However, as many others have said, you just can't be too careful or get too comfortable in today's economic climate. I would much rather be prepared for the worst, and hope for the best. When Yelp offered a free 15 minute session with Timothy, I wanted to give it a try. I've helped others with their resumes in past years, but looking at my own is always so much harder. It really needed a brush-up. Tim's advice was wonderful, clear, and so easy to follow. He provided me with templates that would be more attractive to any potential readers. Over the next few weeks, I plan on using one of the templates to pop my own information in, and have it at the ready "just in case."

Be careful about their billing practices First, I want to…read moreacknowledge that ahead of the first session I read AND agreed to all of Naya's policies as laid out in 10+ pages of dense text.  The one part that gave me pause was their sliding scale.  Typically these are used to ensure that anyone can access treatment, even if they're not able to afford the full price.  In Naya's case, it appears to be a commitment device ensuring people pay enough for it to be meaningful to them (which at the top rate is $600/hour).  In the first 5 minutes of my session I asked about this, and after 10 minutes decided collaboratively with the therapist/coach that I wasn't going to pay that rate, and we ended the session.  I was then charged $170 for those 10 minutes, as it was treated as a cancelled session.  I asked for a refund for at least a substantial part of the fee and was told that since I clicked 'I agree' on all of the policies they presented, that they weren't willing to refund anything.  To be clear the therapist/coach I talked to for those 10 minutes was very nice and friendly, ultimately the policies are those of Sam Nabil and the therapist didn't have say in the matter.  They may be very helpful for those that end up working with them (I can't comment on that since I wasn't comfortable with their sliding scale/pricing), but just wanted to warn you to be careful to ask any questions you have well in advance so you don't find yourself in the same situation I did.

Front desk person asked me to fill out an application and led me to Jen after. Jen was telling me that she has been working at John Leonard for almost 30 years holy moly! She was very professional, knew what she was doing, and sounded like she has a great relationship with their clients (employers). Asked me couple questions about my skills and experience, what I want to do in a long run. After the interview, she explained some of the jobs they have in the system and asked me if any of those spark my interest. Really liked this short term assignment in Cambridge, was places there a week after that interview! Went through many assignments with various employers through John Leonard so far, was a great experience to work with all those employers. John Leonard seems to have a good clientele of employers that would treat you well as long as you do your job! Coming out of that leave, ready to get back to the working world, I was looking at a resume that really hadn't been updated for... a while. My resume needed an overhaul, as did my confidence.
