Im so happy with this Tropical Smoothie. Its like 5 minutes away and I am a regular. The best thing is that they also offer vegan options too. Typically, I will order on the app so I can use their rewards, and its so much faster than ordering and waiting on a line. The location is doing a great job with social distancing. they have the barriers up to block germs being sprayed over the counter and require evreyone to wear a mask. I really like that they offer any of their sandwich's in a plant based version. It is the one place that still allows me to enjoy one of my favorite things.... a quesadilla (with plant based meat) it is a southwest quesadilla and it is so freaking good. I advise anyone vegan or not to try one. It wont disappoint! they are delicious. I haven't been into a tropical smoothie in about four years and I came on the absolute worst day of the year.. it was national flip flop day where you get one of their free smoothies by wearing flip flops. I probably should have figured that out when there was a long line out the door but I figured that it was because it was a really hot day. This location is relatively small and is on the corner of Broad and Parham. The employee working the register was friendly and my smoothie came out fast. I got the sunrise sunset which was pretty tasty. The only thing I don't like is that they only have one size cup: extra large. Sometimes it's just too much! But for the price of $5 and some change, it's not bad. The place itself was clean and is on par with an average tropical smoothie location. First off, I walked (wasn't greeted) and two employees were at the register talking. I waited while they chatted for almost 2 minutes before I raise my voice and hello. Then I got their attention and they walked off. I had to wait an additional 30 seconds for Server Aaron to come and ask me what my order was. After he fumbled around with the register, he finally took my order and i paid. Then when my veggie bowl came it was withered lettuce sprinkled with rice beans, a spoonful of guacamole, and dried out hummus. The watermelon smoothie was ok if it wasnt so sweet an i could actually taste the mint in it. Afterward, the vibe was just all wrong. When what I asked for wasn't in the smoothie, he charged me for the add in; & then told me he was just gonna take the wrong smoothie back, add in the scoop of what I wanted, & give it back. This location is my favorite spot for a smoothie. The food is decent but the paradise point smoothie keeps me coming back. The iPhone app which allows me to earn $5 off after spending $55 is awesome as I can pay cash and still earn. I love Tropical Smoothie Cafe! It's one of those places that I get super jazzed about when I see one and stop in to get a smoothie even if it's not what I originally planned. Refreshing pit stop! They were very kind though they did kind of laugh --not in an insulying way-- at all that I added to my açai berry boost --including flax seed, probiotic, vitamin C....uh....I'm missing some things...oh yeah, extra açai, & the super pack that adds fresh kale & spinach. Sounds comical, but I do try to take my fruits & veggies however I can get them....the more tasty & scrumptious, the better. With all the stress, I've been undergoing lately, this is a great way to end a fairly decent day though I've been very much under-the-weather. During my visit at this location a strange looking man walked to the back without uniform, shoes, and etc. I asked one of the employees there (Rome) he then proceeded to tell me that is the manager, after I explain to him no employee or manager should be able to walk into the back when they're off the clock. The smoothies are hit or miss at the location. Sometimes, the smoothies are very sweet and other times they are watered down. I guess it depends on the employee making your smoothie. The smoothies only comes in one size (large).You can get a smaller size for little kids. The serve is fast and the employees are friendly. There is plenty of parking outside of the restaurant.
