During the services each of 2 Sunday services (8:00 & 10:00) hosts a brief meet & greet extending friendship and welcome to all parishioners.  The services offer a musical feast in between oral messages. The pastors rotate so that head paster Barry Crane is not always the key speaker. His sermons are special as he has a natural presentation style that is calm, reassuring and dynamic. The other pastoral staff rotates so that everyone gets a chance to lead the worshipers and to share their unique ideas. Doctrine tends to be more conservative with traditional values and practices. While some area Christian churches are heavily into political messages, this church uses a soft approach, which some members find comforting. North Sound Church is an escape to solace providing a break from all the political arguing, a place to give your mind a rest and just enjoy the fellowship it provides.

The services are streamed online and my parents watch them in the living room Sunday mornings. I have found myself wandering down and joining them in watching and/or listening to the service each week for the past few weeks. I even watched the Maundy Thursday service this year! The messages have good take-aways that can be used to guide choices and decisions in day-to-day life and the music is consistently good to great. If there are things conveyed in the sermon that one of us (me, my mom, or my dad) has questions about we'll discuss it afterwards, helping us growth in our faith together. Overall an enjoyable experience.

After visiting four other churches and being disappointed, we were invited to Mill Creek Foursquare. From the first service we attended, we knew we had found it (and we couldn't wait to go back!). The pastoral staff here is sound in teaching and Biblical knowledge, and they care deeply for the church community. The lead pastor, Chris Manginelli, told the congregation he loved them the first Sunday we were there. I was pleasantly surprised that he would show vulnerability like that in front of hundreds of people. Now, we are integrated in to the community and an active part of the volunteer leadership. We are so happy to call this place home! I also value how involved our church is in local and international missions, community life through small group gatherings, how we encourage and support women in leadership, social justice, and how well we love our children. Life is good here and the love of God is abundant!

They encourage and support start up charity's and donate regularly to other community charities. They help single mom's, teenagers, street people and so on. Your tithe money is passed on to various needs both regular and in emergency situations. At the end of the year once the budget has been met they give the rest as huge donations to help with needs.

When the community across the street was having maintenance done, displacing many residents from their usual places to park, this church threatened to tow anyone who parked in their large nearly vacant lot. The next day, when they realized the maintenance was going to take a few days, they showed their true colors even more, by charging their neighbors to park in their large spacious almost empty parking lot. Pretty sure this is not what Jesus would do.. As a matter of fact, I would be embarrassed to be a member of a church of God who threatens and then exploits their neighbors in their time of need. Although we have not regularly attended (we are attending another local church where our children have lots of friends) people remember us! And when we have attended we have been greeted warmly. A lot of churches are so big they don't even notice when someone new arrives. Not here. We have considered moving from our current church to LCBC because of this feeling of friendliness. It feels more friendly than the church we've been attending for years! They also sing songs that we know (i.e. fairly traditional hymns and praise songs, but with energy) which may seem like an odd comment but the current trend it seems is to sing a bunch of unfamiliar pop-ish type songs and you end up viewing it as a concert instead of interactive worship which defeats the purpose!
