Tech cancelled first appointment citing not being able to access yard, security cameras show no such thing happened.

Really unhappy with the service from trugreen. We had a representative come out to give us a quote, he did end up calling the sales manager to ensure they could service our yard. He confirmed they could. They took our payment , set up our account, and then we were scheduled for our first service. When they came out for our first service, the tech said they could not service our yard due to access issues. They made a note on the account, later that day the exact same sales manager called me and said they made a mistake and that they would not be able to provide service to our house. They did refund us the money but I am very unhappy with how they handled the situation. read more

I had asked to receive service in the morning since the technicians lie and clock out early. But that didn't happen either. This has to be one of the worst companies I've ever used. They subcontract with a local firm, and you can't reach them. I've gotten the runaround for five days after speaking with numerous people who make all sorts of promises. They don't deliver. I fired them yesterday and today they called asking me why. I told them all of that should be in their records. They make things up as they go along. They don't know what services they provide where. You're dealing with some call center of representatives spread out all over the place and none of them talk to each other. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. They could not have been worse. I hired a local firm who has been immediately responsive, has great reviews, and knows the local market. trugreen is terrible. Customer service is nonexistent. If it's not on their computer, the robots who answer the phones are clueless. It's been days and the manager never called me despite representations to the contrary. I was told one thing by the technician who came here and was then lectured by another phone rep that he wasn't supposed to be telling me that because that's not his job. How is that on me? Not sure who runs the place but LORT! Come on! Random "a tech will be at your house in 5 mins"... then the we can't get in, followed by the we can't wait 10 mins... they sure do COLLECT quick. They dont check weather and they don't offer a rain check. Better to go LOCAL and have a HUMAN BEING text you the night before and work out the details! I made a mistake with this company. I won't do it again. My lawn looks 10x worse that when I started. The pictures show the decline on my lawn. I chose not to take pictures of the front because it's just more of the same. Save yourself some money, do it yourself or get someone with good references. It seems every time they come over my lawn gets worse. Lesson learned. UPDATE: their tech came over. He said it was grubs but he didn't have anymore product. Said he'd put the request in so they'd send somebody out. Several days later, I called them to find out what was going on. They said they'd send someone over. The guy apparently came by and left a note saying I didn't have grubs and "water it more." I called them back and asked how one tech said one thing, and another tech said another. The individual said he'd have the manager call me. I received a call today from the manager (6 days later). He claimed he had just received the message today. Okay. I explained what was going on and specifically told him that I was not happy with their service. He stated that it had been very hot. I responded with the fact that it west Texas. It always hot. He was kind enough to give me yesterday's temp, and told me to water more. I stopped listening. They state they understand the local climate and their products are suited for local climates. Long story short, and I'll provide this info for free. Water for at least 70 minutes and reseed barr spots. Purchase fertilizer at Lowe's or Home Depot. This is what I was doing before when my yard looked great, and I only paid for supplies. Called them on Wed Mar 26 via their website telephone number. Spoke with a rep to request core lawn aeration service. Rep took my info and advised if I pay beforehand would save about $15. Went ahead and paid with credit card (thank goodness). Promised an email and text confirmation within 24 hours. Got call from Trugreen rep Thur morning March Mar 27 for lawn service. Advised rep I had already called in and scheduled aeration and paid for it. Trugreen rep sounded confused as she could not find info on it or no record of me paying it. Reported she would be contacting other staff and call me back in 20 min. Still waiting 3 hours later. Checked my credit card and found pending charge from Trugreen. Since Trugreen rep couldn't find my info notified credit card company to dispute charge. I used Trugreen up until six years ago and stopped due to their numerous foul ups on my lawn service. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had a horrible experience with TruGreen. I saw no improvement in my lawn. So I requested to discuss the issue and see what other steps could be taken to improve the lawn. I was told the tech was coming out today and that he would stop in and discuss my options. Not only did he not stop in to speak to me, he lied about it. On my receipt it says "I knocked on your door, I'm sorry I missed you...", but that is a flat out lie. I work from home and my office is 3 feet from the front door. I would have heard a knock. I called TruGreen about it and they didn't want to do anything. I could deal with less than desirable results if the company is honest and doesn't lie to me and could offer some sort of plan to fix it. But one thing I will not tolerate is being lied to. I asked for a supervisor to contact me, and the next day someone called but it sounded like another tech support person from another country, I could not even understand what she was saying. I'm not surprised at the number of low reviews for this company. My bad experience with Trugreen is not isolated. I installed st augustine grass in my backyard at great expense. The first year it looked great so I decided to hire Trugreen to manage my lawn from that point on. Well, it slowly started to die. I asked the techs what was going on, they told me it needed more fertilizer and aeration. So I had that done, and it showed no improvement. Finally, I received a call from the manager because I cancelled any further lawn services. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, saying it was too hot for this grass. He was shamed into checking out my grass in person only to say when he arrived that it wasn't receiving enough sunlight. I found out that Trugreen used a weed control chemical that is harmful to st. augustine grass, but their techs know nothing about that. We called them out to spray my mother-in-law's house as the weeds were tall, just unsightly. They came out, and did a very thorough job. We now have them come out to the house monthly. Let me tell you, the weeds are GONE! I recommend TruGreen without reservation or hesitation. The customer service is great as well. read more

This company has poor communication with their customers and within their own office. There are two divisions of this company and the right hand does not know what the left is doing. I have 7 phone numbers that I have called over the last hour to try to pay my sister's final bill. I have yet to speak to an actual human. Now I have to wait for an hour for someone to hopefully call me back. During the call I put the phone number of the account in many only to be told to enter it again and again. I wish I could give them less, but they get one star, a participation star I suppose. It has been a very disappointing year. I needed a lot of services for my yard, so I got a package with deep fertilization, lawn treatments and desert landscape clearing. I have more weeds in my lawn now than when I started with them, the gentleman that came to do the desert treatment to keep the zeroscape clean sprayed it too close to newly planted bushes, killing them in one day, and he sprayed it up onto the light colored stucco walls of my house and courtyard. That stuff is a terrible green, and it had not fully cleared off from the last time they sprayed the walls. I thought I was getting a good bundle, but all I got was a bundle of problems that I will have to fix now. Couple that with the headaches they've provided for the last year, and I'm cured from ever having them at my house again. I wish I'd have checked out Yelp for them first. They are unresponsive, and when I cancelled my service, a national rep called to ask what the problem was. I'd already relayed the issues to the local rep, repeatedly. They do not care. Technicians do not care about your lawn. They really don't care if the weed killer covers your lawn, just so long as it looks like they are applying it. They do not use a contract, but entice you into paying up front for a discount and then sticking it to you on the back end when you get no notice that the prepaid portion has expired. Wish I could give them a zero! This service works well but they don't show when they say. I've been skipped in multiple occasions you have to stay in them. The App is worthless and the phone system is no better. I would rather talk direct to the local business. I will say the treatments are effective but the service is horrible for the cost of the service. Find a local service. They said they would do a thorough analysis but not the case. I have to say I'm really disappointed with their recent services. My lawn was green and bushy abe full until this last application. The guy was here than less a min and burned the heck out if my lawn. I have pictures and I'm devastated after all the money I have shelled out with this company. I called to complain and no compensation was offered. They just offered to go look at their mistake and try to fix it. I'm in the process of selling my home. To Whom it May Concern: My name is Vickie Salyer and I live in El Paso, TX. I hired TruGreen El Paso, 1330 Northwestern Dr. El Paso, TX 79912. The gentleman I spoke to explained that I would get better service and a discount if I bought a year service prepaid plan. I explained to the gentleman that I am suffering with advanced Multiple Sclerosis and have problems getting around. That they could not service the yard before 9 am and I needed extra time to get to the door if they needed to talk with me. Also, they would have to use the pool gate to get in the back yard and gave the gentleman the code to the gate. He agreed to my terms, and I bought a prepaid plan for complete yard care for a year. After buying this complete yard service that includes: TruHealth Lawn Plan, Tree & Shrub Service, Mosquito Defense plan that cost me almost $1500.00. They came on April 15th to do the first service. Since then, only the Mosquito Service has been done in the front yard on 5/18/21. I have tried multiple times and multiple ways of getting a hold of the local service and the national service. First anyone that lives in El Paso knows Mosquito season does not start until June at the earliest. Spraying in April and May is a waste of chemicals. I postponed the service on the TruGreen app, but they came anyway. Now, I do not have enough services to get me through actual mosquito season. My major complaint comes with the Lawn and Tree Services. They have not come back even though I was assured if I went through the TruGreen app that they would come back and take care of my issues at no charge. I have posted on the app multiple times; I have called the local number and national number multiple times staying on hold up to an hour each time with no answer or call back from anyone. I went through the virtual chat and asked for someone to call me, no call back. Finally, I decided to call through new services. I got someone almost immediately. I explained the problem and they placed me on hold for 45 minutes and someone came on the line. I explained the situation to her and asked for service on my yard. I got a schedule on June 4th for the Lawn Plan. The technician showed up at 7:50 am, rang the doorbell once got back in his truck and left. He did not even give me time to get to the door. He posted on the app that he could not even get in the back yard. The technician did not even go near the pool gate to see if it was unlocked, he just left. I have proof of this because my Ring Video Security tracked his movements. I called TruGreen (through new services) explained the situation and got put on hold for over an hour. When someone from services got on the line, I had to reexplain the situation and she told me that I would have to wait another month for service. I told them if they weren't out here by end of the day, I wanted a refund of my money. She wouldn't even contact the local office. My next step will be to go to the local office if no one shows up. I should of never of trusted TruGreen and paid for them in advance. But I thought a national company could be trusted. This is a warning to everyone that this company just wants your money, has terrible customer service, and will not help you even if you are disabled. So, after two no shows, I called and canceled lawn service. TruGreen Rep shows up.and says he could not get in the back yard Tuesday, which was the canceled appointment after the non. Show on friday, and was there today Thursday, to do the service. Was told no thanks, we already found another company. Rep was upset. WARNING: You may want to lock all entrances to you property after ending business with this company. They don't seem to understand when someone doesn't want their services. I had to call the company, again, and tell them no contact, no phone calls, no emails, and if they set foot on my property I will call PD and press tresspassing charges against them. I honestly do not think they rate 1 star. My tech was usually Samuel here in the NE part of El Paso. The first treatment was decent as SOME weeds died. But after about 3 weeks, they came right back along with new weeds. Every treatment after that was a failure as none of the weeds sprayed, died. This last treatment about a week ago, I videoed the tech in my back yard to see if he was actually spraying the weeds. I have an area beside the gazebo that had some lush green weeds that looked like a patch of mustard greens. I watched on the video as the tech, using a hose attached to his truck, sprayed that area. It has been a week and the patch of weeds has gotten bigger. For 55.00 per treatment, I would expect some quality service. I would recommend people to just go to Lowe's or Home Depot, spend about 60.00 on a few gallons of weed killer/prevention, and have 3+ months of no weeds, than to pay 55.00 every 4 - 6 weeks and have a jungle still growing. We had milk weed growing in backyard. We were tired of pulling them out plus mosquitoes. We had Trugreen come out for treatment. Representative came out and set us up to take care of our problem. He even commented how beautiful and green our grass and Ivy were. A couple of weeks later our grass has dead spots and ivy has lots of dead leaves. I have no complaint about their products, but I do have a problem with the service. Over the past year I have had to reschedule services at least five times. I will admit that current events may have played a little part at the beginning of the year. But they work outdoors, so that only goes so far. My wife and I both work long days. We have dogs, so we have to be home when they get there. We have to get out of work to be home when they arrive. The problem is they DON'T arrive. We even asked the folks at the 1-800 number to note that we would like them to call when they were at the stop before ours so we could make sure we were home. They have called when they were on their way. They even have called when they were there which made us have to scramble to get home. Sometimes they waited. Sometimes they didn't. I even passed them on my street once as they were leaving. They told me they could not stay because of their next appointment. Once we had a surprise visit on a Saturday. I told the guy I thought they didn't work on Saturdays since we could never get a Saturday appointment. He said he was behind in work so he was working that day. Good thing we were home. This week we were scheduled for a service so my wife planned to be home all afternoon ( we called the 1-800 number to make sure they were scheduled for the afternoon). Well, they called me in the morning to let me know we would have to reschedule since they came in the morning. The folks at the 1-800 number set me up for a call back 2 1/2 hours later. They never called me back. There is no local number. Consider that if you sign up. In their defense, our front yard landscaping has looked good all year. it is rock, so they just drop by and spray once every couple of months. No need for us to be home. I pre-paid for a whole year. Canceled my service after almost 20 years, this company has really went down hill, i have had to constanstly show every tech (there have been many) where the problem areas of my yard are they claim to be lawn care professionals but all there trained to do is come and treat lawn as quickly as possible and leave bill and go to next stop as fast as they can, dont consult with customer about problem areas and how to improve them unless you are outside waiting on them to finish before they leave, my yard looks worse than it ever has, called several times and Local mgr Rob finally called back only to stand me up on appointment to come out and see problems never called i took the day off to meet him, so i call back a couple of days later and he finally calls back a week later very poor customer service, also tech never showed for appointment but when i called back they said he had been there and treated my lawn this was a lie,would not reccomend this company atleast not in my area (horizon city tx) read more
