Finally the company asked us to sign a contract for more work on the roof to fix it. The company took the deposit for the work, but never did any work. The contract states "The Owner acknowledges that the usual commencement date for the Work (the "Work") is approximately four (4) weeks from the date of execution of this agreement, excluding weather delays, and may also commence at a later date due to seasonal high volumes and other factors outside of Dominion's control." It's been over 3 months since we signed to have the work done on our roof. The company does not return our calls. I would never do business with this company again, and I hope no one else ends up in the same situation as we did.

I would highly recommend Frank and his team. The first time…read moreI had him come out in cold rainy weather, when I had water leaking into my kitchen. I called him on recommendation from the previous home owners, and he was very prompt in getting back to me. He had a great memory for the house and current state of the roof (which he hadn't done the original work on). He was happy for me to come up onto the roof with him, and thoroughly walked me through what was going on up there. He found the source of the leak confidently and efficiently, and was very honest about all the options, ranging from a short-term to semi-permanent solution, and the pros and cons of each. I felt he genuinely wanted to do the job right, and in as affordable way as possible for me. Since he fixed that area, I've had no further issues with water leakage in that spot. He was very upfront though that I had other potential problem areas on my roof, however, and sure enough a couple months later a leak in another area developed. This time the weather was a bit better so we went ahead with some additional proactive repairs as well as the source of the current problem. Again he talked me through options, and I felt he was upfront, honest and had good integrity. I hope to not need Frank again in the near future, but I certainly would call him again if I do!

Without missing a beat, he provided me with a reasonable and competitive quote and Nick had his team start working on mine too (my roof is connected to my neighbour's). The team completed both of our roofs with high quality work and professionalism, and were extremely diligent in their clean-up. Then last week, I called Nick again to take a look at what appeared to be an issue with my roof. He actually remembered doing our job (even after 6 years!) and stopped by within 2 hours to take a look. He sent a couple of his guys with their ladder to check it out (it turned out to be a "stray" shingle that blew off of another neighbour's house, and no damage to my roof). Their estimate offered us a reasonable price on a workable timetable, and to their great credit they stuck to the terms of the estimate throughout the process, even when they would have been well within their rights to add on surcharges for work discovered after the shingles were taken up. It may be a small thing, but the most important thing to me was the willingness of W Roofing to work with me to amend the terms of the standard contract to protect the particular needs of my household. A number of other companies approached for estimates were not willing to do so, and it meant a lot that they were willing to adapt to the particular liability concerns that we expressed.
