He has run the shop on the island for 12 years after 20+ years in England. The shop is an utter mess. Books everywhere. Wine bottles everywhere. A lost hat, dripping from a book in the front. A teacup, dirty or clean? Who knows but perched around Russian Lit. A great find? Probably but he only knows where a few things are. We spent an hour hunting through primarily nothing special but left with an adorable children's book. Not before discussing the owner's grandchildren and the sad state of American politics. All the while, our friend is coughing and my husband was convinced he will likely die one day amongst the shelves and the lady shop owners nearby will play not iT for who calls the authorities. Seriously, it was so delicious visiting this bookstore. You will be glad you take a few minutes to support the shopkeeper and have the time of your life will doing it. Call ahead for hours.
