Kind of hard to tell if this restaurant is still open. Sign is no longer Truc Anh. Hours are definitely not accurate

Got combo #3 Togo. 2lbs crawfish and 1lb shrimp (head on) with corn and sausage. I went online and it said it was $69! And some reason I decided to call the restaurant just to confirm and they said it's $54. This is why we shouldn't DoorDash unless you're hungover after and can't even make it two steps out of bed Oh my goodness Gladys the seafood was so so so fresh. The crawfish was the size of my palm for most of them. The sauce was an equally delightful balance of salty, sweet, buttery, spicey, and I have never been to any spot yet that loaded it with as much garlic as truc anh did. I definitely want to try other items on their menu now and/or get their Viet Cajun boils again. Did not disappoint.

Knowing that boiling crab and kickin crab was super crowded, I had to find an alternative place to get some seafood boil to satisfy the cravings. Stumble upon this place while browsing through Yelp and decided to try this place out. This place is located down Senter road and they open up late! In terms of service, our waiter didn't check on us throughout our meal but we were able to get their attention with a little bit of effort. You could tell this is family owned restaurant because you can tell the owners and their friends were being really loud when we were the only table remaining that night. Our server seemed to be more occupied with them What we ordered: Garlic noodles (3/5): we felt like the portion for this was pretty small and wasn't enough for 2 people. There wasn't any unique about the noodles and felt it was a bit bland and didn't taste the garlic that much. What really helps is adding the sauce from the boil onto the noodles as it gives it more flavor. Seafood combo (4/5): we ordered 2lbs of clams and 1lb of crawfish which came with corn and sausages. The sauce we got was Cajun garlic house which we thought was delicious but very oily. We prefer more of a thicker sauce but the flavor was on point! We also love that they put a ton of garlic in the sauce. It was cool how they didn't just put it in a bag like other boil places do and they give you bowls for the seafood and trash. Overall, this isn't a bad place if you want some seafood boil with no wait at night! Me and my girlfriend's seafood boil craving have been satisfied here!

Great flavors and seafood is very fresh. Open late as well. The restaurant is very small and they also serve beer. Oysters were always good every time but this time was kinda dry. Clams sauce was very good. Service was very prompt and I like the fact that they give us gloves so our hands don't get dirty. If you are ever craving uniques flavors i highly recommend.

Ordered Combo 2 for take out. Smells great and tasted just as good. However, I have major disappointment in the amount of sauce that sits in the bag. You can visibly tell there was any sauce in the bag when pulling the plastic bag out of the paper bag. The seafood itself was expectedly dry. It smelled great and tasted pretty good. Needed that oomph factor which could have been salvaged by just having more sauce.

Fresh crawfish and clams. So good

We ordered combo 3 with lemon pepper sauce. Crawfish and clams are fresh. So good. Will comeback for their crawfish and try other dishes in the menu.

Crawfish with house special sauce and sausages

So happy they reopen!. One of the best Asian tastes of crawfish i ever tried. They have clams and shrimps too, all fresh. I like their mien xao cua and grilled oysters a lot. Everything is just right amount. They changed the decor inside with different colors. Pretty fast in services. Highly recommend their crawfish.

crawfish here is big and fresh. the sauce tastes good too. really recommended. we'll come back.

    Grilled oysters

I love their grilled oysters so muchhh! We tried their crawfish before, great tastes. We'll come again.

I was ordered a combo 1 with medium sauce. I was suprised with the fried rice. I aslo ordered grilled oyster and it is so fresh. You have to try it.

    Fantastic oysters

Everything was good, from the service to the food, the ambiance is nice, also the waiters were friendly. Should try should try.

Well, I drove all the way from Hayward and can't eat here.

I'm kinda bummed, I heard so many good things about this place. I finally have the chance to go and this is what I come to. No sign on the door or anything.

    Combo #3 (2lb crawfish, 1lb shrimp, 2 corn, 2 sausages)
    Sharon T.

FOOD: - Combo #3 with house special garlic butter sauce in spicy: Sauce was good and the spicy level was nice. The shrimps were also big while the crawfish varied in sizes. However, it did not feel like 3 lbs. My friend and I usually eat 1lb each and feel quite full, but we were still hungry after finishing the 3lbs PLUS sides. Another down side is the bowl. While it's cleaner to use, the sauce couldn't soak everything, so there wasn't much flavor or spiciness until we reached the very bottom. 3/5. - Garlic Noodles: The noodles were very bland as if there was no other seasoning besides the garlic. 1.5/5. - French Fries: It was decent while it was hot, but after a few minutes it started to taste stale while the bottom was looking and tasting quite old. Also, we thought it was normal fries, but turns out all the seasoning was at the bottom. 2/5. SERVICE: Service was okay. The waitress gave us the menu and quickly asked what we wanted to drink and if we were ready to order. We told her water and that we needed more time to look. She came back within a minute with the water and asked what we wanted to order. We barely had time to look at the menu lol. Besides giving us our food, they never came by our table again. We also had to walk to the front to pay. There was also a time where one of the workers came in stomping and dragging her feet, so that was interesting...

The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

For instance, even though the menu stated that it offered happy hour on the weekend, the waiter, said no, there's definitely no happy hour today and we were there at 3pm. (Online it shows that happy hour is indeed offered on the weekdays and weekends, I should mention.) I feel like he should've at least walked over and confirmed with his manager because the manager was there onsite. There was also no price listed for the Pacific Caesar salad. So the server finally got back to me with the price. My friend said that she had just gotten it with chicken. The server said that adding chicken or salmon would be $8 for either one. However, also incorrect! Online it shows that chicken is only $6. (hello, fish is always more expensive, especially salmon.) I didn't trust what he said, so I decided to skip that dish. My friend had said it was really good too. Oh well. I also didn't appreciate how when I went to pay the 22% was also marked as a default tip, so I would assume he ticked that. This is the first time that I've had service that has been subpar. Almost every other time the servers have been outstanding. I felt like the waiter should've double checked a few things have not been lazy about it. A few months ago, my friend and I also went and they had a different menu. It was three for $16 or something. He also said he didn't have that today either. And he claimed there was no such menu. So maybe they got rid of it. However, it is still listed online? My friend had got the tacos before and she loved those so I'm posting that picture here as well but this was the prior visit in the spring.

One reason is that I don't live in the San Jose area anymore, and another is that there are now so many seafood boil spots around since Boiling Crab really started the trend. One positive right away: there was no long wait. We arrived around 8pm and were seated immediately, which was great. I remember the days when we'd have to put our name down and walk around Target while waiting for our table. I do wish they offered combo bags like a lot of other seafood boil places do now, since that's always a hit. Instead, we ordered 3 pounds of shrimp with whole-sha-bang sauce in mild. The shrimp themselves were great--nice and big, not the tiny peanut-sized ones you sometimes get. The flavor was also really good. However, the "mild" tasted much spicier than I remembered. From past visits, mild always had a small kick but was still pretty manageable. This honestly tasted closer to medium. My boyfriend politely asked one of the servers if he could get a small side of garlic butter because the sauce was spicier than expected. She immediately responded that it would be $5 for extra sauce, and the way it was said came off pretty rude. We understand that there's an option to make the bag "extra saucy" for an additional charge, but he wasn't asking for extra sauce for the whole bag--just a small side to balance out the spice. Even a simple response like "I'm sorry it came out spicier than expected" would have gone a long way. I've worked in customer service for over 15 years, and I've always believed in "kill them with kindness." We weren't rude at all--we just mentioned that it seemed spicier than mild. In the end, we decided to just skip the extra sauce. Again, the flavor was still good, but to me this definitely tasted more like medium. When we got our check, a different server asked how everything was. My boyfriend mentioned that the sauce was spicier than mild, and she responded with, "Oh no, I'm sorry it wasn't exactly what you wanted." We told her it wasn't her fault since we had already mentioned it earlier, and she just gave us a sympathetic look. Overall, the food itself was good, and I'd probably give it a 4 for taste, but the lack of customer service knocked the experience down for me. I understand it was later in the evening and they still had a full lobby, but a little kindness and attentiveness would have made a big difference.
