No stars. Horrible. It's a scam. I looked online to see how much it would cost. After that, I got 2-3 sales calls a day. Finally took a call while at my son's soccer practice. I agreed to a treatment for 3 times. They came and treated my lawn. When I received the invoice, I was signed up for over 10 treatment over a few months. I called to say this is not what I wanted. They salesperson said that the offer made over the phone by the first salesman was not something that they could even offer. They don't just do 3 or 4 treatments. I said this is not what I was told and would like to cancel. I was told it was cancelled. I paid for my one treatment and thiught it was done. Six months later, I get a call from someone from TruGreen saying he is at my house to test my lawn. What? He told me that he couldn't do anything about it. I had to call TruGreen. Wade through long automated options before speaking to a person. She heard my complaint and tried to upsale me and then offered a discount. I had to keep interrupting and beg to please just cancel. She finally said that is was cancelled for this year. I asked that it be cancelled permanently for this year and all coming years. She finally said it would be. What do you want to bet that they will show up again in 6 months. Do not ever inquire about service from Tru Green. They will harass you. Customer service is abysmal read more

TruGreen is the horrible company that ruined the garden plants and denied their responsibility. Trea customers like piece of dummy. They ignored the problem they caused. My lawn looks worse than it did before I started with TruGreen, with whom I .recently terminated my contract. The real problems with Trugreen though are in their office system and call center. It took me three phone calls to get my name spelled correctly an, along with that, my email address, so I was not receiving the notices of service they promised me. In spite of numerous complaints about the weeds here, they would have a representative call me to sell me other services, e.g. mosquito spray, aeration, etc.. Those poor folks walked into an ambush; why would I possibly consider paying them for more services when I wasn't happy with the service I had already paid for? After terminating the contract, I received a call from a representative trying to recapture my business. He had not read my file, so I had to explain all of my complaints to him over again. He apologized and said he would get a supervisor to talk to me to see what they could do to make it right. after several minutes of Hold, he returned to say that a supervisor was not available and would call me later. A supervisor did not call. However, a few days later another customer service rep called me to see what she could do to regain my business. She also had not read my file so did not know of the past complaints. After all kinds of apologies that rang hollow, she told me they were now using a different product, had merged with Scotts, had a new CEO, etc, so things were going to be different. She made excuses for the lack of weed control: time of year, location in Florida, etc. She said she would talk to her boss's boss and see what she could do for me. I told her I would not wait on the line, but once she learned what TruGreen was willing to do to satisfy me, she or someone could call me back. End of story. I have literally invested hours in trying to get the TruGreen people to do what they told me they would do when I signed up. My experience with a couple of the technicians on the ground has been pretty good, but I didn't always get the same one, so there was no consistency. Often the promised notification of service did not occur and, when it did, it was often wrong. Advertising and empty promises seems to attract new customers seems to be what has kept these folks in business. It is certainly not keeping existing customers satisfied. read more

Only gets one star cause it won't let me do no stars. This is a scam. Their "technicians" don't actually come to your house they just say they did. "Couldn't spray my yard cause my gate was locked" there isn't even a fence. Horrible. If you were scammed by these people get your money back. If you can get them on the phone. read more

So True Green lowers you in with an introductory rate and prompt attention to service. However after the first year of service they could care less about you depending on your location. I'm sure there are some locations that are better than others. After my first year of service Trugreen stopped arriving on their schedule dates and canceled the appointment with no reason and then schedule so that appointment for a month after the current season leave in the yard full of weeds. When you call one of the 400 numbers that Trugreen has you get some young person sitting in a call center that's never taken care of the lawn before and could care less about your needs. I've been a customer for several years and every time service is scheduled I have to call and spend an hour on the phone for someone to tell me that the truck broke down I'm not sure I can understand how a truck and break down every two months I would think Trugreen would look into that. When I asked for the phone number of my local Trugreen office I was told There was not one they don't exist however the phone numbers on my bill I just don't have it available. So according to the children that true green hires you should just pay $75 every time they come and if you have weeds oh well the spot treatment they promise is never available. If they don't call you back you will never know because they call from unknown numbers with no caller ID or don't answer the phone when you call or answer and hang up the call. You need to understand True Green is just a marketing gimmickIf you have the right conditions for grass they can help you if not it's a tossup. My favorite part is when I said if you're not going to service my lawn an appropriate time I'm gonna cancel my service Trugreen's response oh well sorry to hear that I can do that for you No offer to provide a promotional product to get me to stay or to make things right just somebody will be out there in a week if the truck doesn't break down again or some other unforeseen reason that they can't tell you. They don't care about the outcome of your lawn because there's always gonna be somebody else to call and pay money. The situation has gotten worse through the Covid times because people have extra money to spend on their lawns. The executives at TruGreen should have to call their own numbers and deal with the cretins that they hire because telling somebody over and over again the same light doesn't make it true. My original 11/30/2018 review is posted below. In a 12/4/2018 comment, Hannah T. (representing the Business Owner), indicates that they take my review seriously and apologize for the significant issues I had with their service. Glad to hear that now -- after I posted my candid and detailed review. Looks like a reasonable attempt on the company's part to mitigate the damage my review might cause. They also incorrectly assessed the level of my dissatisfaction. I am not frustrated. I was frustrated years ago. Today I'm MAD! In the company's response, Hannah offers me an opportunity for them to take a closer look at this and try to come up with a solution for me. I already gave Joe Pezzella the Service Manager an opportunity to do just that. It was his comments on a note to me that I quoted in my review. BUT NOW----you are imploring me to message you directly so that you can assist me. Wow! Really? Your timing is also interesting! The only time you feign interest is after I have called your corporate office! That's when you become interested; after you get the unwanted notoriety at corporate. I am awaiting a call back from corporate. They know what I am looking for to resolve the matter for the 2018 season. One thing that the resolution does not do is remove my reviews of TruGreen! The general public needs to be made aware of your business processes, unsavory practices, and scandalous employee behaviors. 11/30/2018 Previous review. I was -- emphasis on the word "was" -- a TruGreen customer for over 6 years. I fired them a few weeks ago. Despite repeated attempts to get them to do their job and provide me with the quality, timely, professional, and individualized lawn care that they advertise, they failed me as a customer. The individualized and tailored lawn care is a myth; an illusion created by TruGreen and their corporate advertising team. Every day, the local franchiser loads his trucks with a pre-defined product mix that is determined by zone and time of year. That product mix is then applied to every customer's lawn scheduled to receive an application that day. The only individualized application is for specific products purchased separately; such as lime treatments. The much-touted quality and professional treatments are questionable especially when you consider that I personally caught and reported the actions of an employee who did one lap around the perimeter of my 2/3 acre lot and did not treat my whole lawn. I also watched him do the exact same thing to a neighbor's lawn after he left my property. That employees problem is that I was home that day. My lawn is in no better condition now than my next door neighbors who have never received any lawn treatments --- EVER. The local Service Manager recently left a note on my door acknowledging that my lawn "has taken a turn in the wrong direction". He ignored the fact that weeds such as broadleaf plantain, bull thistle, prostrate spurge, crabgrass, and the significant nutsedge presence had overwhelmed my lawn. Instead, he chose to blame the customer by indicating that the problem was the height at which I cut my lawn.....the exact same height that I have been cutting the lawn for 7 years. I have zero confidence that TruGreen ever fully treated my lawn during the 2018 season. The actions of their employee and the condition of my lawn leave little doubt as to their unscrupulous business practices and overall failure as a lawn care service provider. I repeatedly pointed out the challenges with my lawn....challenges that were never adequately addressed....what was addressed in a timely manner by TruGreen was the processing of my payment. They had little problem with the same day processing of that credit card! I would never, ever recommend TruGreen or their local Virginia Beach franchise. read more

True agent Kevin Masters talked us into paying for a full season of lawn care. Well the employee came and stayed only 5 minutes and left a note saying he sprayed for weeds and laid down fertilizer well the guy was here only for five minutes! The weeds are growing nicely but not the grass! I have contacted Kevin Masters several times. I told him I was canceling our season order and he said he would have an employee spray for free the weeds, that was two weeks ago. Now he said to my husband he would text me when they are coming to spray, that was a week ago. We want our money back. I will call and cancel the service for sure. They didnt even spray for weeks , we have a large backyard with a lot of weeds and no way did they spray the weeds. And it does not take 10 days for the weeds to die. It only take a day or two. I hate this company cant trust them to do the work but you can trust them to take your money for sure. read more
