Inconsistent. Poor communication. Only services half my lawn. Very disappointing. I called and cancelled after about 3 months.

Horrible company. Tech comes for about 5 minutes. Doesn't do anything he said he will do. Then puts on report that he did all these things he didn't do. Each tech blames the previous tech for not doing their job. I have had 4 so called treatments this year and no weed control or fertilizer has made it on my yard even they said it did. Avoid this company like the plague!! read more

We have been avid gardeners and enjoy taking care of our yard, including mowing and fertilizing our lawn. After a losing battle with perfecting our Zoysia lawn we reached out to TruGreen for professional help. Initially, they appeared professional and detailed a lawn treatment plan. The first service call the technician introduced himself and asked us if we had any specific concerns, a pre-emergent was applied and some specific weed treatment in one area. The next treatment was applying Lime to adjust ground pH, no fertilizer or weed treatment even though it was now "growing season" and areas in the lawn had visible weeds. The technician was here and gone in less than 10 minutes without notifying us of his presence. A telephone call to the TruGreen office regarding the out of control weeds initiated a "re-treatment". Shortly, thereafter two areas in the lawn developed dead patches indicative of grubs. Another telephone call to TruGreen with pictures of the dying areas confirmed grubs. A promise to come treat the lawn at "no charge" was made. Five weeks later, multiple phone calls, a myriad of excuses and still no treatment. Today we cancelled our service agreement with TruGreen. Not only did they fail to properly assess the lawn's condition and devise an adequate treatment plan, they failed to fulfill their promise of customer care and satisfaction. It has been a waste of time and money dealing with TruGreen and we cannot recommend doing business with them. read more

It's one of those, that if I could give negative stars I would. Had TruGreen service since 2005 for a new house with new turf. The last 5 years or so, I have seen TruGreen's quality go way down. I have spent a lot of time on the phone telling them about it because they call a lot. And talk a lot. Now it's time to show you the pictures and give you this year's details. First, for perspective, all bordering neighbors' yards are in better shape than they have been in years. Most recently, Raul came out on 5/10/2022 and agreed my yard is a weed pit. They sent him with an tiny sprayer for my whole yard. I told him I need a whole yard treatment. He said he'd have to talk to his manager. His manager stopped the whole thing, and I didn't even get that. Before this, on May 2, 2022, two employees showed up before 8 am. They did not knock or otherwise announce themselves. I received texts notices they were here at 7:59 am and at 8:02 am that my "free service" was completed. See pictures. May 2 was a rainy day. Had stormed all night and early morning and stormed even more after whatever they did. All the spray was washed away down the hill. Let's talk about my "free service." First, I paid for fall pre-emergent last year. You can see in the pictures where they treated and didn't treat. At best, 50% of my yard was treated. On April 5, 2022, they sprayed for spring. Nothing died. Kept growing taller. My yard guy who has had a landscaping business for 40+ years commented that it looked like they didn't get out of the truck!! I'm about done trying to get TruGreen to do it's job. Please talk to your neighbors with the best yards and ask who they use before picking a lawn service. And don't pick TruGreen!! I wish i could post pictures of the way my lawn looks. TruGreen has been coming through all spring and summer to spray and nothing happens other than them charging me and my yard looking like trash. Huge gaping holes where grass doesn't grow. It's a pathetic situation at best. read more

Isaiah came by my house today. We live in North Little Rock area and we were actually thinking about canceling our service, but the guy named Isaiah came by did an inspection on our yard told us the areas where we were struggling and showed us why we still need true green help to get our lawn Back together and he was great. He is the only reason that we did not cancel our service and we just wanted everyone to know that if you are with Trugreen and you use Isaiah, he is located in the Little Rock office. They charge me for a year instead of a month on 3/22/24 with 658.63. I called then back that day. I received a confirmation email saying I would receive my refund in 3-5 business days. I never got my refund. I called them back on Monday 4/1/24 because the days were over. They said that it is pending, but everything is on schedule. The person was very short with me as if I was the problem. I called back on 4/3/24, and now they tell me the refund was in the system incorrectly, and It will be an additional 3-5 days. Why did you not tell me that when I call on Monday instead of having an attitude? GIVE ME MY MONEY!! I ask to speak to a supervisor, and they said I can't. I asked for the supervisors name and they refused. I asked for a number to file a complain and nothing. I still do not have my money or even a way to complain. On 08/06/2021 I was scheduled for a lime service. I saw the truck hidden in the trees at the end of my driveway, 400 feet away from my yard. I watched the truck for 15 minutes and then received a text that my service had been completed. This person never got out of his truck! My credit card was pinged within an hour! I have no less than four calls and have yet to get a call back from anyone. This is fraudulent and I cant help but wonder how often this happens! read more

This is nothing more than a telemarketing service! We agreed to their price and received the first treatment. Our weeds were far worse than before. We called every number we had for them and left multiple messages, none of which were ever returned. My husband finally resorted to mailing an actual letter to them advising we did NOT want them to return. Found out in speaking with friends that what we received was the norm for them! My lawn looks horrible after a season of treatment. It is literally full of weeds, brown spots, and bare spots. My back yard is half weeds, half bare areas. I have experienced most of the same problems other reviewers have posted on here. I have had problems with them not showing up for appointments, several problems with billing, and not aerating half my lawn. I'm disgusted by the lack of expertise that is so prevalent from a company that went door to door to get customers. My neighbor's lawn looks immaculate and they use Fairway Lawns. The side of my lawn that touches their lawn looks great because some the Fairway treatment blended on my side. I would consider using another company and stay completely away from TruGreen. I expected more, but unfortunately TruGreen's only expertise is selling a service that is absent of customer satisfaction. read more

Hired them for my lawn, and I showed them where I wasn't getting any more growth. End of the season it was worse than before. They didn't do anything about their guarantee, nor mention it. So I let them go. Kept the sprinkler service because it was actually good. Got 6 phone calls about lawn service is 5 business days from them this year. Told them to leave me alone about it, or I'd fire them from the last service, and I was promised I was off the list to be contacted about anything but the sprinklers. 21st of march they came out and got my system ready, but I have one broken sprinkler head. He didn't have the replacement with him, so he set up to come back out. Here it is April 5th, and when I checked there was nothing in the system about a repair at all. You need to know that we have discontinued our service with TruGreen; we really wanted this to work out but their employees are the WORST! Today was the last straw! We received a call yesterday confirming our service for today and at 7:15 this morning, our doorbell rang. The tech was unclear as to why he was there. He said there was a service call made but he didn't know what it was for. He woke up everyone in our house when he rang the doorbell. My husband told him that it was for servicing. Ten minutes later, he hung a tag on our door. Is it even possible to finish a 1-acre yard in 10 minutes?? (We have the Ring Doorbell so there is a time stamp) Then, my husband called to disconnect our service and he tried telling the girl WHY we were leaving TruGreen and she was just like "mmm hmm..." "okay," etc... she didn't give a care in the world. My husband even said that she should notate the account and let management know that there were major problems with the communication and service techs and she just replied "okay." The only reason they get 1 star is there is no zero. Bought the house last year and needed weeds sprayed and help with some fertilizer this year. 1st application barely turned over the dandelions, didn't kill anything. Asked for reapplication and they said it was completed, still no dead weeds. Third application was for fertilizer, tech noted on his service, yard had weeds. Called for another weed application. Tech showed up yesterday, wrote invoice stating he made application. Time showed he was here 18 minutes and it was pouring down rain. Cancelled......DO NOT USE TRUGREEN! read more

I do not recommend TrueGreen Lawn Care. Apparently when you sign up for their services, you are authorizing them to do whatever they want to your yard no matter the cost. I received a bill for $148 for aeration. When contacting TrueGreen I was told that they did not need my permission to do this and that I am responsible for paying the $148. I also pay $58.56 for weed control and have a yard with weeds. I do not recommend using this company read more

I paid nearly 700 dollars for treatments this year and I am dumbfounded at the lack of response I have received. I called twice last week asking to be refunded because they were supposed to lime my yard and treat for winter weeds. I live in a very nice neighborhood. Everyone else has their yard looking great. Mine looks horrible! I have texted and called and left messages with my contact person Melody but she will not return my call. They came to my door in July 2018 and explained they could do a better job than the company I was currently with. After being treated since then my lawn is now completely full of weeds. All different kinds. I asked for a refund for the treatment they did in March 2019 and I was refused. I was offered a retreat but the lawn is so far gone that a retreat is not going to fix this. I can't believe that after 9 months of treatments my lawn looks like this. I have talked to and chatted with so many people there and they just don't seem to care at all. I wish I had read all the other reviews before I switched to them. I never would have gone with them. Lesson learned. All I asked for was a refund of the last payment. To be refused this is unacceptable to me. So Beware...their guarantee is not a money back guarantee. It's a "we'll do a retreat". We got a promo flier in the mail from TruGreen. We called and attempted to get some details and exact pricing for our size yard. They said they would come measure our yard and send us an email with a couple links with different pricing plans. We never received it. My wife just called to check on it and was told that we were never told that, and that they don't email quotes. The man on the phone said if we were price shopping then they were probably not the company for us. They sure made it easy to scratch them off the list. After seeing all these bad reviews, I'm glad they were rude and ran us off. read more

I have discontinued my service after only 9 months. I returned home today to find a service slip in my mailbox stating they treated my lawn this morning between 7:42am-7:54am. In the comments, it states they knocked on my door when they arrived but I wasn't available. 1st issue: I was home during those times and I have a German Shepherd and Labradoodle that will alert anytime someone approaches our door and especially if someone rings our doorbell or knocks. The dogs didn't alert so no one came up to my door and why would they put the bill in my mailbox instead of hanging it on my door? Could it be because they didn't want to get wet in the rain. 2nd problem: it was POURING down rain. They could not have treated my yard in the down pour. What this proves to me is my yard was NOT treated but I'm being billed for a service I did NOT receive. This also explains why last year we had a terrible weed problem. We made call back after call back to Trugreen to treat weeds. Also, I called last October to report the same type of thing that happened today. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they sent out a senior technician to keep from losing our business then. So, it makes me wonder how many other times they have claimed to have treated my yard but really didn't. read more

Tru-green has treated the lawn at my rental house over the past 7 years. I live in another state. They called a couple of years ago to ask if I wanted aeration. I agreed thinking it was a one time service. No one informed me that once I agreed to one, they would do it every year and NO CONTRACT was sent to me. So the following year, an additional aeration was done without my authorization. I called to complain, and they told me that they could not remove it once it was done and that when I agreed to one, I agreed to future treatments as well (which I did not, verbally or contractually). Also, I was just in town visiting my rental and due to increased shade in the backyard, grass is no longer growing, yet they continued to treat and charge the same price. They should have made an attempt to contact me in order to address this issue. Agree with other reviewer, they do not care about your lawn, just getting contracts and making money. Weeds weren't controlled. Aeration was done right before hundreds of acorns fell into the aeration holes. I've been pulling out literally hundreds of emerging trees (with acorns at the root tips) for weeks now. How could they not know this could happen?! I hired them to save me time and instead just the opposite! Unbelievable! Probably ten times I asked that they update my new service address but they never did. The same for calls to me before service came so I could unlock the gate. Very poor on so many accounts. Poor quality and even worse customer service. Our lawn looks worse now than it did before they started treating it. We initially hired them for weed control. We have seen no improvement. They told us we needed to have our lawn aerated (for an additional charge, of course). They left our yard full of holes, big chunks of dirt everywhere. We called to complain about the service numerous times and every time we are told a supervisor will call us. No one ever calls us back! Yet, we keep getting a bill. Do NOT trust this company! DO NOT agree to TruGreen Sprinkler Repair service. They only want to contract with you and take your money. That's all. They do not perform repairs. They will tell you they are coming to your house and never show up, never call. If they ever show up to your house, they will not repair anything more complicated than replacing a head. IF you ever get to talk to the area manager, he will tell you ANYTHING he thinks will satisfy you, yet the work still will not get done. They will tell you that your leaks have been repaired when they have done nothing. The technician actually told me, "Your meter is barely running." They don't even know, or care, that a "barely running" meter means you're paying hundreds of dollars a year for the leak. I have never been lied to like this company has lied to me. read more

St. Augustine has been a very frustrating challenge for this northerner. I hired Trugreen six months ago and have been very satisfied with the results. They told me up front that it would take some time to bring my lawn back into the land of the living, but I have seen positive progress. The dollar weed does die, the St. Augustine is green and healthy. We are surrounded with neighbors who do not tend to their lawns so this is an uphill battle. Trugreen is persevering. Our specialist is on time. He announces his appearance and asks if we have issues, questions, comments. He respects we have a vegetable garden and treats our area with respect. Thank you. read more

I have this company for past 2 years, I would say their service is the worst I have ever seen in last 15 years. First of all, they just care about money ad renewal of contract, the morse thing is that they do not care about your lawn at all. My lawn (many areas) is dying over time, and weeds are growing wildly. I contact them on May 8, 2015, they said they will come in 3 days. 4 days passed, no phone scheduling and nobody showed up, I called them again, they said they will come on following Monday which is one week later, I argued about it, the lady who took the phone said they will come next day, they showed up next day and placed 2 signs in my lawn (One in front, and one in back yard) and did nothing, on the following day, an automatic scheduling phone call said they will come on next Monday. They finally came yesterday and fertilized first time in the year of 2015. The last time they serviced my lawn was in January 2015.
