Theres also a lot of locally crafted art and handmade jewelry. So I walked out with shoes, hair clips and a purse all for $45 gotta love it!
