If you are considering using True Green as a lawn service, don't. I used them last year for 10 treatments and my yard didn't look any different. Plus no one attempts to talk to you once they sell you the service. They also leave a flimsy sign in front and back that ends up on the ground. But the worst thing is you MUST cancel in writing or by phone or they will automatically come the following year and do first application and charge the card you had on file for previous year. read more

Two months using TruGreen and our lawn is minus weeds and minus new grass. They seeded my flower beds that are mulched. There is grass growing in my fenced in vegetable garden. Rip. Off. On only the 2nd application (after pre-paying $755.50) they burned my grass out. Pictures below taken just TWO DAYS after 2nd treatment. Their technician was not aware of the kind of grass he was treating and should not have sprayed what he did. (Per Mark the area manager they sent out to investigate.) Not sure if this is the location but it is nearest to Willingboro NJ. I have no idea how this company is structured because they never explained. Since having payed for this service starting in 2020, I have had nothing but poor service. Poor communication, lack of follow-through, mysterious charges without the slightest consideration to forewarn. I was told a supervisor would call. NEVER HAPPENED! I live in Hillside NJ. I just had new grass seed planted in April of this year. My grass was growing and it was nice and green. I hired TruGreen in the later part of May to maintain my lawn. In July they sprayed weed killer on my grass and killed the whole thing. I payed over $2000 to have grass seed planted. I didn't even get to enjoy my grass before TruGreen destroyed it. They told me my grass was dormant. I had another company look at it and they said the grass is dead. Unbelievable TruGreen. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. This has depressed me. My lawn is the worst in my town. I had my grass planted in April because I wanted a nice lawn. I cried when I saw what they have done. I am taking them to court. I want every dime back. We used Tru Green all last season and part of this one, I had some weeds, clover and some bare spots, wasn't that bad, but we figured let's make it nice. My lawn is 10X worse than it was before. Not only that, on two separate occasions their guy got caught in the rain, so he didn't do the treatment, just put the sign up like he had. Their customer service didn't seem surprised/concerned that their employees tried to rip me off, they just sent them back out a few days later. No big deal to them I guess. When I called to complain about the appearance of my lawn & how I not only had more weeds, that their treatments weren't even killing the old weeds , customer service said it could take up to 5 years to get the lawn how I wanted it. That would end up being $4,000 , who would fall for that? I don't yelp much , but I wanted to warn people about this company. If you want your lawn looking as bad as mine give them a call. But I could do it for half of what they charge, unless you want the fire ant, dandelion and crab grass package , that's on special this month. read more

No call no show!! I was recommended to use them by a neighbor. It was my 1st time using true green. I called to have aeration and seed front and back price was $230.00 i paid in full and was I was called Wednesday and Friday reminding me the we're coming on Monday. I spent 4 hours on Sunday cutting my lawn extra low bagging it and marking out my sprinkler heads for aeration and seed job scheduled for Monday. I come home from work at 5pm Monday and nothing. I called and was told I'm still on the schedule any they will be at my house any minute. At 6pm I called back and was told my service was cancelled and I would receive a call within 24-48 hours to reschedule it. Are you kidding me!! No call no show! This is how you treat a new customer I feel bad for the existing ones. UPDATE- on Wednesday I was rescheduled for Friday after the no call no show on Monday. I received a reminder voicemail on Thursday. Thursday night I cut the grass again extra low again and bagged it again, I removed all flags marking out my sprinkler heads again and then reinstalled them you got it, again. I arrive home Friday after work at 5:15 and I am shocked that nothing has been done. Again, no call no show. This is really unbelievable!! I called them and was told sorry for the inconvenience I was told that it would be escalated to the manager, And I would receive a call 1st thing Monday morning from a manager. Take a guess what happened, Monday morning came and went along with the afternoon and nothing no calls from anyone at true green. I called them at 5:15 and explained everything I've been going through and they called my local branch directly while I was on hold, they then patched me in and I was told the scheduling guy was on the phone and he would call me back. I missed his call while I was in the shower, his voicemail said he would call me back tomorrow around this time, and no # for me to call him. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. For two years I used TruGreen formerly Scotts Lawn care. The results were very good. My existing property is 5000 sq ft of treatable area and I was charged $40.80 per treatement which included a discount for prepay. I am moving to a location that has 2750 sq ft of treatable area and they wanted to charge me $56.00 per treatment. How can they justify charging me more for less square feet? I called TruGreen 3 separate times. Each time I asked for the local Runnemede NJ office to call me back to discuss. I never heard from them. I tried dealing with the call center and they insisted that I should pay more and either hung up on me when questioned or transferred me to another department. It was terrible customer service. Up until today, I've had a completely organic lawn. It's a big deal to me because I have young children and grow food in my yard. So when a TruGreen salesperson knocked on my to sell me on their service, I inquired heavily about their organic program. I spoke at length with the salesperson and his manager and was given multiple sources of info and reassurances of what would be done for my lawn. I was doubly assured that the person treating my lawn would knock on my door and walk through the service with me before applying anything. Fast forward to today, when someone visited my house at 6:53am, before anyone in my house was awake, and claims to have knocked or rang the doorbell. Unsurprisingly, none of us woke. He then proceeded to spray several herbicides and a non-organic fertilizer (something I wish I'd known before I let my dog out into the backyard and came back in wet and stinking of glyphosate). I was given a full refund and a profuse apology from the TruGreen phone rep. Her exact quote, when she looked up my account and saw what was done vs what I requested was "oh... oh no... this is all wrong. Oh he did everything wrong." Turning an organic lawn into a non-organic lawn is easily done with a single spraying. Going back, however, is considerably more difficult. This is one of the WORST experiences I have ever had. I signed up for fertilization program and the next day had terrible chemical burns all across my lawn. Pictures included! No one from TrueGreen will return my calls(5 calls to be exact), no one will take credit for the damage and no one has even discussed how to fix this. This was a lawn that was sodded less than 1 year ago and was in perfect condition prior to the Truegreen treatment. How can you not return some one's calls what kind of business is this? I have received three phone calls from this company for mosquito spray for my property. I told the first caller I was not interested. Then a second call came to schedule a date I explained that I told them I did not want this service, she indicated that from my first call that I had agreed to have this done. I told her I did not want this done and she said she would correct the file. I then received a third phone call telling me the date they can do this service and I told this person who was a "manager" that I did not want this done for the third time. I consider their phone calls nothing but harassment and told him I do not want any service that they offer and to stop calling. Gentleman unloaded a spreader from the truck then proceeded to literally run through my yard making wide turns, missing half the yard. Then sprayed random spots in my yard. He sat longer in his truck then he did servicing my yard. He left an evaluation stating my lawn was in great condition. I hired them to address the urine spots that have consumed my lawn. No mention of the problem in the evaluation. I called customer service while the gentleman was still sitting in front of my house. I was assured they would reapply and I would receive a call from the manager. That was Thursday. Today is Saturday. No one has contacted me. I don't normally post reviews. This was necessary.
