I am not someone that's hard to please at all, and I even feel kinda bad writing this but the service I had today was pretty terrible. I understand COVID makes everything more difficult but it took 20 minutes to get my wrap (again, I don't fault them for this because it's tough right now). I did get the wrong sandwich and found out after I had gotten home. Everyone working was walking around either with their masks not worn properly or taking it off to speak which completely defeats the purpose. They were all chatting in the back for a good 15 minutes while me and another woman were waiting on our sandwiches it didn't appear that anyone even started making our sandwiches until the last 5 minutes while I was inside. This location consistently has rude and slow staff who does not seem to take food service safety rules at all. They are also always slow and the quality of the food is very inconsistent. I love tropical smoothie. Disclaimer: I've never ordered food here, I only come for the smoothies. I've tried several smoothies here and I'm always surprised with how delicious they really are. Among my favorites (off the top of my head) are Blue Lagoon, Health Nut, and Peanut Butter Cup. Yes, they're sugary, which happens to suit me. However, you can ask them to make yours without sugar. I've been to a few Trop Smoothies in my time. I enjoy the giant dose of fruit and sugar. I use their catering services in a near by town to cater work lunches. To my excitement, I received some coupons in the mail and I had recently seen an ad stating Trop Smoothie was now carrying BEYOND MEAT! I decided to try the Mt. Pleasant location for dinner one night. Here's how my experience went down: Me "Hello, I heard you now carry Beyond Meat?" Cashier "Yes." Me "Great, can I get the southwest flatbread with Beyond Meat instead of chicken please and a __ blah blah smoothie." Cashier "Don't you think it's weird eating fake chicken?" Me "No, it's weird eating a real chicken when you don't have to." (but I wanted to say so much more) I took my change and stepped aside to wait. Several minutes later I received my smoothie, then my sandwich. I asked the young lady delivering my sandwich if it was the Beyond Meat fake chicken. She said "No. I wasn't told to make it Beyond Meat." She took the sandwich back and made me the correct item, appologizing several times. When I received the correct sandwich it was cold to the point of semi frozen and incredibly disgusting. I don't think I will ever be back. This is as "fast food" as I was willing to venture and it proved to be a big fail for me and most importantly, a waste of food. read more

So...went to Tropical Smoothie yesterday to pick up an order for one of the many rideshare companies that service Mount Pleasant! I will preface this by saying that most of the restaurants in this town embrace those of us that do rideshare! At the very least, they will indulge us in the fact that we're trying to do a job, and a job that they rather need at this time of COVID-19 weirdness! Not Tropical Smoothie of Mount Pleasant!!! I had the misfortune of drawing the manager herself to wait on me! Obnoxiously rude from the very beginning! Not acknowledging my pickup request, letting people try to cut me in line, and being a curmudgeon the whole time! After ten minutes, and making me verify the order on my phone, she at least acknowledges that she had such an order! Okay...we're getting somewhere, right? WRONG!!! After watching twelve people that came in after me get their orders, and still no sign of mine (or anyone working on mine), I finally decide to wrap on the window between the dining room and prep area to find out where the hell my order is! Miss Curmudgeon decided that she is going to ask me to leave and to wait for another driver! This is after TWENTY FIVE MINUTES...maybe THIRTY! All I know is that I was beginning to grow roots into the floor, and then she's going to boot ME? Over HER ineptitude??? How do I know she is inept? Because when I asked why it was taking so long...AFTER THE TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES...she responds with; "I haven't even accepted the order into the system yet!" Are you #%&@%# kidding me right now? First of all, what the hell were you doing over the past twenty minutes? Ahhh, yes! Fulfilling a large order! THAT I understand! Leaving me standing there twiddling my thumbs as the person I'm supposed to be delivering to has to obsess over whether she is EVER going to get her order! THREE SMOOTHIES! That's all I was waiting on!!! Never once told whether it will be five minutes, thirty minutes or 76-years!!! Not once treated as a dignified person (nor was anyone else I saw there)! She spent the whole time running around (seemingly aimless) barking at people and not having enough brain power to hit the "accept" button on her incoming orders app! What kind of crap is this? I work at one of this towns other restaurants! If I was this inept, or I treated ANY customer this way, I'd be shown the door without hesitation...and I would expect it!!! I guest if Tropical Smoothie were the only game in town, they might have space for condescension and arrogance the likes of which I was shown! It isn't the only smoothie place in town! Frankly, it isn't even the best one! Not sure how Tropical Smoothie, as with any business, can run said business without customers! That's why I was taught to value every single one! They will either adapt this attitude one day, or suffer the consequences of NOT doing so! Not that I ordered from here much! I like value for money, myself, and I'm certainly not going to find it here! Every once in a while, though, I dig a smoothie just like most people! Tropical Smoothie HAD BEEN my previous go-to...until yesterday! From this point forward, it won't even be a backup plan if I was desperate! Unfortunately, for YOUR sakes, I didn't catch this managers name! Truth told, I really don't care to know! That's how much she impressed me! Another truth told...though this is MY experience, this review wasn't even written for me! I'm very content to never accept another rideshare order from here! I'm also content to never patronize the place! I wrote this review on behalf of the customer I was representing that was hosed in the whole process! I'm not sure she ever did get her order! For the love of god, if you're going to sign on to a rideshare platform, but you're not going to give even a modicum of customer service, why bother signing on? The service at this location is very slow and very bad. The workers are very unhappy and don't care about their job. i ordered 2 kids chocolate chimps and they made adult sizes and charged me for the adult prices, when i said i ordered kid sizes they did nothing about it and didn't even offer to remake or a refund. As an experienced worker at another TSC location, I was disappointed when I moved to college and tried the Mount Pleasant one. I ordered a Chia banana boost once and I'm honestly not sure what they gave me but it was overly thick, and there were no oats no chia seeds existent. I also asked for strawberry and peanut butter and all I taste is peanut butter, bananas, and powder. Looks like a peanut paradise. read more

The smoothie was average. It doesn't scream, come back. They are pricey $$ so if you are treating yourself every now & then, like getting Starbucks or Biggby, then that's where you are. I already don't like tropical smoothie but my fiancé does so I went anyway .. I didn't like my first smoothie ( which was my fault ) the young woman made me another which I really appreciated . After we left I came back in to get a few packs of Splenda sugar ( because my smoothie was no where near as sweet as my fiancé's and we got the same smoothie ) .. Right as I was walking towards the store through the glass I could see an employee in there complaining about the 2 or 3 straw wrappers we left on the table ( not intentionally ) .
