Bring your own lunch, grab a table, and then finish strong with a snow cone. The flavor list is massive, and they've even got sugar-free options if you're trying to keep things a little more dialed in. Pro tip: get it with cream. It takes it from good to great. Extra cream if you're doing it right. Service is quick, but don't be surprised if there's a line when it's blazing outside. That just means everyone else has the same idea. Easy 10/10 kind of place. We love the snow cones from here! They only accept cash so be sure to bring some with you. Parking can get a little hectic but it's definitely worth fighting for a space. The long lines speak to the quality and deliciousness of their product. They also have a sitting area for those that want to eat there. The ladies are always nice and get the snow cones out quick! read more

If anyone have this business less than 5 stars then you are crazy. This family owned business has been a staple of the community for many years. They do a fantastic job. The ice is amazingly soft and truly shaved. The flavors they offer is some of the best! Because I live in Galveston County now I will have to go to others around me and no one can even come close nor make them like tropical chill can. I crave tropical chill all the time! I give this place four stars. One the choices are awesome. The prices are a great value. They are not sparing with the syrup. They have very nice offerings for people like me that are trying to avoid sugar. Most people pull up and there is usually a line. People wait and decide on their final selections. There are places to eat your snow cone. Most will order, pay and move on. There are many options and it does not take long to figure out the repeat customers. The service is fast and accurate. My only real wish is that they accepted credit. If you want to eat here, bring cash, you won't need a lot either. Come on a hot day and enjoy a tasty relief from the heat! read more

Truly a little hidden gem! My friends and I love getting snow cones here! I had a birthday party here and it was great! My friends had tiger's blood, raspberry lemonade, strawberry, and a spicy one. I don't remember what it was called. There is a ton of outdoor seating and it is all spaced out for multiple people and groups if you need it. Here's the oddest flavor that is my complete favorite: Marshmallow! It looks like the ice and completely baffles my friends but it is so perfect and sweet, like you're on a cloud. I took my dad here for Father's Day. My dad loved it. A few weeks later my niece wanted to go. She loved it. The ladies were so nice to her in helping make sure she got exactly what she wanted and I really appreciate that. They have mangonada and so many great additions and flavors you can get as well as cream. Very affordable and flavorful. The place is packed nearly year round. You'll see folks standing in lines around the building and you should join them as it's quite worth it. read more

I love this place. I grew up in the DP/Pasadena area and used to go here as a kid and this place is still going strong! I can't find a grape that I like better anywhere else! The consistency of the ice is perfect! And the prices are unbeatable! We bought 2 snow cones here at home, a small and large (one with cream), and paid $5.50. We went here and got 4 XL and 1 small (two with cream) and paid $10! Man I wish the prices were like this at home! read more

No crazy Instagram murals or drinks here. Tropical Chill is a very low key great sno cone place for kids and adults. Their ice is so incredibly soft and you can choose to add cream to any of your flavors which makes it more of a real ice cream consistency. You must add cream at least once. They have flavors ranging from strawberry to a more extravagant champagne. They do have corn in a cup and a few snacks. There is a boat and a few sitting areas for the kids to goof of in. I have never been a fan of snowcones. I didn't like how chunky the ice is and how quickly the syrup runs out. So when a friend suggested going here several years ago I tried to fight it but gave into the demands of giving these a try. I am so glad I did. The difference between regular snowcones and Tropical Chill's shaved is in that very definition. The ice is very fine and few chunks. This allows the flavor to attach better to the ice and enhance the whole experience. They have a wide variety of flavors and even specialty flavors such as tamarindo. You can get them with or without cream. I highly suggest the wedding cake and strawberry cheesecake flavors. And the price is unbeatable, $1.75 for a medium! Like the other Yelpers have stated, the only downside is the line can be long but they keep it moving along and the prize at the end of this rainbow is an amazing shaved ice treat. read more

Yum. Yum. Yum! One of the best snow cones known to man. Cheap, delicious, finely shaved ice, and so many favors to choose from! My standards are strawberry and wedding cake with cream or kiwi and pineapple. The only downside is the often huge line outdoors in the Houston heat. Pros: CHEAP! we got 2 large cones with cream for $5 total There's a real BOAT you can sit in while you eat your snow. Convenient location open late and long hours. There really is always a line. Cons: The ice was just meh! It was not as fine as reviews would have me believe. Crazy A's in Webster is definitely superior. The flavor was ok, but nothing to write home about. I liked BF's dreamcicle better than my pina colada. There was so much syrup in this thing I couldn't finish the last half. I understand extra syrup is a plus in many people's opinion, it was just too much for me. We both got tummy aches almost immediately! As close as this place is, if I have a craving I will drive the extra few minutes to get a killer cone elsewhere. read more

I loved Tropical Chill. Their sign clearly states open noon to 8 pm everyday including Sunday. I'm here at 6:20 pm on a Sunday and no one is here. No one answers the window and no employee vehicles. Highly disappointed and will now be forced to find a more dependable snocone place. read more

Definitely a local favorite in Deer Park, but if you aren't familiar with the area, you might not even notice it when you pass by. I sure didn't. So be sure you listen to google maps or your GPS. There isn't a huge sign or anything. I've had tropical chill before but a friend had brought it for me. This was my first time visiting the place and it was a small house on a small lot. There were straw umbrellas and picnic tables. I went up to the window looked at their menu- they offer a wide array of flavors, and you can add cream for an additional quarter. Did I mention that the prices were super cheap? A small is 1.75 with cream. I first ordered the orange dreamsicle and wild strawberry with cream. The ice was very fluffy and the flavors or the syrup really soaked the ice through. It wasn't as smooth and creamy as the shaved ice places that you can find in chinatown, but it was a good alternative (especially if you aren't willing to drive all the way to bellaire and beltway 8 for some shaved ice). read more

The prices haven't changed much at all in all these years and the flavors are still as delicious as I remembered them.
