I was searching for some guidance with the immigration process for my Canadian partner. The admin staff that I worked with before the consultation fumbled with very basic communications for completing an in-take form: sending and receiving e-mail with attachments was impossible. The team couldn't even get our names correct when calling us; My first his last and vica versa . I had to screenshot the form from my computer screen and text it. I specified immigration from Canada and when i finally was at the $134 consultation, which lasted 10 minutes, it became clear that the attorney knew very little about immigration from Canada. We also specified that we were looking for guidance, not for his law firm to do the entire job. It quickly became the attorney trying to secure a large fee for a job he could not clearly articulate the steps of. In the end we did not get any real guidance, just salesman jargon and pressure to buy some ill defined immigration package. Disappointing experience all around. There are likely better firms that are more professional and less focused on getting $, but actually giving legal advice/guidance .
