The report cards they give are a great way to know how your dog is doing there and if training in an area is addressed. All I know is that my dog is a much better behaved dog since he starting attending day care there. We did the beginning obedience class and an agility class, and both instructors were really great and knowledgeable. The owner of the CLC has truly found her calling and a wonderful support staff.

I should have asked for my money back. She often rushed through things. She didn't have an awareness of how to teach human adults, by saying something , show something, say it again in a different way, show it again slowly. She said it once, showed it quickly then expected us to do it. She would show something, then have us go do it while she talked with her friends she brought in. She didn't pay attention to her students. She only offered help when I was struggling if I asked for her help, she didn't notice when people were struggling. She was stern and not approachable. She said she had lots of experience training. Perhaps that was true but she needs to work on people skills to be a group dog trainer. This intro class was designed to rush us through a program of a bunch of different things every time so that maybe we felt we learned a lot and got our moneys worth, rather than make sure we had important things down really well. The instructor said that after we finished the class we could come in for open play. I called and left a message about this twice but no one called me back. The place was freezing cold in the winter and smelly. I've heard other people like this place, but I won't go back. I also read the review about a woman abusing a dog here and people being rude. Big fat NO.

He jumped, ran circles around them, became extremely hyper, and barked aggressively (even at people that live in the house with us). In addition to that, he was a little skittish in general and is still very nervous around other dogs. Lisa came to my home and the training began immediately. She was only there for an hour, but Lisa is so intuitive to dogs' individual personalities that the insight she provided gave me the tools I needed to correct the behaviors. There are a lot of opinions and dog trainers out there; using other methods, training took me weeks, and months to even see a slight change in the behaviors I was trying to correct. It has only been a few days since Lisa came for training, but his behavior and demeanor has drastically improved, and he is actually responding to what I teaching him! I am looking forward to continuing my training with Lisa in her Behavior 101 class to improve his approach to other dogs, and my ability to be an effective and responsible dog owner. Lisa has given me the confidence and the tools to be the best dog owner I can be. She is the ONLY dog trainer I would recommend, and the only one I will use in the future. Thanks, Lisa!

As usual Lisa was amazing. On the way home after the second session, my partner turned to me and said he'd learned more in five minutes with Lisa than he'd learned in all the regular puppy classes we'd attended locally. I couldn't agree more. Thank you Lisa.

At the end of January my boyfriend and I decided to adopt a 9 month old golden retriever mix from our local shelter. After bringing him home, we decided we wanted to find a trainer to help us teach him much more then just sit and stay because we want him to be able to come with us all over. We looked around Loveland and Fort Collins for trainers, and eventually decided that having an in-home trainer would be the best route for us, and that's what led us to Carol. From the very first lesson our dog has shown amazing improvement, and she is always helpful and eager to provide any tips or information she can. We went from having a crazy hyper puppy, who barked and jumped up constantly, to a calm, well mannered, sweet boy who listens to us and respects us. I look forward to every lesson because I know my dog and I are going to learn so much. If you are looking for a trainer I would HIGHLY recommend her and the Bark Busters method, it's worth every penny and more.

I wish I could go back and choose differently…read more We enrolled our rescue dog in the board and train program in 2024. He came from the shelter with clear signs of separation anxiety, hypervigilance, and what looked like the emotional scars of past abuse. We truly wanted to help him adjust and feel safe, so we trusted this program to set him on the right path. But looking back, I regret it. My first red flag came during a visit when I noticed a bite wound on his foreleg. I was told he'd been placed in a pen with one of the trainer's personal dogs--who attacked him. My dog had always been social and dog-friendly, so this felt like an avoidable situation. She was treating the wound, but I left feeling uneasy. Then came the Fourth of July. I got a message saying we could pick him up early--a full week early--because she was heading out of town. She said someone would be there to feed him, but he wouldn't be training anymore. That alone was disappointing, but we figured if he was "ready," we'd make the most of it. When we picked him up, he was only responding to commands about 75% of the time. I assumed he was just overstimulated from seeing us again. But over the next few days, things got worse. Despite carefully following the training notes we were given, our dog regressed significantly. He became more anxious, more reactive, and less responsive than before the program. Now, over a year later, he still reliably responds only to "sit"--which I taught him. "Lay down" works about half the time. Every other command? Gone. Later, when I shared my experience with others in the community, I learned I wasn't alone. Two separate people knew exactly which dog had bitten mine before I even said the name. One had a similar experience with that same dog; the other knew someone who had. That told me everything I needed to know. We paid $2,500, and in the end, my dog came home more anxious and less trusting of other dogs. I wish I could say otherwise, but I wouldn't recommend this program. On paper, it looks great. In practice, the local community seems to know better. I only wish I'd asked around before enrolling. Please do your research, and trust your gut.
