If you have…read morethe time to visit the immaculate region of Costa Brava during your trip to Spain, Playa de Llafranc is an excellent beach to explore during your journey. The quaint beach town of Palafrugell is picturesque and Playa de Llafranc is the perfect little beach to relax at. The water is so clean and clear! The perfect aqua hue with the most shallow and inviting waves. Trust me, you WILL be getting into this water while you're here. It's so peaceful and calming. There are others who will also be there enjoying this beautiful beach too, but crowded is what it is NOT. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. The sand is so soft and warm. The water temp is perfect too. Even in Mid-October the weather was just fabulous and I couldn't resist getting in. The views are what makes this destination so special. Not only do you have the most impressive coastal views, but you'll also get some gorgeous views of the pretty beach towns that surround the area. I actually saw a live octopus swim up shore while I was here. A gentleman on the beach picked him up and everyone gathered around to take a peek. It was pretty interesting. I've never seen an octopus just casually wash up on the shore like that before. Not in Hawaii, not in Mexico, and definitely not in Florida or California. That's how you know this beach is different. Even the octo's are loving it! What's nice is that this beach is super accessible and easy to get down to. There are a few restaurants that are literally steps away if you get hungry and want to enjoy lunch with a coastal view. Spent the afternoon here and enjoyed every second of it. I was actually bummed to leave but the drive is pretty long from Barcelona (roughly 3 hours long). Next time I'd definitely stay in town and explore more of the coast, but it makes for a wonderful day trip too.

Yes, I've climbed the Himalayas and lived off the beaches in Thailand, but I love me some video…read moregames as well. We had a great time here to get out of the sun. Neither me nor my boyfriend are big on disco-techs or casinos, but love to cool off with some racing games. They have a small bummper car lot, but we didn't get a chance to play there, much to my dismay. The thing I really enjoyed about this place was it wasn't over run by teenagers (I know, it's their place and we're fuddy-duddies). Safe, clean, and I didn't feel too much out of place except for the rather loud Rihanna and Lady Gaga-esque music.

It checks every scenic box -- a medieval castle overlooking the beach, boats gently bobbing in the bay, dramatic rock formations, and even a lone tree growing atop a rock at the far end, like something out of a painting. This is Costa Brava at its finest. The vibe is peaceful and family-friendly, with a few charming beachside cafés, locals and tourists alike soaking up the sun, and a town that feels both vibrant and timeless. The beach itself is clean, beautiful, and easy to enjoy -- whether you're swimming, wandering, or just sitting and taking it all in. What a lovely beach in an absolutely magical town. I could stay forever. 5 stars -- no question.
