They will call you and hunt you down relentlessly if you make one inquiry...from numerous numbers - even after you tell them their prices were too high and that you aren't interested or you went with another company. They were polite on the phone but the reviews were not great online and their prices were higher than many others and the incessant calls literally during all hours of the day (even AFTER just speaking to one representative, a completely different one would call only hours later and on a couple of occasions just 1 hour later !!) so I'm not sure how they don't see these call logs internally but it does get to be TOO MUCH and is enough to leave a bad taste in a customers mouth. It would be nice if they're going to go out of their way to call constantly, to at least do an in person estimate of the actual property and lawn to see what's going on with it, and make custom recommendations...trugreen does not do this however they do have competitors that DO. I feel this is a missed opportunity on Trugreens part because they're so persistent with the calls and eager to get costumers. They could take that costumers service to another level and justify their price a little more by at least doing an in person estimate and not just looking at your property via satellite. Ultimately, the calls were just too too much and we couldn't justify the price for not bothering to quote us in person. Various representatives we spoke to over the phone were polite but it did all feel a bit pushy and we don't thrive off of pressure tactics or lots of calls. They also contract out for certain things which I know can be common for this field but idk how I feel about that for what they want you to pay them. Ultimately, the lack of an in person quote and the numerous daily calls led us to go with another company but perhaps trugreen does good work. Had their service for two years- the last two times they came - " clicking in and out at my property ... they spent 2 mins , then 3 mins . Still weeds/ thinner lawn / coarse grass. I set up a consultation with my area representative, Shawn Sanders, and he was extremely prompt, professional and knowledgeable as he walked the area of my condominium association with me. He was very respectful, answered questions and appeared to be very honest in ways that did not seem self-serving. Awful Awful Awful. set up for auto pay and every few months they would call and asked for payment. They apparently dont have the skills to correctly set up the system. After multiple re-setups they continued to call. Mind you this was done over the phone talking with the billing department. How many times can one account be set up over the phone before they did it correctly??? Years this went on. This place is a joke, i caught them cheating with their treatment, they hire incompetent employees that don't know what to do. They don't have answers to anything, i always end up just going to the store and spraying after them because they never cover the entire yard. I told the manager about his cheating employees, he rudely was talking to me on loud speaker while doing something else in the background, he didn't solve the problem rather just send me a replacement clueless employee to fix what the cheating employee did in the first place. On Or about April 14th, they came out to do my first service. I have a Ring camera system, and it alerted, so I viewed the monitor, to see what type of job they were going to do. (I have the video saved). I was shocked when the tech walked down one side of the back yard and sprayed a single, narrow line on my lawn, and then left the back yard. I immediately went out and asked him why he only did half my yard? He said I "couldn't see it, but he was swinging his arm, and covered the whole yard". I showed him the video, and you could clearly see he did NOT swing his arm. I told him to go back and do it properly. He said he "wasn't going to kill my lawn". I told him to pack up and leave. If I could give zero stars I would. I prepaid for a lawn fertilization plan with grub control. They stopped showing up after my April treatment, I called in June and they apologized because some how I was dropped off the schedule. They came out and did a treatment after I had to call and promised the scheduling issue was fixed but they again dropped me from my next appointment. I called and got the same apologies but they could not come out right away. I cancelled with them and asked for a full refund and all they want to do is refund my remaining visits. My lawn has been damaged because of their failure to honor my contract. I took the refund of my remaining visits. I will find a different more reputable company. I believe that Truegreen is a scam and they take your money but do not want to do the work. Do not use them and if you do I would not pay upfront! read more

Unethical business practices. Was told Glen Johnson they would come as promised so we could prepare the yard and keep dog off. Not once. The result is areas of the lawn not being treated so there are weeds and several places in the yard. One day after treatment there was huge chemical burn area in our yard. Was told someone would come out within a couple days to discuss. Person came, wasn't notified as usual. Didn't even know until we found a note saying they didn't cause the problem and keep watering it for it to come back. The last straw was today. Lawn was aerated and seeded. Never asked for this service. The receipt stated they did the entire yard. It was very evident they did not. Billing for a service not asked for let alone not completely provided is unethical and could potentially be seen as falsifying a document. Stay away for this company it's service. Lacked communicating that they would be at my property until five minutes before arriving. I was at work and there was no way for me to have things ready for an application by TRU Green. I had no opportunity to talk to the TECH and show them the areas of concern and as silly as it sounds I kennel my dog the day of a TRU Green application for two reasons. 1. No matter what anyone says about how safe their product is, I don't like my dog walking in the yard for a day after a treatment is applied. 2. The other reason is that a 120 lb. Doberman Pincher takes protecting their property seriously. TRU Green showing up unannounced put him into a state of rage unnecessarily. TRU Green did respond to a survey I took to rate my experience and promised to give me a one day notice in the future. They also overcharged me per my contract with them by almost $100. They promised to refund this to my credit card but that never happened. Looks like I'm going to become a Lawn Art customer this year. read more

My frustration continues with the call transfer system. Never know what location I am talking to, but what I have found to be consistent is that whatever I get told will happen does not, unless I am able to speak to the local office that actually takes care of us. The person there is absolutely great; the problem is getting in touch with her. I just called to confirm my application that I scheduled last week (had to be post-poned due to the record wet weather this Spring), and I told the person at the call center that I was not surprised at all that she did not see any service scheduled for me. I prepaid for my trees to be treated in the beginning of May and had an appt. the first week set up which ended up being a no show no call. After that they were scheduled to come out every friday afterwards and continued to be a no show no call. When i called customer service with each failed attempt at them coming to treat the trees i was given many excuses one being Jamie ran out of product that day to techs day ends at 5 sorry we didn't fit you in today. When I called the customer service line again on June 8th 2018 to cancel and ask for my payment to reimbursed i was met with an angry customer representative who informed me it will take 10-14 days to get my money back and she can not send an email saying I would get it back for confirmation and no guarantee it will be for the full amount. I am very disappointed in the service now that we do not have the personal contact that we had when this was a local franchise. Yes, you have local people but most of the calls go through corporate. No one can tell you approximately when the tech will be at your home. The computer just calls you the day before to say they will be the next day. Memorial Day weekend they burnt my lawn with fertilizer. They came back Monday October 1 to slit seed to fix what they burnt up. And ran their aerator into my brand new vehicle. And Won't own up to it. Apparently customers don't matter any more and their employees that are less than capable of doing their job are more important. All I can say is Don't use TruGreen. I just cancelled my service due to TruGreen Corporate did not keep their word. I received a call on 4/18/17 from TruGreen stating they serviced my neighbors lawn instead of mine and they will be back out in a couple of days to service my lawn free of charge and apologized for the inconvenience. My was lawn was serviced later that week. I received an invoice, I ignored it because it had the date of service as "4/18/17" and I was told I wouldn't be charged. Needless to say I received a call from corporate regarding my payment, I explained what happened, the rep stated she would follow-up with the local office. Weeks later I received an invoice stating I still owe for service on 4/18, I called corporate, the representative told me that I misunderstood, I still received service later that week and they have to pay for the chemicals. I immediately closed my account, I do not like businesses that do not keep their word, the price was too high for the size of my yard, I would get chemical burns throughout my yard after service and to add insult to injury TruGreen damaged my down spouts. read more
